The territories have recently started to intrigue me. Mostly because well there aren’t super highways of course and they’re so big, so much lakes so much wildlife and definitely colder than down here in southern ontario.
the Ptarmagin is a decent motel. The bugs can be ferocious up north. I remember driving up to AK and getting gas in Fort Nelson, BC around 11PM at a full service gas station, as it was just turning late dusk. . the attendant at the time was shirtless as it was a warmer evening and I thought "man that guy has a hairy back!" as it turned when he got closer to my car it wasn't hair on his back so much as he was covered with quarter sized mosquitos and other bugs . IF you opened your window to pay the guy your car was just flooded with mosquitos. It was insane.
Great vid. We want to do the waterfalls alley trip to Hay River all the way from Niagara Region next year. Now I want to ask, which month (except winter) is the best to do this trip with regards to the bugs. I don't think we'll be able to deal with so many bugs.....
Wow awesome trip with the family Cassandra all your missing is a dog for the family and your kids will adore a dog 🐕 make it happen 👌.lol just saying great adventure thou I bet it's pretty Cold out there in the winter 🥶 take care 😎👍
It’s so nice for sure! Someone just posted something on Facebook that said Yellowknife was the “third most instagram-able place in Canada” What a title! Lol!!!
@@LifeinYellowknife bison they are - it’s interesting how the terminology gets mixed up - Jamestown, North Dakota is known as Buffalo City USA - the world’s largest buffalo statue, a buffalo herd, and the National Buffalo Museum is there- even though they are bison - and up there it’s Wood Buffalo National Park
HA, I called them buffalo for a while when we got here and they even have signs up saying the difference and everything lol! Chris kept correcting me lol! That's so funny about Buffalo City!!!! So weird!
It looks so nice up there! I have a question, what is the fastest internet up there? I want to move up there some day, for a year or so. But my job requires me to upload 500gb to 2tb a month. I was wondering if there is internet with at least 10mbps upload. I have been looking but kept running into dead ends. All I am finding is internet providers for here in California when I search for them there. Thank you Cassandra!
Nice! I don't really understand the internet terminology lol so here's the website of the one we use (really the only option avail that is decent so I hear): www.nwtel.ca/internet-plans
Ha we went to the gas station beside it and I got a few things for the kids and it was like well over $30 and I almost passed out. HA, anyway, yes we will have to try the restaurant next time! Thanks for the recommendation!
5:46 We stayed there in the fall of 2024 while on our way to Yellowknife!

What is the average cost to rent a one bedroom apartment in Hay River?
Best place to ask is Kyle’s channel- NWTkid games and such!
