Hi. Just starting the OTC hearing aid search. I really appreciate your information on UA-cam. I’d like to ask a couple of questions, please.
I wear hats and sunglasses or reading glasses most of the time. Where are the microphones located on the over ear units and are they compatible with hats and sunglasses? I can’t let no hearing aids be messin’ with my style.
Can your wear either in or over ear type when lounging on the couch watching TV and laying on your side, head pressed into a pillow? I realize they won’t pick up sound, but will they be uncomfortable?

Are the any good in ear OTC hearing aids that are rechargeable and don’t need frequent changes of batteries? I’m stylish and lazy.
    Thanks,
    Maury

Hello Maury and thanks for the kind words.
The microphones of behind-the-ear hearing aids are located on the top of the device. This may cause slight "scratching" or "clicking" noises if your hat or classes come in contact with the hearing aid body. However, this is generally not a big issue in general use. In short, many people successfully wear behind-the-ear style devices with both glasses and hats.
You can wear either style while watching television. However, you will likely experience a whistling sound (feedback) and discomfort if you are laying on your side with your ear pressed against a pillow. It can also put undue stress on the earwire of behind-the-ear hearing aids leading to premature malfunction. If it's an in-the-ear style you may be able to make it work by muting the device so long as it doesn't cause pressure points when in your ear.
We have found many viable OTC rechargeable products. You can find a list of our 2023 Expert Choice winners which is our "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval" here: hearadvisor.com/2023-winners
      Hope that helps!
