I'm an A'Tin but I also like this group, Alamat.. They're fabulous and talented young artist..Let us continue supporting our own PPop artist..God bless Us All 😘🥰
When you were talking about the Filo artists being more passionate in music another reason is that Filipino fans are more forgiving and has less expectations towards foreign singers but has sky-high standards when it comes to local singers. That is why solo artists that made it big in the country have such insane vocals and now that PPop is starting to grow that high expectations towards these groups of singers are also there. To put it simply, to achieve success as singers in the Philippines you should have amazing and powerful vocals specially in live performances since there are regular Filipinos that could do the same or even better in karaoke.
And if it is P-Pop, you should not only sing and dance very well, you must do so with high level of synchronicity. Vocals also should be LIVE vocals. And then now the idols also write their own songs, choreograph their own dances...and because they are "idols" they must always look good 😭
From left to right (with the Philippine languages they represent) : Mo (Tagalog), Tomas (Bikol), R-ji (Waray-waray), Taneo (Ilokano), Jao (Kapampangan), and Alas (Bisaya). Many of their songs use these languages. In this particular song, there's Tagalog and Bisaya (of course, with English).
Thanks for reacting to alamat! They are also one of the great PPOP idol in the Philippines. More power to your channel. Thanks for supporting our PPOP community.
I had forgotten how much I like this song. The Wish Bus format really highlights their vocals, and the commentary helps me appreciate more of the nuance.
Wohhooo thanks for this reaction video for Alamat. They deserve more recognition! They are one of the most hardworking and talented also humble ppop groups here in the Philippines. Cant wait to seem them live at the Ppopcon!

Thank you for supporting our PPOP community josh and Lucas! You are correct we have a lot of talented artist, idol or solo artist. They are just lack of exposure.
Finally!!! So glad you finally are hearing Alamat!!! ILY ILY is incredible on the Wish bus. For me SB19 are the KINGS of Ppop but Alamat are the Princes of Ppop.

I hope no one else leaves. The 6 of them now fit perfectly with each other. Supposedly they're closer than other groups because they live with each other. I wonder if there's a problem with the management or problem with recruiting because some of them obviously joined the group with a different goal in mind.

