That's what I believe. At least some what that the WG were "good" guys at least from their perspective and they did what they believed was right for their people and over time it got corrupt. Just like real world govts have over the years

I think i‘ve got an okish Void Century theory.
900 years ago the 20 kingdoms fought against the Ancient Kindom that had the Ancient Weapons.
To win against the Ancient Kindom the 20 Kings needed a weapon themselfs and created the Devil Fruits (maybe it was a stolen technology, maybe it was their own technology, doesnt really matter).
But those original DF also had similar side effects as the Artificial DF we see currently in One Piece:
It made some people laugh uncontrollably.
To protect themselfs the 20 Kings used those failed DF on some of the slaves they gathered during the war (slaves=reocurring theme), mainly from the AK.
The 20 Kings killed the slaves that ate fully functional DFs, reincarnated the DFs in new fruits and ate them to gain the powers without side effects.
But the failures still lived as slaves for the now forming WG and maybe they were the last survivors of the AK.
Those slaves still laughed, even if they were about to die. So the laughing smile on their face became their trademarks and they put a smiley face in their names: D
One day those slaves escaped from the place they were held and that place became just a tale about laughing people: Laugh-Tale.
The slaves sworn to take revenge on the WG but they never managed to so. But the spirit lives on in their
bloodlines. The offsprings of the slaves still shows signs of the curse when they are near death by smiling.
Thats why the clan of D is the sworn enemy of the Celestial Dragons.

SammyTV to be fair, the series is very long and a bit intimidating. I can understand not wanting to take on a 960 chapter series that’s ongoing especially if you’re like an adult with responsibilities. It’s a huge time commitment, worth it but still too much for a lot of people

Perhaps the One Piece world was similar to our own before the void century (with large continents as opposed to many islands) but the use of the ancient weapons destroyed the land and made the world what is today.

They're waiting for the Dawn now so that wouldn't make sense. The era after the history is revealed and the Celestials are shut down will be know as the Dawn. That's what the Minks said.

I think the most interesting thing is Rayleigh said he knew what happened in the void century when Robin asked. But he seemed indifferent to the information, like its good to know but it makes no difference to him and the fact the he and Rodger didn't think it was necessary to tell the world what they found out.

Nux did one of the fruit categories for tekking’s DF contest and tekking goes on rant cafe semi-regularly, and participated in his one piece arc discussions and stuff. It’s a beautiful little friendship between two memey weebs
The world government would like to know your location
Personally, I think something like 5000 years ago the world was in a bit war and the only place that survived was Raftelle. The sole reason the red line and the grand line exist is because of that war and the high tech of that era. 800 years ago one of the member of the 20 families found out that his family was descended from the officers that survived that ancient war and that the 20 families had kept really high tech locked away, he started a revolution that lasted 100 years and is the reason for the new world's strange islands. He lost and at the end, to ensure something like that couldn't happen again the 20 families all gathered together. My headcannon is also saying there were no devil fruits until 800 years ago, and that that was part of the tech that was being kept hidden.
AlucardNoir I theorize that One Piece story is about the All Blue. Before void century, the world is in one piece of all blue. After void, it is split into 4. I am guessing that the Poseidon is capable to make use of sea kings to create the calm belt and, hence, the grand line. And, probably pluton is a weapon to destroy island to pieces; meanwhile, Uranus is capable to construct the red line. So, to restore the world into one piece, you need Poseidon to remove the calm belt, Pluton to destroy the red line and Uranus to rearrange the island formation.
@@alexanderstanza That was my thought as well but then the New World was revealed and the admirals battle pretty much removed that idea from my mind. The new world is clearly a product of devil fruit abuse. There would be no reason for it to exist as it is now if 900 years ago they could fight with so much power so as to create the Calm Belts and the Red and Grand Lines. But if the Red and Grand Line existed already, then it would make sense that the New World would be the product of multiple awakened devil fruit users fighting with one another.
The scary thing is the Gov trying to rewrite history is going on irl in the us when it comes to certain topics that shit is scary

Well humans lifespan is larger in one piece than in real life and it doesnt have to be generation to generation so grandson takes over from grandfather or even great grandfather plus the lifespan it sounds right to me

