Kevin and Jamie, I passed my checkride, now im a private pilot. Great video and great information. I’ll probably start my adventure in plane ownership with a single simply due to operating costs, but one day I’d love to have a 310. Yours is gorgeous!
Wow, I think I saw a 303 Crusader. Love the styling of that Cessna twin, but you just don't see them that often, as I think there were less than 300 total ever built!!! Beautiful flight Kevin.
Nice easy going video Kevin Thank you! The info you and some of the other you tube pilots put out there is very much appreciated, for pilots and non-pilots alike...Thanks to you all !

G'day Kevin, Kevin here from Australia. Great video particularly liked the instrument tour and the split screen. Anyhoo see ya on the next video safe travels. ✌ Peace.
Seeing all the "like" planes reminded me of when I crewed on a J-35 (sailboat). We did a couple regatta's down in Chicago over the years that were specifically for J-35's. So the docks and slips would be filled with all the same kind of boats. Good times!

Kevin, love your 310 and love your channel. Thanks for making me feel like I am back in the air! I remember those hazy summer days, felt like I was up there looking through the windshield.
Kevin just something to think about. When calculating operating cost for your plane my suggestion is don't leave out all of your improvement costs to the plane even though that will make the cost per flight hour seem high. You should consider cradle to grave costs of the airplane meaning every cost from price you paid for your plane to improvements, maintenance fuel , etc... to get a true hourly operating cost (remember this plane is worth a substantial amount of money when you sell). I am a business analyst in asset management so this is kind of my wheel house. I also have my commercial pilots license and own a blistering fast Piper Cherokee 140/160 and my operating cost per flight hour is considerably higher than renting but the joy and freedom of owning your own airplane if you can afford it is is well worth the cost :) Love your channel and have been watching for quite some time (couple years for sure). Take care...
Thanks for the explanation on determining operating cost Coyne. Considering your job title, you seem well qualified on the subject. I have all the receipts since day one. Maybe I'll sit down one day and put it all together? Although I'm not sure I'd want to know. :) As you mention, it for sure wasn't an investment...it's about the joy and freedom. I feel like most people that are asking just want to know average maintenance, fuel, insurance, etc yearly cost to see if they have enough to attempt the plunge. Guess that goes to your point of masking the true hourly cost though. Glad you're enjoying the channel and we really appreciate the support!!

That was an interesting question you were asked about the difference between the collars on the left side vs the right. So basically it's a gust lock type of mechanism. I really enjoyed this video Kevin, but honestly, I love them all!
@310 Pilot Hey Kev, Awesome video as always! Thanks for answering that question about the yoke collar. I feel dumb for not figuring that out as the 172SP has the same thing. Kevin - you've made reference to "figuring out the landing" with the new wing VGs(and paint) several times. Now that your landings are ++ again - what were the changes in the landing numbers for 1BC? ....... just curious ...... ;-p ps: Hi Jamie!
I used to stay at blue line (Vyse 117) till short final then bleed the speed and touch down. After the VG's I had to be closer to 97 or so on short final to feel the flare and touch down okay. Took me a bit to get the hang of. :)
If you draw a line from the south side of Gary IN to Defiance OH, you'll pretty much line up with my house. 🙂 Every time a twin goes over, I look it up on FlightRadar24 to see if it's you. Bummed that I missed you again, lol.
Kevin, I noticed at the 5:59 mark when the sun was on your windscreen it appears there’s some crazing in the plexiglass. Is that just an illusion, or do you actually have some minor crazing going on?
Jaime, I just finished reading comments and your replies. Were you flying before you became an ATC and how much has being an ATC helped your flying or vice-versa? Your Cessna color scheme kicks assets:) You should be number one with or without Jaime, better with Her:) Cheers, Rik Spector
As Jeffrey said, both. I want the viewers to know what I'm thinking/doing and those callouts are very important to me for safety as takeoff is the most critical time. Even professional two crew airliners verbalize many of those type callouts on departure.
I usually rotate at 100. When I'm calling the speeds it usually is 70, 80, 90, rotate and that happens at 100 but I usually don't say it. Not sure why I did this time. :)
No silly questions Jim. Lots of different variations in planes. My plane isn't pressurized so I can actually open that window in flight but I'm suppose to slow down below 160 to do it. I don't ever open it in flight though. Just on the ground when it's hot.
Glad you enjoyed it Brian! I'm trying to edit as quick as I can to get caught up. After 2 more I start a fun flying New England vacation series where she is with every step of the way. :)
Kevin, Apologize if you answered this already, but I noticed the fuel flow to the right engine is greater than to the left engine. What does this relate to?
Howdy David, it's just a gauge error on the old school pressure gauge. I have very accurate fuel flow on my digital engine monitor and I keep them matched. I'm going to replace those old gauges very soon hopefully.

