Have O9K and as of a couple weeks ago the S9. Will try to have a meaningful test soon. initial impression is they are about the same in sound. But S9 is an improvement in many ways. Worth the extra cost IMO.
Glad to see the YHM R9 on this. It happens to be the first can I bought this year when Form 4 approval times dropped. Took exactly 7 days from certified to approved. Now if I could just get my PSA Dagger Full size to cycle with it; and yes, I'm using a Booster/Piston.
@@CalebDowning Yah, I actually suspected that could be the issue after thinking about it and realizing that the piston/Nielsen devices has metal parts and moves,. I've since bought some lithium grease after a Google inquiry but have not had a chance to try it out. Problem is that unless you already know, nowhere does it mention on the YHM product pages for the suppressor or the Nielsen devices nor are there any instructions with the products that tell you you are supposed to use anything like that.
As far as it being heavy. It's not nearly as bad as the B&T 7.62 RBS SF can I got for my 8" 300 BLK pistol build. It weighs in at somewhere around 24 Oz I believe
@ecobasetech4558 Ya know, that’d make a good quick video idea. Keeping the system lubed is easy but, like you said, it isn’t talked about or explained much.
A lot going on here and I won't be able to write it all because nobody will read an essay but first off, WTH is this channel still so underrated? I have all of these + SiCo Spectre9 (very recently) and HUXWRX Rad9. Most of my experience is at indoor ranges as I don't have easy access to open space. The Mod9SK is my least favorite in that environment (CCX loudest but due to ultra-niche gets a pass) and the O9K is the quietest. S9 is going to be very similar, have yet to really try it out. S9 notably lighter and the steel booster assembly (almost half the weight) puts the weight bias far rearward so it feels very different, much better. It should run direct thread on non-tilt guns, will try this on my B92 sometime soon. Hopefully. One thing you didn't expound on was the upside of shooting in 20F in Alaska already: you get to clearly see the blowback. There is a very noticeable difference in cans and ammo. If someone wants to use one of those Flux Raider deals + K can your face is going to be up close and just today I tried out the One Shot Systems "brace" with my PPQ Q4 Tac and my EDC suppressor, the Odessa9 with baffles 4-10, and I got blasted with gas face. Made eyes water for hours plus breathing that toxic crap. I will try again with the Rad9 and see how much the flow-through design helps with this. The R9 kills all the report on my Scorpion, all I hear is action noise. The R9 is an excellent SMG can and what it was meant for. Don't forget it is 1.56" wide, not really meant for pistols. If you want to add some real variety to your lineup, get a HUXWRX Rad9. The S9 is very similar to O9K so not much variety for about the same price as a Rad9. Nothing else like it with hybrid flow through baffles. This is my favorite can. It is expensive for a pistol can at nearly $800 but you get what you pay for. It is a complex design thus expensive to make but the flow through is a great feature and incredibly quiet at ear outside. Lastly, you really should reduce that Odessa9 to maybe 5 baffles as it is not anywhere near K size in this video. Also, try to shoot against a hill or something were some sound bounces back so you get a sense for how each one might sound downrange. You'll find out what the Mod9SK does with all that noise.
Man just got approved for my first rifle can but am out of town for work of course. Going to put my first pistol can in jail when i get to go pick the rifle can up eventually lol. Think you may have talked me into the cgs been up in the air on it or the omega 9k.
Haha, Murphy’s law 🤦♂️😂 For a pistol K can that Mod9SK is hard to beat. If you know its purpose and limitations and don’t plan to use it out of its wheelhouse, then I think you’ll be very pleased with it 👌
the video wasn't short.... it was just a "K" video.. perfect for this application. lol
and i'ld like to see the spectre 9 in the line up
Haha, I see what you did there 😉
We’ll see what we can do about that Spectre 9 🤔

For the $$$, the YHM R9 is a pretty good bang for your buck!
Agreed 👍

The R9 is heavy and really needs to be well lubed to run well. That’s the best advice I can give for ya.

Thanks for the input. Must say.. I have no regrets with any of my CGS purchases. #Mod9K #Hyperion762

I have the cgs. Loaded up some 147 grain subs last night (about 800 fps). Super impressed. It was really quite.
Nice! 💪
If you roll your own loads then you should try the 165 gr projectiles from X-Treme Bullets👌
@CalebDowning I'll check'em out. Thanks for the info!
How am I just now learning that you are based out of Alaska?!
🤷♂️ We’ve been up here for a few years now ⛰️😎

Anyway you can show how you wet a can and what you prefer to use?
That would make an excellent video. We’ll put that on the books 👌
Dude it’s weird that you refer to them as “he, him”. Just call them by their names.
