Great video to get some focus on the "smaller" caliber .177 👍🙂 I have been shooting slugs in my Daystate .177 rifles for almost 3 years now and the accuracy is absolutely there and the power also 🙂

Soren you bet thanks for many of your tunes as well. Hopefully more and more ammo will come out for the .177 increasing range and affordability.

    A great topic 👍.
Many Scandinavian guys have been using .17 slugs a few years with good results.
Turkish shooters are doing some extreme distances with modified Turkish barrels.
I'm enjoying the smaller cal. Somewhat limited at the moment, winter weather, barrel length etc.
Overall though, for me .17 slugs are the future of my shooting.
For the price of a couple of beers I can have a full day shooting slugs.🙂
    Enjoy the journey.

Yep exactly I mean there is enough following and once people kind of realize how much more the other stuff is to shoot cans at 200 yards they will be a bit shocked. All you really want to hear is that klink, klink sound... Thanks for watching.

Mr Zen does it again. Air Gunning and the art of being contented. Been tempted time and again by the marketing machinery to get out there, New gun, bigger caliber, more power, greater accuracy. Talk about trigger finger, was hooked on buying. Just couldn't stop dreaming. Fortunately this guys coolness and steady attitude coupled with his analysis of the situ reigned me in. Yes! Of course I will buy another Airgun or two. But not before reconsidering all of the excellent points and psychology presented via this channel and others.

@@ShootingTargets727 Sometimes it's not what you say but the way that you say it. I think that you show respect to both the manu and the Air Gunnie. I think your overall idea is to be not only careful with what you buy but also what you want and expect across the price class. I sense a method. And a good philosophy in your channel. You probably have more money to burn than a lot of us other enthusiasts. That's what's great about you tube. You guys that share your ideas and experience to guide us less fortunate. Lol people what a bigger caliber since they are a bad shot 🤣 177 slugs are awesome especially if you can push them 1000+ fps. Ground squirrels don't like the nsa 15gn slugs @ 1080 fps 😁 they usually go flying back when they get hit.

People don't realize just how far you can make it with a powerful 177 slug, if you're gun will shoot them accurately. I have an impact mark too that I originally got as a compact 22 that I have fully decked out to where it's pretty much a mark 3. Internally as well as with the upgraded plennum. Currently I have to change the disk for the Huma regulator which means my regulator is not consistent. But I used to be able to pop invasive snail eggs from 140-170yds. Just today I shot an iguana at 153yds. It took 2 head shots, although it took me about 10 shots due to wind to finally hit him, once the swirly wind died down, he stood no chance. I was shooting 13.43 jsb KO between 934 and 942fps

I have 2 .177 and 2 .25 totally skipped the .22 option lol I chose the .177 because of its trajectory how it shoots very straight because of its speed, but I went for the .25 for the longer range and power at distance. Within 8 months I had purchased 4 air guns 3 break barrel and one pcp and so many different ammo types and weights but it's been so fun pairing the different rifles and pellets/slugs.

@@ShootingTargets727 I tried a variety of crossman (destroyers, hollow point, magnum, fast shot, copper ranging from 7 - 10.65 grain). RWS super mag 9 grain, Excite hammer, Olympia domed heavy 8.44 grain. But the best haves been H&N. Their barracuda match 10.65 have worked great in both my .177 (12 fpe, 22 fpe) shooting half an inch at 25 yards. Have not tried slugs in the .177 yet though

Yeah, man I agree I have fx impact mk2 25 with a 72 pp upgrade and I was shooting slugs 34 to 41 gr freaking reg was like at 175 bar lol but yep I got tired of shooting slugs so I turn it way down to 90 bar and I'm shooting 34 gr jsb at 865 av and I'm getting 125 shots 4 mags plus and my fx m3 22 cal is way better at shooting slugs so that's my slug gun .... but i remember about 20 yrs ago I bought Benjamin 177 pump I think I would pump it like 8 times and I would shoot these pellets I bought from an air gun store that was in San Antonio TX where I used to live anyway the guy that own the store had all kinda pcp air rifles I don't remember what brand but I do remember asking him what kinda guns they were because they looked like really fancy guns like the wood stock's and some had tanks on them and all that stuff and he said pcp air guns son I said oh ok lol I didn't know anything about them but they were expensive and nice ...then I started looking at the pellets this guy had all different brands I didn't recognize at the time I just new about Walmart stuff and Academy lol well the man ask what gun I had I told him and he said you need to shoot these pellets and remember they had a little hole like a hollow point slugs kind look like a h&n barracuda in 177 and they were a little long well the man said those pellets shoot the best out of the gun you have son try them out and let know....well sure enough they did man I remember shooting a bunch dove like I couldn't miss it was fun at the time I wish I still had that gun it was awesome with open sight I didn't have a scope lol sorry for the long story lol thanks for sharing bsafe buddy 👍

I have been waiting for the .177 Superior heavy liner to come to the States for a long time now. It’s frustrating because they have been available everywhere else for awhile now but the States. It’s near impossible to get one. I’ve been shooting the knockouts great out of the standard liner, but the 20.5 Neilsons need the heavy liner for sure. I don’t know what the hold up is.

Think your spot on... .177 has come into its own with the support of the slug manufactures. I was wondering how much energy was being transferred by a 12.5 grn NSA slug (975 fpe muzzle) on a target at 100 yards. On paper it's 17 fpe, the "pop" of the slug hitting a raw chicken leg was very telling. The broken leg bone-pass throughs demonstrated the lethality potential of the little slug at a football field away. If your interested: ua-cam.com/video/u10O4xBEjFk/v-deo.html
Your also right about power/accuracy correlation. 1.5" - 100 yard groups printing with 200 fpe (@ 100 yds - not muzzle) is a pretty good shooting rifle from my experience. I've not seen anything to support sub MOA 200+ FPE rifles (untethered). Its possible they are out there, just few and far between.
I'm starting to consider another .177 that will handle heavy for caliber projectiles. Could make an interesting ELR platform.
Thanks for you videos. I've found them very helpful...
