- I love pinball with a passion, and I love Zen Studios' approach to pinball. And I love how many pinball tables the team has created. There are 70 tables currently available on Pinball FX 3... and with that in mind I felt it was high time to do a top 10 tables to date.
So here are my picks!

I love the free zen fx3 table, sorcers lair. When u understand the tables mechanics and how to hit the jackpots and complete the missions its very rewarding
Great table. Got 1B on pc.
It’s great. Unfortunately most people will never see FX3 and Williams giving them their license was a huge mistake and will probably result in Williams not renewing with anybody and the opportunity to buy will be gone for good.

The williams tables I mean
My absolute favorite table (although I know nothing about the comic book) is Fear Itself. Awesome ramps, great flow with badass multiball modes. the magna save and magna loop is just awesome, especially when you get multiple balls looping around the table!
My favorite original has to be Epic Quest. Favorite licensed table would have to be Back to the Future.
I'm so disappointed that I'm not big into the Fallout table. Fallout being one of my favorite game series ever. It feels like it was designed to have the Skyrim style progression system, but it just...doesn't have it, and it feels weird because of it.

There are 85 tables now and they are on sale on steam at the moment. I bought them all. Usually all 85 would be 60 bucks but with the sale right now all of them are 117 bucks. Todays date is 12/22/18 I still have not played Skyrim even though I bought it when it came out.... too many games on backlog and with all the hours I put into Oblivion it is a daunting game to pick up and play. I have for xbox 360 and now of course it is on all the newer consoles and I want to play it on that instead of hooking up my old 360 because apparently they are not going to make the 360 version backwards compatible.

Persia was one of my favorite table going far back in Pinball FX 2. Was playing that table in 2013.
Very insightful video. I've been playing since Zen 2 was released on PS3 (now playing on PS4). I have quite a few tables and watching your video has given me some ideas of what to go for (except for a couple of tables I already have) in terms of playability. Cheers.

Great Video and excellent reviews, ZEN PINBALL is amazing I install it on any device that has is especially my phone and tablet they are portable and comfortable. The console versions are awesome and the controllers are very easy to use. The quality of the tables are amazing and the graphics are incredible. Thank you
Personally, I think the Venom table is one of the best. The layers of it are great and the way it incorporates Spider-Man and Carnage instead of just focusing on Venom is genius.

I find the Zen Studio tables to better than the licensed properties. Epic Quest and Secrets of the Deep are my personal favorites
The table quality is kind of a mixed bag across all the sets. Some of the zen originals, I just hate playing. V12 is a good example. I also can't stand how the Hercules table plays.
Saying that, there's also some really good Marvel tables like World War Hulk, Thor, and Fear Itself. But some kinda 'meh' ones like Venom and Iron Man.
Then there's the fun Star Wars tables like Darth Vader and Starfighter Assault, but also some less interesting ones like Return of the Jedi, and Might of the First Order.
And there's the rest of the licensed ones too. Back to the Future, Aliens, Skyrim, Doom, Walking Dead, and Bob's Burgers are all fun. But you also have Jaws, ET, and Portal that aren't super amazing.
Hell, the same can be said for the William's tables even. Most of them are great, but you still have the likes of Safe Cracker and Hurricane that are a bit less fun.
And that's not counting the ones that didn't get ported over from FX2. Street Fighter, the 2 South Park tables, Ninja Gaiden, Plants vs Zombies...all great tables. I still hop back into FX2 to play them.

Thanks for the review! Which camera view do you use for landscape and portrait? I just got it for the Switch and liking the "closer up" but not mess with my eyes with too much movement, so liking views like 5/6/7 but haven't decided on one.
Thanks for the video. I share some of your top 10 (Excalibur, Pasha, Moon Night) but have others that would more easily make my top 10. Fantastic Four is probably still my favourite table as it is well balanced, you have to play through wizard mode to score big and it has awesome stackable multi-balls. I also love Rome. It was the table that I cut my pinballing teeth on and I only realised later that it is actually a tough table! Others of the older ones that I really enjoy are Earth Defense, Biolab, Wolverine and Blade. You might deduce from my selection that I became disillusioned with it as it generally became too easy and games lasted for too long. Anyway, I'm back again with the release of the Williams tables and the classic arcade physics and can't get enough. I really hope that some of these tables you (and I) mentioned will also be released with the classic arcade physics. Some can be adapted relatively easy, but for others, with their long rulesheets etc., it might just not be worth it.
I love the Rome table too but can't get very high scores on it.
Great video. Jaws is a classic movie; but Zen studios couldn't get the music copyright. Sadly in Universal pack and Jurassic pack
Did you ever try Sierra's Ultra Creep Night? to this day -- it is my favorite pinball game on pc. some of these tables in zen pinball come close -- but for some reason creep night still my favorite. Any thoughts?

