As someone in their 50’s using this site, it’s polluted with fake profiles of attractive older men, and the person behind the profile is using it to for catfishing. The fake profiles were so obvious. It became just a waste of time!
I was on POF and replied to every man who contacted me. When I wasn't interested, I sent them a message telling them the reason (not enough in common, too far a distance, age difference, etc) and wished them well. Those I chatted with were either only interested in commenting on my pictures, skeptical (although they contacted me), or interrogated me. It was so frustrating I deleted after two weeks. I was naive about POS. I didn't know that it's where people go when they're troubled, fat, shy, etc. No wonder some of the men were skeptical! Never again! If I try online dating again, it will be on a site I know is reputable.

My Account got hacked! They changed my photos and city/state - which effected the messages I received. I kept changing it back, but somehow they changed the email as well and I got locked out of my own account. I wrote Customer Service 3 TIMES!!!!!to verify the account was in fact mine and they NEVER responded. So now, all my pictures are out there somewhere and I have NO ACCESS TO MY OWN ACCOUNT!!!!! BE CAREFUL!

I was on POF years ago. I always responded unless it was crude. I really was looking for a good guy, not a super handsome guy. I am now 55 years old and single again. I do not feel there is much hope for a real relationship any more.

I have been more and more discouraged with any dating site. I don't get replies to messages. When a woman messages, she often turns out to be a psycho or stops talking to me after several seemingly good conversations, and the one that actually dates me for a while doesn't commit to a relationship because a "hotter" guy comes along and he was just using me for company for a few months until the other hot guy became interested. It is hard to find a good woman who will be your best friend for life anymore. If I didn't have a daughter, I wouldn't even bother trying to find a good mother for her.
It's not just you, I've also gotten very discouraged on these sites. Too many women seem to be looking for someone to fit their own agendas, and they don't care about a relationship as much as getting their wants met. I haven't found a genuine caring woman on these sites yet.

Biggest problem with online dating for men is this. For every 1 women on the site, you have 500 guys lol These girls (Even average looking ones) get 100 messages a day, so it’s hard to stand out in the crowd. I mean, if a girl has 100 messages to read and reply back to, the odds of it being you are slim. You just get lost in the shuffle. The odds are slanted against the men big time on dating sites.

I've been on and off POF for the last 5 years now and like most I've had good dates and bad dates. I don't see a problem with POF in general but lack of communication skills or just consideration between men and women. Sure there are fake people and scammers but you can find them anywhere. POF is the only site I know of where you can communicate for free. Don't hate the game, hate the players. Men's #1 complaint, women don't respond. I hate that too. I've been blocked without even saying "hello". Women are becoming more self centered and brutal than they used to be. Their standards for men are unrealistically high making dating very difficult. So you see, none of this is the fault of POF. It's the fault of today's women.
I was getting routinely blocked or ignored on eHarmony and Christian Mingle. But then to be fair, I have done my share of not responding as well...Usually when it is obvious the person didn't read my profile and isn't even remotely what I am looking for.

I just stumbled upon this comment but figured I'd add something. Men also get that too, as men are expected hairy (beard, chest hair etc) and look tough. That you must be manly and dominate at all times. That you have to have big arms and dress like a chad. Neither men or women get away from those things, so just to say only women have that aspect in society is wrong. However, it makes online dating hard, because both sides want that "ideal person" when most of the time it isn't realistic.

If your a prostitute you no longer even want to date the guy and now everything is awkward... And let's not mention the whole I just want sex thing. I've met a guy and it ended up he only wanted sex so now I feel like the whole pof site is just about sex so now I just go on there too see if someone go to the bar. And even that's hard to do. And he's right spot of the people on there have social anxiety... Me included... That's why there on the or just looking for hookups... I got a couple of girls numbers on that site. However, it never got serious because they were looking for a quick hook up. I don’t do that kind of thing anymore. The issue with POF is that there's far more men on the site than women. Women can pick whomever they want and they do not have to compete. Obviously they'll go for the richest best looking guy they can find. But in reality, most of the women there are overweight and repulsive. So they shouldnt get too picky.