Good luck with your plans and travels. BTW, just to push you deeper into the Filipino musical rabbit hole, I hope you get a chance to listen to Gary Valenciano's [vocal] cover of Spain [Chick Corea].)
Don't get it twisted. They were mostly using the word "dialect" to express the different "personality" and "attitude" the boys sound like when they slightly alter the way they speak and pronounce words. Not that language and dialect are the same thing which I am also aware of. I understand that it is an issue within the Philippines to think language and dialect are the same thing. Just clarifying that it's not what they meant.
@@Martin-yh7vi I agree with you and I understand what they meant with their conversation about "singing with a dialect" too. In most western countries, there is only one language which is English and everything else are dialects. It's clear and we get it. 👍 I think the commenter just meant what is said-- that they are well researched and we applaud them for that. 😊
I love how you guys discussed how their individual musicality can be considered as dialects, and it actually makes sense since they do come from different provinces and speak their own respective languages. So in a way, when the do sing the same lyrics in the same language, they would also sound as if they have different dialects, on top of when they do sing their multi-lingual verses. Fascinating! :D
listen to the song on spotify and the key change is really intended. it was building tension but then the tension was released prematurely, that's what it felt. 😅
I can’t wait for you to check out rap performances. You would further see how the language goes hand in hand with it. Most rappers here can sing as well.
Harmonization maybe not a thing there anymore but here in the Philippines, it's just normal day. No big deal. We went to some bar & restaurant last night and there's an unknown band there accepting any request song. We, being Filipinos, someone requested Bohemian Rhapsody. The band sang it like a pro. Then they requested Journey's "Open Arms" and "Don't stop believin". The non-Filipino customers were kind of shocked that one guy from their group went to sit at the front, facing the band, put both hands behind his head and swaying left and right. Lol!
Thank you for reacting to Alamat. There are currently discussions on what exactly is PPop. My response is: go check out the discography of Alamat. They are iconic PPop.
Not PPOP-related, but you might want to react to other OPM (Original Pilipino Music) artists' collab if you love harmonies as much as I do? One of my favourite live performances is a cover of OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU by JAYA, JAY R, and JAYSON DY (Artist Lab). Worth checking out!!! Also, Alamat's KASMALA is one of their earlier songs, which is also worth checking out, performed live on the Wish Bus!
This is the first ever Alamat song I've heard and the first time seeing who they are. When a new group is introduced to me, I'm always nervous of not liking them but so far their entrance to me with this is smooth. Oh gosh edit: The f*** it was freak'n smooth and a lot of bisaya lines. I'm not yet a month old being an ATIN, now I'm diving into Alamat and recently heard of VXON. This is crazy. No wonder when I watched interviews, Filipino teens knew Alamat more than SB19 at first.
"Hunger", drive, and passion are what makes PPop and Filipino music artists successful. Having grown up Filipino in the U.S., I was taught by my immigrant parents that most of the Filipino nationals grew up poor and had to find their own way to survive. They all KNOW what it's like to dream of what their lives would look like if they could lift themselves and their families out of poverty so their work ethic is bar none. They HAVE to work hard in order to survive and present their families with future opportunities and they will use whatever God-given talent they have to do so. They do NOT take life for granted.
Glad to see you appreciate Alamat. I hope you could also react to their song ILY ILY performed in wishbus (this one is with a featured artist, Lyca Gairanod) & their rappler live jam (just the 6 of them) for it ^_^ The really low one in here is Taneo, the black haired guy w/ hair w/ a middle part / loose necktie on :) You nailed the part saying that these guys actually have passion to create music together. Notably, their best vocals stayed w/ the group despite having the chance to leave the same way the other former members did
Hope you can react to ILY ILY MV. It has a great lyricism and the arrangement seems like a combination of different songs. It features strong vocals, not just from the boys... but also from Lyca Gairanod, the Voice Kids PH Season 1 Winner.
Yes! EXPOSURE!!!🙌🏻 That’s all the artists in the Philippines need! Talent? Not even a question!! looks? They have!!! Can speak & understand English?? YES THEY CAN!! Exposure is all they need! Much love from New Mexico 🇺🇸
I’ve realized that a ton of voice coaches, producers, and other music related professionals reacting to Filipinos singing on UA-cam always question key changes, dropping of jaws, opening up the mouth, etc. But growing up, these things were never a thing, around me at least. We hang out with friends all the time with food and drinks. Then peeps just start singing. I think Filipinos sing without thinking of any of those technical things. It’s mostly based on ones feelings and using music to express it. We never ever think “is this pop? Rock?.” We only really think it’s OPM because it’s a Filipino song.
We are very much americanized, the US having such a strong presence in our history. Whenever I go to the States, I would always say, ahhh feels like home. So the same thing will probly go for you guys when you come to the Philippines. There will be a lot of culture shock, but you will see A LOT of american influences as well.
This group is the only ppop group that they incorporate different 7 out of 75 dialects in their song. In this song they use 3 of our dialects. This ppop group is realy a super pop also
When it comes to ppop music composition, alamat is top tier for me. The flow, melody, hook, lyrics are well arranged to fit for their concept and voices.
Thanks Lucas and Josh for another PPop reaction video. Glad you also took notice of #Alamat, these guys are so good that deserves more great exposures in the international music scene to showcase their talent. Hope you'll get to meet them upclose in person during your attendance at the #PPopCon
@@renealcid6708 I'm a fan of both groups but Alamat totally mesmerized me and I'm barely just around 2 weeks in. "The only thing they lack is exposure." EXACTLY. We also lack TV programs and radio programs in the Phlippines where these artists can promote so it's also hard for them tp be known by thew general public here. I'm glad that SB19 is becoming big locally and internationally. And I hope that more PPop artists can break through the global market in the near future. ALAMAT is a really great and talented group that can promote the Philippine talents and culture specially with their concept. I'm rooting for them and I hope they make it big.
Our singers really focus on harmonies. Watch performances by Budakhel. They are actually 3 solo singers (Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, & Michael Pangilinan) are really close friends and often sing together in harmony, formed a trio, combined their names & called themselves BuDaKhel. They don’t seem to have sang together in the Wish bus but they do have solo performances in it. They don’t have a album because they are solo artists. They do live concerts & have singles as a trio.
I just started watching your reactions/analysis a little while ago. I must say I really appreciate your breakdowns and your commentaries. Keep on going!
That's the first thing I noticed when I first listened to their song, and this song was the first song of them that I tried to listen and I thought I was the only one who noticed and amazed by that KEY CHANGE and it was so COOOOOL for me too 💗💗💗💗 That's why I fell inlove and I this song made me curious about them and their discography🤟♥️♥️