This is late but that would support the Raftel being the ancient kingdom theory. So I have an extremely crazy theory about everything before and during the Void Century that is only based on the Strawhat, the D. Clan, the World Nobles, the World Government, and Devil Fruits. So get some tinfoil hats. Ready? Here we go:
So way back before the void century, there were 21 noble families. 20 of these families created the World Government, but only 15 of them are considered World Nobles, the first 10 being Tenryubito, and the last 5 being the Gorosei. The rest split off, left and made their own kingdoms. Except 1. The only family who defected and chose a different life. They chose a simpler life. They became farmers, but not just any farmers, they dabbled in alchemy and dark arts, and produced a new produce: Devil Fruits. A strange but powerful type of fruit that upon consumption, gave the consumer incredible powers at the cost of being weak to saltwater and a newly found substance called Seaprism Stone. This exiled group had one common trait: they all wore Strawhats. But the World Government feared them and called them sworn enemies of the gods, labelling them as the D. Clan. D as in Devil. This led to a 100 year war, in which only a few members of the D. Clan survived. Basically a genocide. Those that survived left whatever island they were on and went somewhere to hide. This event was stripped from any records or history books. It was retitled and changed. It became the Void Century. A century in which no one knew what was going on in the world, except of course the World Government. They made sure to hide away this event as anyone who found out would realize that the W.G. had blood on their hands. Innocent blood I might add.
I have some more I might add but for now, I rest my case.
Dragon has Uranus, Imu has Pluton (controlled via the throne), and we know Poseidon.
The yonkou aren't a problem, they are the final villains.

In Void century king of Alabasta called Imu Nefretari gifted powerful artefacts called Pieces to 19 kings and using the One Piece To Rule Them All he bent their minds to his will and created an alliance that defeated the ancient kingdom. He then took the kings to Mariajois and used them as puppets to control the whole world. The One Piece was however stolen by a hero called Joy Boy and he journeyed further then WG ever could and hid it on an island he named Laughter.

What if the One Piece is a bunch of treasure with a little box that contained a single devil fruit tree seed along with a written letter passed down by acquaintances of JoyBoy explaining the true extent of the World Government’s censorship regarding the Void Century?
Tekking, don't you find it odd that the Kozuki clan was responsible for carving and transferring the ancient language into the poneglyphs, AND they are responsible for closing the boarders of Wano. Now that the "Dawn" is coming, Oden wanted to open the boarders. It seems like the Kozuki clan had a reason to isolate themselves from the world (government), and now that the balance of power in the world is shifting the Kazuki's will start interacting with the world again in the form of opening Wano.
Never heard of one piece. This show seems like it has a well constructed world with its own history
Bicboi0501 KΔϺI it does but it is hugely integral to the storyline and the author doesn't want to reveal it all yet lol
Unfortunately the show is for kids and despite having adult themes is pretty much always pushed to the side by the lighthearted tone. There is also the problem with the sheer length of it all and just how little progress we have gotten in terms of actual story. Character development is a big problem and despite the world building being extremely strong it is held back by the author and his reluctance to actually expand upon it and reveal more things.
At its core one piece is not for everyone, it has problems and a pretty big amount of plot armor. There is soo many problems with the series that counting them all would be a huge task but in summary, one piece despite its incredible length seems to always lack a significant amount of progress in terms of plot and story.
I mean most people that jump on the one piece bandwagon can recall 2 or 3 arcs that were actually outstanding with only 1 being the pinnacle of the series and not ever being surpassed despite soo many years having passed.

I wonder if there is information to be found in the sunken sections of Water 7. Wouldnt the true shipyard that built Pluton be there? When Iceburg turns Water 7 into a Thriller Bark-esque ship, he is not going to chop the island off at the waterline so all that is going to come to the surface soon.
There is also something curious about Tom being a shipwright there. We know that Fishmen on the surface is a VERY rare thing, Tom being a Fishman could explore the submerged Water 7 all he wanted.

in the latest chapter when Garp says something about Alabasta I think it has something to do about ancient weapons and is a lead up to readers getting a greater understanding of the void century. I believe this for two main reasons 1) Alabasta of all places was the place where "something happened" and we all know the history of Robin, ALabasta and the ancient weapon there/the poneglyph. 2)The Reverie just happened and celestial dragons have been talked about more and more and the world government is desperate and etc etc so its very good timing for something huge to happen possibly involving the void century

