I certainly agree with everyone who praises this video! It's been a god-send to me. I was looking all over for a video that would not just TALK about the various smart-car things it could do but would actually show me up close how they worked and how to work them! So yes, thanks a lot for making this video. It's a one-of-a-kind!
I work at Toyota and pretty much know the cars by heart now. But I still keep coming back to your button tutorials! There‘s something about your calm voice and simple explanations. 😇
Thank you for this tutorial. I had no choice but to buy a new car and was really impressed with the space and technology in the Corolla, as my wife had a 2020 that is really nice. Having said that, I spent time trying to learn the features and functions using the manual and couldn’t find items like how to show the compass. Your simple straightforward explanation was easy to follow, more detailed than the manual, and far less complicated! You answered all my questions and can finally help my wife with some settings on her Corolla she didn’t understand.
Thank you for this tutorial. I had to buy a new car and am really glad I chose the Toyota Corolla SE 2023. It's been 26 years since I bought a new car but I was like the person above, trying to familiarize myself with all the new and (to me) confusing features by reading the manual. I was more confused than ever--and frustrated. Then I found your great tutorial. I've followed it twice, and so appreciate how clear and precise your explanations are. Thank you so much for helping me to start enjoying my car instead of fighting it. Jflores 10/8/23
Just bought a Toyota Cross LE. My other car was 19 years old. This is a great video to explain the entire inside of the car. I have watched this video a few times and am getting familiar with my Cross. Thank you for explaining everything.
Best tutorial video I've ever seen. If you don't do this for a living, you certainly could. Thank you for your direct simple information on nearly everything.
This is a big help. The car is too darn complicated. Many of us older people do not need most of the gadgets. I had a 2010 and was very happy with it. I could play CDs in my 2010. This is ridiculous.
I am purchasing a Toyota for my birthday and have been researching it to be sure it was what I wanted. Your tutorial has just helped me seal my decision. You were very clear and through in your teaching. Thank you for your kindness in making this video.
Thank you for this. Yesterday was a month since I bought my 23 Corolla Cross. This is my first Toyota, so this guide was very helpful. I'm absolutely loving this vehicle!
I have had my 2023 Corolla for 6 months, and recently had the low tire pressure light come on. I said to my wife, with all this electronics, why cant they tell me which tire ?? Then I watched this video and felt silly not even trying to find that option in the manual. This video really helped me learn so much more about the buttons than just reading the manual. Thanks.
Thank you for the cruise control part I just bought my 2023 Corolla at just 20 I’m super blessed but I have never had vehicle with this many features so I’m really thankful for someone like you that dedicated themselves to helping others!!
I just bought a 2023 Toyota Corolla hatchback and this is the kind of information I wish I had received at the dealership since this was the first car I've purchased in this century. I especially wish the volume knob on the screen would just let me turn the screen off since I prefer direct access controls to menu diving. I'm impressed with the car in this first week of ownership but I'm just not as screen-centric as a lot of drivers. Thanks for your help, I'm subscribing.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. We traded in a 2014 car for a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross, and we're totally baffled by how far electronics had come. It's very hard to learn these things by reading the manual. Now we can change the things that we need to change. Thanks again. This is great!
thank you SOOOO much. I've been (barely) driving a 2000 Honda Civic (I'm mainly a bicyclist) and now own a fancy LE...this video has been incredibly helpful (perhaps life saving!) I'm sure I'll watch it again and again. Now I'll check out your other videos. What a great service!
Even though I’m already familiar with this stuff because I’m a Toyota guy it’s good to see people like you explaining every detail on how the features works. I really like to have one of this but LE Hybrid AWD but with convenience package 2 and colored on wind chill pearl with black fabric interior. Good job man explaining! 👍🏻
I just got a new 2024 Corolla SE with a few upgrades. My first new car in almost 10 years, and my very first Toyota ever. This video is just what I needed. Clear, detailed, informative. I have never experienced these advanced safety systems before, and the MID was confusing at best. The relatively small screen size doesn't help, but your explanation(s) have cleared things up for my next drive. I'm planning to watch the latest infotainment video next. Thanks for making this video. Only one I've found anywhere thus far.