I’m so glad that you guys endeavoured to support other struggling talented artists, often underrated. Salamat ( thanks) for discovering this group. Their harmonious vocals is becoming better overtime. There are young, adult not teenagers and growing mature with their vocals. The song conveyed passion an expressive emotion love, seemed not reciprocal. The reason why the to vocal aspect needs to be R nB ish.. soft tone In regards to PH artists behaviours compared to U S The values innate is that community values than individual values .. ALAMAT songs have a mix of different Philippine languages (not just Tagalog or Bisayan). Absolutely unique 😉 Thank you for the reaction! Hahaha I love how Josh's face crumples and Lucas' eyes go big 😆
At 14:40 Jao and Alas noticed the key change, Tomas looked for confirmation too ; but I am amazed at how quick they adapted to it anyway. So much talent!
Alamat is one of my favorite group too! They are really great and have a great talent. Everyone have a great voices! I'm an A'tin but I also support them! I wish many Filipinos notice their talents too all Ppop are great!
It'll be dope if one day Lucas and Josh will be producing for a PPop group. There's just so much potential in PPop, but they're not getting global simply because Kpop is kinda dominating the world music right now. But unlike most KPop groups, PPop focuses on "music" rather than "visuals". Except for some OG Kpop groups. In my opinion, BigBang and BTS are the only Kpop groups that put KPop music on the world map. It's okay that PPop may not be dominating the world right now because ONLY those who really know how to appreciate REAL MUSIC would be drawn towards Ppop. They don't have to copy KPop because PPop is a whole different thing.
@@cahl512 yep, they're a global Jpop group formed by AVEX and XGALX (Japanese music companies) and they're all Japanese members. They're just currently staying in Korea to promote there (but Koreans do help them, like, WANT crew leader Hyojin Choi and other people)

I'm rooting for them and I hope they make it big.
omggg thank you for this rv. ALAMAT is very underrated but trust me they're so soo good!!!
Yasss im addicted to this song
Wish bus version of "Kasmala" will blow them away. 8-member Alamat was different vocally.
Our young vocals. 🤟
Alamat is one of my fave ppop group along with sb19
Our singers really focus on harmonies. Watch performances by Budakhel. They are actually 3 solo singers (Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, & Michael Pangilinan) are really close friends and often sing together in harmony, formed a trio, combined their names & called themselves BuDaKhel. They don’t seem to have sang together in the Wish bus but they do have solo performances in it. They don’t have a album because they are solo artists. They do live concerts & have singles as a trio.
Thanks for reacting @GidKidDad! Might as well react to "Maharani" also by Alamat. It's one of my recent favorites.
I like SB19, and I like Alamat also.
thank you that you both keep exploring PPop.
OMG! I love Alamat 🤎
Love that you're going deep in Ppop! Love the reaction vid!And i think you'll enjoy watching ppop con! Hope you check out Press Hit Play too! They're in the lineup for ppopcon too!
The reason why the to vocal aspect needs to be R nB ish.. soft tone
In regards to PH artists behaviours compared to U S
The values innate is that community values than individual values .. Western values is apparent individualism. That’s why
Teams/ Groups can becomes “comrade” - team members work . Bayanihan values ..
Significant Japanese harmonic living
Can you please discover ( unsure if you guys done the r/v)
Manila Grey “TimeZones” Official Movie Video..
ALAMAT songs have a mix of different Philippine languages (not just Tagalog or Bisayan). Absolutely unique 😉
Thank you for the reaction! Hahaha
I love how Josh's face crumples and Lucas' eyes go big 😆
At 14:40 Jao and Alas noticed the key change, Tomas looked for confirmation too ; but I am amazed at how quick they adapted to it anyway. So much talent!
Alamat is one of my favorite group too! They are really great and have a great talent. Everyone have a great voices! I'm an A'tin but I also support them! I wish many Filipinos notice their talents too all Ppop are great!
With the massive amount of talent in the Philippines it is hard to succeed as a solo artist..
Kpop has started to realize that vocals are important so they try to emphasize it now with their new groups like babymonsters, XG and NewJeans.
@@cahl512 XG isn't Kpop though...
@@Ash081284 kaya pala iba ung dating nila..
@@cahl512 yep, they're a global Jpop group formed by AVEX and XGALX (Japanese music companies) and they're all Japanese members. They're just currently staying in Korea to promote there (but Koreans do help them, like, WANT crew leader Hyojin Choi and other people)