You are exactly rite . I also made a fake profile with a less than average lady (no offence . She was ) and she got 42 messages 344 meet me's and 64 views in 24 hours before I deleted it. Iv been on pof for 3 years I'm 52 and look after myself not over weight and have never been short of female company . Iv had 177 meets 189 views and probably 25 messages in that time. I actually paid pof and that was worse as when you send a message it tells you when the read it but also tells you if they didn't read it and deleted you without reading your message that you have spent time writing.

Met a new man, he seemed nice, but after meeting when he was getting to leave he said the word 'marriage' , he knew i made more then him, did a 'background ' he had extensive criminal issues in court, lots of DUI's, domestic violence, and found he had been w/ a 27 yr. old (he is 53) , so ladies, he seemed 'nice' and talked 'future' and is very sick w/ liver disease from 'drinking' , an alcoholic , (still?)... he kissed me like a person would kiss their 'grandma' i did not feel his action matched our phone calls. As someone in their 50’s using this site, it’s polluted with fake profiles of attractive older men, and the person behind the profile is using it to for catfishing. The fake profiles were so obvious. It became just a waste of time!
I was on POF and replied to every man who contacted me. When I wasn't interested, I sent them a message telling them the reason (not enough in common, too far a distance, age difference, etc) and wished them well. Those I chatted with were either only interested in commenting on my pictures, skeptical (although they contacted me), or interrogated me. It was so frustrating I deleted after two weeks.
I was naive about POS. I didn't know that it's where people go when they're troubled, fat, shy, etc. No wonder some of the men were skeptical! Never again! If I try online dating again, it will be on a site I know is reputable.

I've been on and off POF for the last 5 years now and like most I've had good dates and bad dates. I don't see a problem with POF in general but lack of communication skills or just consideration between men and women. Sure there are fake people and scammers but you can find them anywhere.
POF is the only site I know of where you can communicate for free. Don't hate the game, hate the players.

I just stumbled upon this comment but figured I'd add something. Men also get that too, as men are expected hairy (beard, chest hair etc) and look tough. That you must be manly and dominate at all times. That you have to have big arms and dress like a chad. Neither men or women get away from those things, so just to say only women have that aspect in society is wrong. What it really boils down to about this site and dating sites in general , from a man's point of view(ladies I'm sure you have yours) is the following:
1) you have these rude over-the-hill heffers that are fakes or with unrealistic expectations that are a 4 or maybe a 5 holding out for a 10! Get real!
2) You have the type who is on here to see how much attention she can get for her looks. To those I say please move on. There are beauty pageants for that sort of thing. You just might not be as hot as you delusionaly think you are if you need POF as a beauty contest that you would probably not win in real life.
3) Then you have the type who have less than stellar looks becoming overnight narcissists due to the attention they are getting in an environment with a 7 to 1 male/female rstio. Ladies get real. There are lots of guys who will tell you anything to get your cooperation. You know what I mean. So keep it real.
4) Then you have the insecure types that have an account to make their boyfriends jealous. Keep looking, and you just might find your current boyfriend on here.
5) And if they've been divorced, they've probably been slapped around quite a bit emotionally and/or physically and now have a twisted vendetta against men and delight in being rude or hostile to them, such as automatically blocking guys for no reason.
6) Then we can't leave out the heffers looking for a boy toy. Hey, if you were all that, your husband wouldn't have divorced you to begin with.
7) Which leaves us with the honest woman trying to honestly find a decent guy. But they are vastly outnumbered by the others. So good luck in finding her.

Hello, I just wanted to let you know, as a woman whose been on p.o.f for almost 4 months, I'm going to say that 80% of the guys who text woman are scammers. They say they are overseas and will be back at some point, but are really from nigeria........I've been scammed, and after a while with all of the good looking guys that fall in love with you in one day..........I would say out the of maybe 200 guys I have chatted with (both e-mailed them first and they e-mailed me first) were scams of some sort.