Your tutorial was awesome. When I bought the car, the salesperson didn't explain all the features, even the ones that should have been helpful. Right now I am having an issue with my carplay working with the new update to the iOS software update that Apple made recently. I can't connect to carplay by Bluetooth. I have an Apple iPhone 15 pro max. I'm stumped. I did have all access to carplay until the Apple software update. Thank you.
What a great job he is doing. There are many great videos on UA-cam and a lot of not so great ones where the speaker knows what he or she is doing but seems to expect others to already know a lot of things. But this guy knows his stuff and can present it. Does anyone know if you can mess with these setting without starting the engine? Thanks
Thank you! 🙏🏼 you can change certain setting without starting the engine. Press the push start button 2x (or turn key forward 2 clicks without cranking engine on) without pressing the brake and 75% of the options can be customized. Some of them must have the ignition on and engine running however. Good that helps.
Your video is super helpful, thank you so much for posting. I am a new 2024 Corolla owner. I keep coming back here for a refresher. And now I understand how the Auto-Bright on the headlights work.
I was wondering how to turn of the cruise control and adaptive cruise control completely off. Mine keeps turning on every single time I start my car and I don’t see how to turn it off.
If your cruise keeps turning on then I would recommend a stop into service. You should be able to cancel the cruise using the brake, or the cancel button on the steering wheel.
One of the main problems I've been having with my new Corolla is the fact that every resource I've seen (except THIS great video) has a different configuration of buttons and gadgets. Neither my owner's manual NOR the special blurb they gave me at the dealership that discusses the TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE 3.0 show the same configuration of widgets and indications. It's almost like they move them all around randomly to confuse the driver with every new car they manufacture!
Brian, it WORKED. Yesterday, I spent literally close to 70 minutes looking for the answer about the digital speedometer: to no avail. Nowhere in the Manual is it explained. You really are extremely helpful. I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows nothing about cars (get nervous and proud before and after filling the windshield fluid! That's all I can do)) So your tutorial is so helpful. Toyota should pay you! I, of course, subscribed to your platform. Are you in need to be financially awarded? I'm serious
Hola, Thanks for sharing these awesome videos. I have a Corolla Cross 2023, lately someone has been trying to snatch things from my SUV. Somebody took the tire air caps and other things. Does this model have a security alarm system? Some people don't know how to keep their hands away. Thanks 👍
The car won’t alert you for taking things off the exterior, only when they open the door when it’s locked by breaking in. You’ll want to see what’s available to you for upgraded alarm systems.
As someone who's been using a pre-2k car, thank you for getting me up to speed on current car technology! I do have a question: Where do I charge my phone? I see that there's no longer a smoke plug-in, and can I charge both android and iphone devices?
Thanks for watching! Just take the USB plug your phone came with and plug that right into the car. You can also buy spare cords online. Get the ones with good reviews, not the cheap gas station ones.
Hi, it’s a great tutorial! Thank you very much for this. My 2023 corolla SE always auto break before a red traffic light, I was wondering how to turn it off? (I have already turned the PDA off)
Just bought a Corolla and this is so helpful. Thanks! I got a quick question though: my car starts with the Eco mode on by default, how would you change it back to normal on the dashboard?
Excellent and informative video. I have about 5,000 songs in my phone's memory. Can I connect to the stereo through bluetooth or do I need to use a USB cord, and if so how is this done? Thank you for your help.
Simply connect to either Bluetooth or the usb plug. USB is simple hit settings on car, Bluetooth, new device, Go to phone settings, Bluetooth, tap corolla, and hit pair Done
Hi Brian. Thanks for the great video. I just got my car a week ago and will be watching this vid a few times to learn it all. Question: when listening to music i prefer to have the sound come mostly from the rear speakers. Is there a way to choose which speakers i can use? Thanks so much for your help
Thanks. I had found that setting but thought it was grayed out. I will check again. I drove my 2000 Solara for 20 years ❤️ and all the new electronics is mind boggling LOL. You and your video is so appreciated
All vehicles sold in the USA (and other countries) are required by law to have a parking brake. It can be actuated either mechanically by a lever or electronically. This car has the electronic version, which most cars are going to.
