This group as so talented too and to think that they represent Philippines culture on every songs they do is a plus that just some doesn’t appreciate but what I can say they’re talent is more than K groups. Btw is just my opinion 😊
We call it the MoJiTo vocal trio (Mo, R-Ji, and Tomas). Mo and Alas both have a background in the underground rap scene before they joined Alamat. But everyone had to learn to rap because the group must rap in several languages, so they each need to learn to represent their own language.
ILY ILY is a very old Hiligaynon lullaby, sung by Ilonggos, one of the native Philippine tribes. I'm Ilongga, so I've been hearing that song since I was a child. It's original lyrics says like "Sleep for now (little one), your mom is not here. She went to the market to buy some bread." In this version of Alamat, they merged the original lullaby's message with the situation of children left behind by their parents to work abroad and earn money as OFW (overseas Filipino workers). The rap parts are mostly a message to the children who complain and rebel about their parents' absence as they grow up, missing important occasions like christmas and school graduations, not fully understanding their parents' sacrifices being away from their beloved children. The original title of the lullaby is "ili-ili" ("hele" in Tagalog), a term that refers to gentle rocking of a swing made from a blanket where babies are put to sleep. In later years, it also refers to just singing to a child to sleep even with the absence of the swing. In this song, ALAMAT gave a twist to the title and made it into "ILY ILY", in which you were right to assume that it can also mean "I love you, I love you". PS: I love watching these videos through your reaction vids. I can watch them on my own, but where's the fun in that? haha
"Ili-Ili Tulog Anay” is a folk song from the Visayas region in the Philippines. The Visayas is a group of islands in the central part of the country known for its rich cultural heritage and distinctive musical traditions. This lullaby is typically sung by parents or caregivers to lull their children to sleep.
My baby MO, you're right, he's Filipino American❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 Hahhaa true he's the spicy seasoning on our chicken. He's the complete package visuals, vocals and swag... the cherry on top🍒
Still blows my mind every time they sing, rap and rock different languages, all smoothly mashed in one delicious song. Their discography is so unique and beautifully complicated, a precise representation of the Filipino culture. To me, ILY ILY and Kasmala are masterpieces. Say U Love Me is an all-time favorite, I listen it to almost every day.
Ily ily, Awesome, poetic,, culturally rich, traditional lullaby rock, metallic, the rap, they are singing not only in Tagalog as well. I can't explain 😂 just Epic 💪👌👏👏👏👏🥰
That's Tomas - the one who can pull off female vocals! ILY ILY is Alamat's Bohemian Rhapsody!!!!! It's actually an ode to all the hardworking Overseas Filipino Workers, it has a lot of meaning to all the filipinos working away from their families.
Alamat is one of a kind. They put Filipino flavor and culture in their every song. They put twists by using their own local languages / dialect which makes them unique among ppop groups now. They are 6 young very talented individuals with their vocals and dancing skills and they are still young. Like sb19 they are live vocal monsters. I really like Alamat. Thank for this RV.❤
@@Puguita-0cto Their positions are as follows! Taneo: Leader, main dancer, sub-vocalist Mo: former co-leader, main vocalist, main rapper Jao: main dancer, sub-vocalist Tomás: main vocalist R-Ji: lead vocalist Alas: lead rapper But as always with Ppop, positions have more to do with the member's preferences/experience and not their actual abilities as they can pretty much fit any position anyway In this case, Mo has both the experience and preference as a theatre kid and an underground rapper while Tomás didn't have any experience rapping until he got into ALAMAT nor does Tomás actively want to rap even though he can rap just fine Same reason why R-Ji is almost always the one playing the guitar for their acoustic perfs even though all of them know how to play the guitar
Yes, you're right! Mo is half Filipino, half Black American😊 He is also the main vocalist and the main rapper!! But all the members can sing and rap too!✨
❤ ILY ILY tune is from ILI ILI Tulog Anay, a traditional Ilonggo lullaby which means “little one, go to sleep”. It is about a child being put to sleep by an older sister, caregiver or nanny while the mother is out buying a bread. Alamat used this as an inspiration for their ILY ILY song and change ILI to ILY (I Love You) as double meaning. The song was sung in 7 different dialects (dialects spoken by each members). The lyrics you hear is not in pure Tagalog. The lyrics talks about the sacrifices made by parents by working abroad and being away from their kids to give them a better life but the kids felt sadness and longing from their parents. Lyca is the winner of the 1st Season of The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014.
I love that in some of their songs, specifically in ILY ILY, they sang in different Filipino languages Alamat's aesthetic of showing Filipino culture through their song themes, clothing, the different Filipino dialects they include in their songs is truly beautiful
Thank you for reacting to ALAMAT once again. 👍🏽 ILY ILY taps on a double edged facet of Filipino culture. Millions of Filipino are pushed to work overseas (nurse, caregiver, mechanic, wait staff, nanny, engineers, etc) to earn more so they can support their families back home. So the next generation will be uprooted from poverty. Unfortunately, this also creates a different version of a broken home wherein children are raised by a single parent or relatives. The alienation from the parent, the ‘abandonment’ often times negatively affect the child.

