Omar, thanks once again for a great lesson. I really appreciate the work and time that it must take to make a video like this with so many parts to piece together. This pattern is trickier than at first glance, and takes some work. I hate to say it, but no matter what I do, this left hand will never get to point of doing the split-finger technique! So again, thanks so much, buddy!
Thank you so much Mark! And sorry for the big delay! I'm so busy of lessons. I think this type of videos that I'm making gives me so much time editing, sound edit and much more. But absolutely so happy to receive all you comments and emails 😍
As I said in the video try first to develop with just a single fourth finger. Then try separately just the technique apart from the rhythm. Keep that 🎶✨ hugs my friend
Gracias!
I'm brazilian boy And I really like this music instrument. I want to buy one. In the Brazil I don't know how find this darbuka. I really this sound. I think very beautiful. You're a good teacher
Definitely the best and most clear darbuka lesson on UA-cam. Playing with you throughout the lesson is really fun. I'm a beginner and I'm sure many people like me starve this much quality content. Please keep up the great work!

Hi Omar! Thank you for this tutorial! I have a doubt: the figures you use for writing the notes are the official around the world? I ask you this because I saw the Sak, for example, as an X in the fifth line on pentagram, and you wrote in the third line. Why do we have contradictions about this?
@@NandaRodriguesMusica Hi Nanda! Thank's so much! Yes it's my own figures annotations, for example the X ( slap sound or sak ) I annotated as a bright accent like Cajon annotations for a sharp accent or drum annotations for a snare. So yes it's my own, hope it makes easy the reading 😊🙌🏼
@@OmarKattanPercussion sure sir.. I'm Indian and right now in Qatar. After came here in to the gulf region I know about darbuka and the music is so devine.. I want to learn more.. Moreover we use our traditional drums in south part of india called "parai" please watch it .
when i m hitting with my index and ring finger my thumb hurts because its also hits the darbuka and i cant help it because when trying to get faster and also doing the turkish technique its just impossible for me to not hurt my thumb is there any way to obstruct it?
