Plenty of Fish has changed so much in the past 7 years that it lost its most loyal supporters and became irrelevant.
POF was brought out by Match Group seven years ago. The original owner was a bit autocratic telling people who they can talk to base on age and other stuff. People send messages and it says 'sent' but the server intentionally blocks the message base on a critique of the message. A lot of people weren't even receiving messages from others. Telling people who could have had kids of their own or even in their 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s who they can talk to or not talk to base on one person's mindset is: well, very creepy. POF is now worst and still more unseen blockages, the only thing is you have to pay more for it. Unfortunately, people don't read about the product they are using. Videos like this only talk about the people using it....not what's going on underneath.
Your information is totally incorrect plentyoffsh was created by Mark Frind around 2006, plentyoffish started as little home made apartment project, plentyoffish gained popularity over time eventually over coming some the biggest contenders like Match. In due time Match purchased plentyoffish from Mark for whopping five hundred million dollars. Ultimately speaking plentyoffish is worthless for meeting anyone today because the only thing you'll find on this website are bunch of bots which can't spell correctly let alone women which are posting on this site today have been there for years.

The guy who presented himself as a counsellor came out on the date today to tell me he was a convicted rapist and former drug dealer who spent 15 years in prison and just came out and straight to POF. I deleted my profile. This is not the first or second time a friend of mine or myself run into very dangerous people on there. So I think I done, done and done with that freak of a website. I know this can happen on any website but it seems POF is specifically magnet for criminals I don't know why. I also found it very weird that they ask you about your income, your job, and your post code, when they need none of that. Something dodgy is going on on that site.

So much of my time wasted I'm thinking of closing my account now. There are so many things about the sight that are hidden. Hi Gary, POF eliminated anything & everything that was useful, and somehow I doubt paying changes much of that.
The only thing men need to know about POF is 99.9% of women just want the tall, hot, chiseled, muscular, male model type. For the vast majority of us men, sending women messages however good they are worded is a complete and utter waste of time. Don't bother with it as virtually all women on there are the same. Even women in their 40s and 50s still only want these types of men! It's nothing short of insulting and degrading.
They're either muscular, chiselled looking, or they have a big build like they are competing for world's strongest man, not Arnie muscles just a very big stocky build, but not overly overweight. The typical truck driver or builder image comes to mind. Plus nearly every woman wants a beard and tattoos. What happened to the suave, clean cut men of the old days like Cary Grant, Clark Gable, etc with a nice suit and tie?. Sadly it's not just POF that is like this, I think every dating site/app is the same, certainly the free ones. Most are just on there to waste abit of time, half of em probably aren't even single.

Plenty of Fish has a huge reputation for AGE DISCRIMINATION on it's site and with the new version it has gotten worse. It's the only dating site I know that restricts users, whether upgraded or not. That you can't message users less or more in a certain age limit. They did have it set at 10 years either way before. However since the update no matter what age range you put in the filter. It will only show you users 7 years younger or 5 years older than your current age. :@

I got tons of spam but contacted a girl on POF last month. In her profile she stated that she was a FAR left liberal. I asked if she would date someone on the other side of the aisle because I hate politics and people who talk about them all the time. She didn't reply, but POF suspended my account over "inappropriate conduct." WTF?

She reported you that how this works. You report then an option list pops up for why followed by another 3 choices. Warning, delete account, and something else I forget. If they chose delete, that's it, no oversight. I know because I get at least 5 fake likes a day that promote offsite porn and other bullshit, so I have these scammers removed. The entire site is bullshit.
Someone told me my old profile from years ago is still up there and when they tried to message it, he got an on-screen alert stating " This member only accepts messages from upgraded members" when I deleted that profile years ago!!!! They are flat -out scam and should be prosecuted. I was kind of happy though because the scumbag trying to get in touch with me was a sexual predator from my past and those are exactly the mentally ill bottom of the barrel individuals on there aside from scams which are actually more polite often than the real yet deranged guy's, strange as it seems. It's dangerous and I'm surprised the site hasn't been sued or taken down, for a multitude of reasons.

POF REFUSED TO AUTO-RENEW MY SUBSCRIPTION. I use paypal and POF said it was paypal fault. I checked and it's not true. Then POF blame me for turning auto-renew off. Again not true. It is hard to contact POF because they refuse to talk on phone. POF has no respect for its cutomers.

This NEW plenty of fish website SUCKS! Tried to log in to a new account I had to create because it wouldn't take my new phone number.
So after I made a new account I logged out. Went to log back in and USED THE WRONG password from my old account. NO OPTION TO OPT OUT so I can use the correct password and log in.

A hundred million users on POF?! That’s a lot of users. Still, even if there were three hundred million users on POF I’d be willing to bet money that if I tried for years, maybe even decades, I would not be able to find anyone for me, even if I lowered my standards. Strange review. Title says 2022, video was uploaded in 2020. Watching in 2023 is strange coz the site was redesigned and looks different in 2023. Yes, many free features like the dating game cue up with allows you to play and match with people you may like

It used to be better. In the old layout in 2019 I got a date because you could message people for free. Since rejoining in 2022 it's more difficult to navigate and I had to get premium to ensure I could message people, but it turns out you need to spend extra on tokens along with already purchasing premium to get all the premium features. It's not as good as tinder (which now owns POF) because I was able to get more dates from tinder. POF is better than bumble though because I deleted my bumble profile and cut my losses 2 months into a 3-month premium subscription. The woman is supposed to message first on bumble so I couldn't message matches because the few that did swipe right wouldn't even say hi. It's depressing to think they only swiped right by accident. So if you're not a photogenic (I'm not ugly) or filthy rich man avoid bumble. The other issues I have with POF are that messages don't always get through, sometimes only the 1st sentence of a message will get through, my extended profile says I will date smokers but I won't and I can't change it and I haven't come across spam profiles yet but I have in the past so it could happen again.

No...you don't have to pay a damn thing. That's just the convenience of faster communication + being able to see the profile of those who clicked they liked/want to meet you and a few other things. But it isn't needed still to this day 6-12-21 to pay for it.
Money doesn't make a user interface prettier or function better. Website designers and programmers do. People. Just want to make that point.
POF was fine until they changed the format based on of course greed. Things really started going downhill around 2015. Of course now online dating in general is terrible whereas 10 years ago and before it wasn’t bad at all. Just my experience.

You're the fool if you think females are the ones catered to on a site that makes its money off of the males!! Fact that men are who pay for these sites and they are the ones treated accordingly, NOT the other way around. That site removed my decent normal pictures claiming they violated policy and only kept the pictures of me with just my bathing suit and another with only my tank top, basically the most revealing pictures were kept up there because somehow those didn't violate. We know what they're selling and to what audience!!