Looks like it might be a reflection from the glare shield, which is probably textured.
@@zachary3352 ...exactly...
Jaime,
I just finished reading comments and your replies.
Were you flying before you became an ATC and how much has being an ATC helped your flying or vice-versa?
Your Cessna color scheme kicks assets:)
You should be number one with or without Jaime, better with Her:)
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Do you vocalize the information on take offs for us or is it for your own mental checklist?
I wondered that too, I guess I could do it in my sleep now, I'm always expecting it.
Both
As Jeffrey said, both. I want the viewers to know what I'm thinking/doing and those callouts are very important to me for safety as takeoff is the most critical time. Even professional two crew airliners verbalize many of those type callouts on departure.
That's about 4 or drive. How long did it take to fly? As always, thanks for making your vids and answering our questions, very cool !
Thank you for the support!! It's about a 45 min flight or so.
do you ever get time to hit those big bucks on the farm
I hate it that you and Jamie are no longer making videos.
I wish I could pick your brain for an hour, im about to pull the trigger on a 310r and have sooooo many questions
I’m sure Jamie has been misbehaving and has lost flight privileges🤣🤣🤣😂
Since you have a hanger, do you use the pin lock?
You usually rotate at 90 this time 100. Why? I’m not a pilot but love your videos.
I usually rotate at 100. When I'm calling the speeds it usually is 70, 80, 90, rotate and that happens at 100 but I usually don't say it. Not sure why I did this time. :)
hey Kevin, silly question but when do you have to have the cabin pressurized? Can you open that window on your left when in the air?
No silly questions Jim. Lots of different variations in planes. My plane isn't pressurized so I can actually open that window in flight but I'm suppose to slow down below 160 to do it. I don't ever open it in flight though. Just on the ground when it's hot.
@@310Pilot Thanks Kevin, what the next trip you all have planned?
Yea we miss Jamie your co-pilot
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see the mirror on the engine to confirm the gear is down. Did you not replace it after paint????
I've never had a mirror. I do remember flying an older Seneca that had one.
Can you do a video on how to operate the 310
Aaw thats kinda what he's been doing...
Nobody puts baby in the corner - HA! Jamie needs to take some time off of work...Have not seen her in a while...Great video as always Kevin!
Glad you enjoyed it Brian! I'm trying to edit as quick as I can to get caught up. After 2 more I start a fun flying New England vacation series where she is with every step of the way. :)
Go Buckeyes!!!
How is Jamie have not seen her for a while?
I haven't seen Jamie in a while. You're pretty but I would rather watch her. Advise her that she needs to get back in the air.
What are those objects on top of dashboard near windshield
What is the yaw damper "on/off" and purpose, etc.? Thanks!
Dampens rudder when cruising and helps keep airplane straight
Kevin, Apologize if you answered this already, but I noticed the fuel flow to the right engine is greater than to the left engine. What does this relate to?
Howdy David, it's just a gauge error on the old school pressure gauge. I have very accurate fuel flow on my digital engine monitor and I keep them matched. I'm going to replace those old gauges very soon hopefully.
@@310Pilot Thanks Kevin.
