When I was looking around for crash protection I seen these but wondered if they would protect the radiator at all since they are lower than the radiator honestly. When you laid the bike on its side and showed that it would that was the selling point for me. I ordered a set right after watching the video and they should be here Wednesday. A product that you hope you never need but you’ll be glad that you have if you do 😆 Very informative video sir 👍 Thanks for putting it out there
Glad you liked the video. Had the bars on since and they have been used lots as I took the bike for a summer through single track with my buddies on dedicated dirt bikes. I’m still very happy with them!
@@Bullyveldt I’ve installed the bars since I made my comment. Very impressed with how easily they went on. Everything lined up perfectly without any tweaking or forcing needed. Color matches great. Shipping was very quick too. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase
Thanks for making the video, I just got mine for my 690, I called t Rex before ordering, they told me that they don't interfere with the OEM skid plate, but they didn't mention that you have to remove the bars before removing the skid plate, oh well it's no big deal, your video helps a lot Cheers 🏍️
Thank you for making this video. It is very helpful. I have been looking for some solid crash bars for my KTM 690 Enduro and you helped me make my decision. Wonderful attention to detail with your verbal explanations and camera work. You've done an outstanding job of showing people what they need to know.
You’re more than welcome, I was looking for something for my 690, and when I found these I figured I’d do what I could to make sure others didn’t have to figure it all out on their own. I hope you enjoy your bars!
I just finished installing the sameT Rex crash bars on my 2019 KTM 690 Enduro r, and just wanted to put it out there that if you have the stock skid plate like I do then the bars won't interfere with your skid plate, the skid plate is attached on separate bolts below the bars Cheers 🏍️
Wow. Within a week for shipping directly from TREX? I'm out in Ontario and have a similar story to you. Dropped my 690 within a month or so of picking it up. Very light drop but I scratched the clutch cover and swing arm a bit as well as the upper right fairing. I figure these bars would have have at least saved my clutch cover and fairing a bit... maybe not the swing arm. Your video helped me make my decision to purchase them, thank you !
Thanks for the video. I pick up my 690 in a couple days. Would appreciate a video on the Tusk frame for bags as well. Interested to see how they’ve done for you.
I don't have a video on the tusk frame mounts but they have really assisted with protecting the bike and sides along with my crash bars from many a dump. Also they give you something to grab onto the bike when you inevitably need to wrestle it around on a trail or out of sand and mud.
@@Bullyveldt -perfect, thank you, I’ve been impressed with the 690 so far. I took it through more than I thought it was up for over the weekend. Would be great to have some more protection
I use these in tight single track where I go with my buddies on their 250's. It has saved my bike many times when my skill level combined with the size of the bike and "tighness" of the trail beat me.
@@Bullyveldt Awesome! That is exactly what I am looking for because I can only have one bike right now so the 690 is it and I ride where smaller bikes go also so it sounds like these bars would be a good purchase for me.
I was watching the video as I need to do this on my bike...(not the same bike). I don't have torqueing tools. I see you mention the torque that the bolts should be tightened to but you did tighten with just a ratchet...so is it necessary to use proper torque wrench...Is that what you used? I am just asking as I don't want to pay someone $100+ just to do this...I am capable but don't have a torque wrench.
You can tighten them tight, bolts are quite strong. They do hold the engine to the body so are important. I don’t always torque them but sometimes do as I have to remove the bars when doing oil changes. Tighten them tight and you should be good to go!
thanks for the fast reply! I have been debating on getting these or not... I need a bash plate as well. Not much selection for canada dealers. You think the crash bars are worth it? @@Bullyveldt
I think so. I found them by searching on google and seeing them through google images. I really liked the orange colour which matches the frame. They will keep the radiator safe and also will keep the bike mostly off the ground. I crashed my bike in the dirt first week and messed the rear brake pedal. This bar may have protected it. The rad shroud dragged through the turf. The bar would have stopped that as well. I’m hoping to never find out if they are really needed haha. Ordered a bash plate from KTM twins and waiting for it to arrive.
@@Bullyveldt Thinking about buying them cause I run the stock brake pedal and I want to protect it as well as the other parts it protects. Now that you have had it a while would you recommend it?
@@bf9396 I replaced my stock brake pedal after bending it over the footpeg within the first 2 days owning the bike. Way before the crash bars. Unsure if that would have helped or my current scorpion skid plate would have done that.

Update, these bars are garbage. Uninstalled them after a year because they kept falling apart and never aligned correctly.
well-thought-out video. thanks, bro
The choice between the Outback motortek and this one is hard to do. Both are well made
Thx for the video, looks like a good grab handel to

Got one, colors looks great
But disappointed to see that to do an oil change the crash guards have to be removed also! 😢 double the work now!!! 😖
Yeah, you are correct, it does add work to the oil changes. Luckily the 690 doesn’t need oil changes as often as dedicated dirt bikes like my kx450.
Do you have a link for the side bag carriers

Hey! im located in Calgary. How much did u pay for shipping? also did you get taxes with duties?
The cost was $80 shipping so with the bars it was $250 USD. I got tagged with $39 CAD at the post office when I picked them up for duties/taxes.