I just bought a 2023 se but they got all the same buttons besides the se have sport normal and eco button, but I just wanted to learn why I couldn’t use my cruise control, thank you
On Corollas that have heated side mirrors, how are they activated? Do they come on with the rear defroster button, or is there a separate button/switch? Also, if the feedback tone is turned off, will the panic button still work?
Great video! I have a question, how do I get the tank average to show instead of the trip average? I've been trying for a long time and couldn't find it!
To clarify are the buttons that you reviewed on the Corolla LE the same for the Cross. If not completely then what are different. What buttons are different from the LE for the other trim levels, hybrid, and AWD.
I need a tutorial for the XSE hatchback model. A lot is the same but the cluster is dramatically different. By the way thanks for the tip on how to get back to the Toyota interface on the infotainment center.
Thank you for your video! Just picked up my 2023 corolla le in Canada two days ago. I was wondering if you know why my corolla doesnt have the individual tire pressures feature on my MID? There's only vehicle information with no second page to go down to.
Thanks for watching and congrats. Most corollas don’t have this option, as far as I know. But it could be a diff spec since you’re buying Canadian market Toyotas.
Thanks for the tutorial! question: as long as the key fob is within range pulling the front door handles will unlock it automatically but what about locking it? Is the only way to auto lock it by pushing the lock on the key fob?
Thanks for watching. When equipped with the smart key system, you lock the car by placing your finger on the end of the handle that has the little groove.
I just (last week) got a Corolla LE 2024 and I want to be able to display an app (MapQuest) that I have on my iPhone but I don’t want to connect the phone itself (with a bunch of apps) to the car, just the map app. Thank you.
I ordered the high-end Premium version with 2.0 (196hp) engine. My third red Toyota in a row (since 1994). If you take a lower end version with options the price won't be much different. A GR would have been nice too but it's only available in bi-tones such as red + black which I don't really like. Only one thing is missing and that is the anti-speeding ticket option.
Great video, Brian! I am actually about to get this new Corolla LE sedan soon. Although your video is already very clear, can you still confirm there is NO Auto Engine Start/Stop feature on this Corolla? Because I absolutely hate that function even if it can be disabled by pushing a button. Thanks!
@@brianruperti I am pretty sure it has it, I wrote an email to Toyota and they did confirmed it has it but they say you can use the button to turn it off. However, in saying this I noticed in the video you have the standard LE without the upgrade to a push-button start and I am thinking those can be the ones with the auto start/stop feature but I am not 100% sure. I just sent another email to Toyota so let's see what they say this time. Good video BTW, most dealerships don't even know or can explain most of these features/functions.
The seat belt chime is required by Federal law, however if you buckle up BEFORE inserting the key or before starting the engine you will never hear it.
I just got a new Corolla cross hybrid, when using Sirius is there and way on the steering wheel to switch stations to go to the next station in order, like start at 1 then 2 then 3 and so on because it only switches to the next favorite station with the buttons on the right and there are a limited amount of those
Does all Toyota Le base trim, have remote start using Android Auto? I live in Canada and was wandering if we have the same remote start feature on the Android Auto system.
I just purchased my toyota corolla 2023 August 31. Why is it takes times to de fog the front window? And also if the headlights on AUTO will it automatically turn off?
Yes, the headlamps turn OFF. That’s why it’s called AUTO. As far as windshield deforms, there are 3 settings: Fan on HIGH, heat on MAX HOT, and set the distribution to the WINDSHIELD logo.
Per NHTSA regulations, all cars sold in the USA are required to have 3 things that must be moved either UP or fully CLOCKWISE to engage full defrost: HEAT, FAN and AIRFLOW.

To clarify are the buttons that you reviewed on the Corolla LE the same for the Cross. If not completely then what are different. What buttons are different from the LE for the other trim levels, hybrid, and AWD.
Do you have a full tutorial for the 2023 Venza. I saw a quick tutorial but not a full. Thanks.
Not at this time
I need a tutorial for the XSE hatchback model. A lot is the same but the cluster is dramatically different. By the way thanks for the tip on how to get back to the Toyota interface on the infotainment center.