Thank you for another reaction. The song "ILY-ILY" is pronounced as "ee-leeh ee-leeh" and is a lullaby in the Philippines. The MV is dedicated for OFWs or Overseas Filipino Workers. And the girl is Lyca (pronounced as "lai-cuh") is the winner of The Voice Kids wayback.
most ppop groups ive listened to have at least all all-rounder members (can sing, dance and rap). like positions aren't even really needed, tbh, since they can switch roles if they want to. some groups have all rounders and aces, and some have all aces (like sb19), too. lyca (from ily ily) is pronounced as lai-kah. she's a soloist, from a singing competition.
ALAMAT is a group I enjoy listening to next to SB19. MO is also my favorite and he's featured in Josh Cullen's LIGHTS OUT song from Josh's LOST & FOUND album. There's a lyric visualizer for it. MO also performed with Josh on his concert held a few days ago.
Hoping for ALAMAT Wish Bus Performance Reaction Part 2 (kasmala, gayuma) and Music Videos Part 3 (sa panaginip na lang, abkd, gupit, walang hanggan, kbye)🤞 kbye was their debut song!!😊
Filipino throat chakra is the basic requirement in PPop. their individual vocals are ofc up there, their adlibs are killers but what i enjoy the most: PPop Nation is harmoNation 💯
I love how you're just blasting through their videos haha Tomás is the guy with the high voice, his range is actually really tight. He can't go much lower, they (we) joke about how he looks and sounds like a kid all the time I'd say the member with the widest range would be Mo or R-Ji (the guy in the pale blue jacket next to Tomas in the Say You Love Me wishbus, also the guy with the high note in Dayang). R-Ji can go slightly higher than Mo while Mo can go sightly lower like Taneo. (Btw, you called Taneo the definition of "chiseled", you're right and he knows this with how often he showcases his jawline and goes topless) Speaking of Mo! Recently, Mo collabed with Josh of SB19 on his song "Lights Out" and they performed it together at Josh's solo concert where he called Mo a gem in the industry who deserves more opportunities, as does the entire group PPOPRISE indeed
Our boys 🤎 when I first listened to them, I was eyeing Tomas, the guy you said with the voice that sounds like a gal's. But I just can't quite help being drawn by Mo 🤎 I love them
Thanks for this wonderful reaction to Alamat! Hope you check their dance performances (especially Aswang and Maharani) and their Gayuma Wish Bus performance.
FYI: ILY ILY they are are rapping on their own dialect. ILY ILY most likely derived its title from the original folk song Hiligaynon lullaby “Ili Ili Tulog Anay.” The song points the sadness felt by kids for their OFW (overseas filipino workers) parents. it sings longingness and the desire to reunite with loved ones that are away.
Thank you for reacting to them again. Do check their Ily Ily MV, also it's pronounced as ili-ili, it's an ilonggo lullaby folk song. Please react next to their other songs, K-bye (their debut song), Hala (Performance Video), Manila Dreams (unfortunately this only has audio, but you can check their live performances), kapit (coke studio collaboration), Tibay yan (coke studio collaboration). Hehehehe. Thank you, will be waiting again. I was so excited to see your new reaction to them, and you didn't wait long to react to them again.

Hoping for ALAMAT Wish Bus Performance Reaction Part 2 (kasmala, gayuma) and Music Videos Part 3 (sa panaginip na lang, abkd, gupit, walang hanggan, kbye)🤞
kbye was their debut song!!😊
Upppp
After SB19, Alamat so far are the best one in terms of live vocals in all bg in PPOP. YML is good too, including Eclypse and 1st One.
You’re right Sammy, Tomas has a unique voice. I love his tone same with MO. 😊
next is KBYE, WALANG HANGGAN, ABKD, SA PANAGINIP NA LANG ! their discography is 🔥
Filipino throat chakra is the basic requirement in PPop. their individual vocals are ofc up there, their adlibs are killers but what i enjoy the most: PPop Nation is harmoNation 💯
I love how you're just blasting through their videos haha
Tomás is the guy with the high voice, his range is actually really tight. He can't go much lower, they (we) joke about how he looks and sounds like a kid all the time
I'd say the member with the widest range would be Mo or R-Ji (the guy in the pale blue jacket next to Tomas in the Say You Love Me wishbus, also the guy with the high note in Dayang). R-Ji can go slightly higher than Mo while Mo can go sightly lower like Taneo. (Btw, you called Taneo the definition of "chiseled", you're right and he knows this with how often he showcases his jawline and goes topless)
Speaking of Mo! Recently, Mo collabed with Josh of SB19 on his song "Lights Out" and they performed it together at Josh's solo concert where he called Mo a gem in the industry who deserves more opportunities, as does the entire group
PPOPRISE indeed
Wish Bus Ily-Ily is vocal bardagulan all-star grand finals edition
My fav vocals moe..

27:02 They all rapped in Dagundong
This song is so unique mixing pinoy different dialect ❤❤❤ respect 🇵🇭🤍🤍
More ALAMAT 🤎🤎🤎
Check "Sa Panaginip Nalang" by Alamat!!
Now it is a crime that you haven't listen to WALANG HANGGAN
Ily ily is alamat version of bohemian rhapsody version...hahahaha
Thank you for reacting to them again. Do check their Ily Ily MV, also it's pronounced as ili-ili, it's an ilonggo lullaby folk song.
Please react next to their other songs, K-bye (their debut song), Hala (Performance Video), Manila Dreams (unfortunately this only has audio, but you can check their live performances), kapit (coke studio collaboration), Tibay yan (coke studio collaboration).
Hehehehe. Thank you, will be waiting again. I was so excited to see your new reaction to them, and you didn't wait long to react to them again.
