  • Bluesound speakers are great , the sound is in a class of its own!
They have many music services but the instructions for setting them up with Alexa is lacking so this is a quick guide to explain how to stream Alexa easily and quickly on Blouseound speakers.

of course, this is a possible workaround. But best way should be, to use a network connection between blueos and alexa. not over bluetooth. I still did not figure out, how this works.

If you want to optimize your signal path, you can also configure the AUX port at the back of an Amazon Echo (4th gen) as output and feed that into the AUX in at the back of your Bluesound device (or any device with AUX in really). This way the signal that arrives at your Speaker/Amp hasn't gone through the inevitable Bluetooth compression. Keeping the signal path as short as possible and avoiding lossless transmission is key. In this respect, WiFi streaming is also superior to Bluetooth, because, depending on the implementation, it can use a buffered stream that can support higher bitrates/lossless audio. Bluetooth acts like a more direct feed and requires compression, because the range of devices that implement BT is huge. A battery-driven Bluetooth device will not necessarily have the memory to buffer a high res audio stream. The lowest common denominator of the standard is what limits Bluetooth ... but I digress.

This is absolutely the worst way to do this.
You’re not even using the Alexa functionality of the speaker. You might as well plug the speaker in with a 3.5mm jack.