Before I got the Williams tables I was playing a lot of the Skyrim table that and the Bobs Burgers tables is great too.

I like all of those too! Especially El Dorado though. What an excellent original table by Zen.
My issue with the Family Guy table has to be the Stewie helicopter mini game. It has nothing to do with pinball and lasts too long, just cant stand it to the extent I avoid playing the table. I think a better alternative would be Bobs Burgers, it has the same ramp style gameplay but a better variety and pacing of challenges.
Other than that, I'd say these are all good picks
Lasts too long ? I mean you usually finish that thing in about 15-20 seconds, Bob is good tho, but I find family a little bit harder
@@CAGLIOSTRO13 It seems to come up super frequently, I just don't enjoy the mini game but it's such a good way of getting easy points. Although having spent a lot of time with the Fallout table, it's not nearly as bad as the space invaders game which can go on for like 30 minutes.
Well I dont really know what are your results on those, but I really rarely start that airplane game, I also never managed to hit quagmire multiball which is kinda in same position but on right part of the table :)
And fallout space invaders, are just sick way to make points, much more easier for me than this one ( I mean I always finish this one, but I almost never trigger it )
Doom is a great one tho, fast and hard map

hey- thnx for your reviews- question,.. my bf has gotten i to star wars lately & i reality wanted to get him a zen star wars table. our all time favorite table has been Sorcerers Lair, bc the storyline is just so great- and there are tons of little mini-games that all add up to the big midnight event - it has been an utter joy getting into that game- and tbh not a single other board has even come close to the fun. any suggestions..? can u recommend a star wars table that is similar in style..? or any table, for that matter..? thank you again :) x
The Skyrim table is *excellent* as a story thing. I know it's not a Star Wars table, but it is by far the best for that. Thinking about the Star Wars tables, though, I think the ones based on the original trilogy are the most enjoyable for the way that they tie into the films.
Also, don't overlook the Aliens tables! The table based on the original Aliens has everything that you're looking for in story and an interesting variety of things to do.

Man people don’t realise how much Excalibur was snubbed when it came out. I thought it was awesome and it’s nice to see the general opinion slowly correct itself
I got hooked first on Excalibur way back with the 3DS Zen Pinball that was released early in that console's life... and I've just never looked back. One of my most played tables to this day :-)
DigitallyDownloaded It’s an overlooked pinball gem! Had to re-purchase it after watching your video. Feels like it’s been a century since I played it. One of my favourite tables just for pinball in general.
@@holup2691 I remember doing an interview with the Zen people a few years ago, and I asked them if they had ever considered producing a physical table. They said the idea had been floated and Excalibur was the one they thought had the best potential.
I would genuinely buy that table if it ever happened. $3,000 or whatever for a physical pinball table is a bargain if it would be of the standard of Excalibur :-)
I haven't played FX3 for a year now (but I plan to return to it, I am interested to see their new tables based on real Williams' tables), but I remember my favorate one and the one I played the most was Paranormal. I kinda liked the atmosphere, the general layout and color scheme. It's not as flashy as some other tables (which is good, bc it's easier on the eyes if you play it a lot), but there are enough interesting shit to do and the difficulty is about right for me.
have you ever played fx3 games on actual cabinet like you can get from recroomworld?
Sorry, that's one thing I haven't done. I'd love to get a digital pinball cabinet at some stage, but that's a pipe dream at this stage :-)

Nice list. Such a shame that the Star Wars tables are not on the Switch. I have then on the Vita/PS4 but its not the same anymore now i have the Flip Grip. That alone makes it the best way to play pinball for me.

HI. I have heard FX 3 has changed the physics and slingshots and a lot of tables are worse here than on FX2/Zen 2. Is it worth moving my collection just because of the graphics or should I stick to FX2? Do you get used to the new mechanics?
I'm quite happy with the way FX3 plays - I have all the tables on Zen 2 as well, and haven't felt the need to go back, except for the few tables that aren't on FX3 :-)
Enrique Bonis I recommend you in spite of the slingshots, but also the graphics and the most important point is that you can import some of your tables with new features for free!!!!!

I played the tables they released on the PlayStation VR. There were only a few, unfortunately. They were pretty good though!