Try this and let me know if this video helps! ua-cam.com/video/IaH5ttFrSEk/v-deo.html
Excellent tutorial. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome lecture thanks
Most welcome thank you
I just (last week) got a Corolla LE 2024 and I want to be able to display an app (MapQuest) that I have on my iPhone but I don’t want to connect the phone itself (with a bunch of apps) to the car, just the map app. Thank you.
When the phone is connected you’d have to select CarPlay off in the phone settings
Thank you! You're the best!
Thanks!
Hii!! Just got my corolla yesterday :-) thank u sm for this tutorial. Question; the corolla doesn’t have BSM?! I was lane changing and realized :(
Hey! Congrats! Some do but you have to spend extra money for it. Some dealers install aftermarket if you MUST have it. Enjoy the car!
Very nice. Id love a GR
@@brianruperti I expect the Premium to be some sort of "Q-car", more discreet than the GR.
Very good review. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
This corolla is missing the variable intermittent wiper setting??? Even my 2005 corolla had that.
How was the AC, Brian? You think it's good enough to handle SW heat during July and August? I live in Arizona so we'll get firey temps.
Yes it’s very cold and get some LLumar AIR80 on your windows too.
@@brianruperti llumar air80? I was thinking of 3M crystalline tint.
It’s so cold it will drive you out of the car.
Much thanks yous, Liked and subscribeds 👍
Thanks and welcome to the channel 😎
Great video, Brian! I am actually about to get this new Corolla LE sedan soon.
Although your video is already very clear, can you still confirm there is NO Auto Engine Start/Stop feature on this Corolla? Because I absolutely hate that function even if it can be disabled by pushing a button. Thanks!
Thanks! I’m 95% sure that feature does not exist on the corolla
@ownerr8441 very interesting funny thing is I’ve never sold an LE with button start in my 7 years. That’s how rare they are!
@brianruperti I think they introduced it in the 2021 model. The 2020 don't have it on none of the models.
any idea on how to turn off the seat belt chime ?
the old odometer button 10 second seat belt click trick from older models isn't working.
No sorry
The seat belt chime is required by Federal law, however if you buckle up BEFORE inserting the key or before starting the engine you will never hear it.
love this!! and love my new car :)
Thanks!
I recently bought a used 2022 Corolla LE. Find the driving seat really lumpy. Any reason you can think of for that?
It’s all perspective. What one finds comfortable, another can find uncomfortable
Very nice thank you❤
Welcome 😊
Great Video. Thank you!
Thanks!
@@brianruperti does LE or SE modal get heated seats?
Se optioned in but most dealers can heat any seats for a charge
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
I just got a new Corolla cross hybrid, when using Sirius is there and way on the steering wheel to switch stations to go to the next station in order, like start at 1 then 2 then 3 and so on because it only switches to the next favorite station with the buttons on the right and there are a limited amount of those
Great question. It’s designed to switch between favorite settings. To scan, you’ll have to use the infotainment screen.
Please how i can set the navigation in 2023
It’s need update from usb or by online and I’m not found any way to do it
What are you trying to set?
@@brianruperti the map it’s not available on screen i must update it
@@brianruperti and I don’t have apple car play
Corolla hybrid 2023 it’s
made in china
Does all Toyota Le base trim, have remote start using Android Auto? I live in Canada and was wandering if we have the same remote start feature on the Android Auto system.
Android auto yes, remote start no
I just purchased my toyota corolla 2023 August 31. Why is it takes times to de fog the front window? And also if the headlights on AUTO will it automatically turn off?
Try raising the temp
Yes, the headlamps turn OFF. That’s why it’s called AUTO. As far as windshield deforms, there are 3 settings: Fan on HIGH, heat on MAX HOT, and set the distribution to the WINDSHIELD logo.
Per NHTSA regulations, all cars sold in the USA are required to have 3 things that must be moved either UP or fully CLOCKWISE to engage full defrost: HEAT, FAN and AIRFLOW.
very Nice info. Could you please make for 2024 model?
Will do!
@@brianruperti Thank you Sir..
it is really helpful!
I'm glad!