Interesting, my top 10 would be a lot different but some good choices. My list would probably be more Marvel-heavy, but one of my favorites across the whole line is Super Football League which unfortunately they haven't ported to FX3 yet.
I imagine they've lost those football team licenses, sadly :-(
Yeah but they've hinted that they would be converting the Zen team (the one I owned anyway) which doesn't have any licensing issues. We'll see....
These tables are are too short? for me they seems like cut by half! :D
New game dev, was thinking of making a Pinball as own project, lots of physics, lots of different interactions, and tbf many years no gut ones. that auto track ball triggers me a bit, would be better to give mouse control to view? and shoot by clicks? or keep fixed and shiit what ever keys ya please.
So, I turn off all the scores popping up.... cause that is not realistic... and the scrolling... up and down is not that great either. But, I use a Cabinet mode machine so... maybe that route?

The next table pack I would like to see is a Licensed Pack (The Addams Family, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Twilight Zone), assuming Zen has no problems getting the license for them just like FarSight before them

Of Zen's original creations, probably Pasha and Excalibur. Excalibur's probably the one I've played most of all (thanks to it being on the 3DS version and I got really hooked on that as my first Zen Pinball title), and Pasha because I have a real thing for 1001 Arabian Nights.
Zen Studios has lot of money and/or clout to secure all those big names from gaming, movies, tv show and other pop culture! 👍

I'm surprised to see Excalibur on here. I like the table well enough, but I always see people saying it's dull and boring. Not used to people saying they even like it, let alone putting it on their top 10.
Also, Ninja Gaiden isn't on FX3, only FX2.
Excalibur is fucking awesome. Anyone who thinks that is clearly shitty at pinball. You literally catapult pinballs at a castle and raid it. How could that possibly be a boring table?
You should try and cradle the ball more often. Gives more control. :)

Cradling means that you try to hold the ball(s) still at the flippers. This way the aiming will be easier. Watch this tutorial (these tutorials helped me a lot in getting better): ua-cam.com/video/s_h0FPhjuaI/v-deo.html (The dude calls it trapping the ball instead of cradling the ball though).

Since you did this video. What about any tables you dislike or are disappointed in? There's gotta be some.
Personally I hate V12. I'm not a big fan of some of the Star Wars tables. The tables like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are far from my favorites.
I LIKE the Fallout table....but It's super disappointing that they didn't do the progression thing like they did with Skyrim. Especially since it has a lot of the same elements, like a character, inventory, money, etc. It feels like it was designed to have that same Skyrim save system, but they just didn't add it in for some reason.
I think Excalibur is the second worst of all the tables after Tesla. :-P My favorites are probably Epic Quest and Mars.
i just clearly don't have the same tastes. I thought of the three games in the Alien pack, Aliens was the loser.
I liked Pasha and Moon Knight a lot, but Han Solo was one of the worse Star Wars tables. Starfighter Assault, Droids, and Clone Wars were the best.

I'm so dissapointed that I never got to play Ninja Gaiden. I only recently bought and Xbox One and unfortunately FX2 is not available anymore. I loved Moon Knight and Pasha on FX2 but haven't played them recently. I'm basically only playing the Williams tables on Classic Arcade at the moment as I love fast and intense gameplay compared to Zen originals which could go on forever on some tables (i.e. Paranormal where my total game time for my high scoring game was well over 24 hours!)

All real tables are better than only digital tables in my opinion.
I’ve bought all but 3 the tables on PS4 zen pinball now I’ve tried to import to zen fx3 and it wants me to buy the tables again which ain’t fair also I’m trying to buy ninja G on PS4 for zen and its blocked?? I bought it on ps vita and it don’t allow to import to PS4 what the hell is playstation doing the thieves. I hate PS4 for this. They keep making me pay over and over for games that I own!
The best Tables are the two for free, Fish Tales and Sorcerers Lair. I thought If the free onces are so good the others too buy must be better, great mistake. Not the flow like the two one for free. What a Marketing Gag
Hmm, I don't have strong feelings about any of these except for Moon Knight. I'm not sure it belongs on anyone's top 10 list. The table is just poorly designed.

the ONLY problem I have with the FX3/Zen tables is that ALOT of them have the exact same layout with the art and moving elements changed! The Physics of these tables is Off and I don't like the ball trail animation, Pinball Arcade is more realistic action with REAL tables!
Disable the trail animation and scores when you hit targets and try Williams tables. Those are awesome.

You don't love pinball when you are playing it on a console. Pinball is shit on a console, shit even on a PC if you are playing it on a normal monitor. The Amiga pinball fantasies and dreams were much better pinball games. I cannot play pinball now, not even on a 60 inch TV it just not play the same. The only way that I would want to play these games is on a cabinet.