Something I just noticed. The Kozuki clan existed 900 years ago. Oars lived 400 years ago. Eather the Kozuki clan is older than Wano or oars did not create Wano. Niether is confirmed just two contredictary theories

Poneglyphs can't be made from kairouseki, otherwise Robin would have exhibited weakness symptoms when reading the one in Alabasta, or Brook couldn't have gotten rubbings of the Road Poneglyph in Totland.
im 90% positive the world gov has the fourth road poneglyph, its the best way to prolong the yonko stalemate and prevent a future pirate king by keeping one of the necessary pieces locked up

I'm fairly sure the excuse for killing the Oharans was that they were trying to recover the Ancient Weapons to destroy the world. And that was the real reason everyone hated Robin. Not just her bounty. That was the carrot, but she got her epithet of 'Devil Child' for a reason.

Maybe we will learn about the void century in elbaf.I mean look a the lifespan of giants that can life hundreds of years. There is a good chance some of them passed down some info about what happened during that time to future generations of giants.
What happens if Nico Olvia is a descendant of Princess Kaguya of Japanese mythology? Think about it:
1. The poneglyph text is found on the moon. Kaguya is from the moon.
2. The words were carved in Wano. Wano is based on Japan where the Princess Kaguya myths stems from.
3. Olvia looks nothing like the rest of her family. Kaguya supposedly did not look anything like the family she was adopted into
4. Kaguya was beautiful. Olvia is beautiful.
5. The government fawned over Kaguya and tried to keep her under lock and key. The World Government wanted to keep Olvia under lock and key until she escaped.
6. Olvia is from Ohara which has a giant tree. Kaguya sent one of her suitors to a island to retrieve a branch of a holy tree. That island's name was Hōrai. Ohara, Hōrai, very close. Looking at the legend of Hōrai we find hints that tie the island potentially back to Japan itself further strengthening this point.
7. The Japanese legend of Hōrai says that it is filled with death and sorrow, and what do you know Ohara gets buster called out of existence.
8. In the tale of Kaguya she does go back to the moon at the end of her story. We can take this one of two ways when it comes to Olvia: Either "going back to the moon" is a metaphor for going to heaven aka she is dead from the buster call, or we can literally say that as the buster call was happening she was transported back to the moon in some way. I would go the more metaphorical route where ascending to the moon is dying and going to heaven here, but I know a lot of people think Olvia possible survived the buster call.

Tekking, I would recommend looking into the SCP Foundation. The varying styles of writing that are constrained in one format of storytelling, the continuity that has everything but internal logic, the crap-shoot nature of the anomalies mixed with the oddly specific nature of the containment procedures...it's weird but I f*cking love it
Even if it's not your type of storytelling I'd specifically recommend SCP-2000. The ideas behind it are essentially what the world government may have done. Plus, SCP-2000 is a pretty good introduction to the absurdity of the SCP Foundation if you're unfamiliar

Addendum: The Foundations efforts to restore human civilization to pre ⬛K class event are currently underway. After several hundred years of effort the current date of completion is expected to occur on Jan. 1, ⬛⬛⬛⬛, to coincide with [redacted]. Anomalous events that have led to these delays are believed to have been connected to a number of individuals who are known to have gained anomalous properties through eating ⬛
These individuals will be refered to as instances of SCP-5656-J-1.
Anomalous properties of instances of SCP-5656-J-1 have been known to include; [Redacted], [Redacted], [Redacted], and one instance of SCP-5656-J-1 who ate the ⬛ fruit and proceeded to dramatically lose weight. SCP-5656-J-1 stated that food would "slide" right through her. After initial joy over their good fortune SCP-5656-J-1 experienced severe nutrient deficiency quickly leading to death.

As well as the fact that all SCP-5656-J-1 instances are known to have gained their anomalous properties from eating ⬛, they often have many other qualities in common.
All individuals identified as instances of SCP-5656-J-1 have shown an inability to swim or even tread water. In fact all instances of SCP -5656-J-1 have shown a lack of vitality and had their anomalous properties negated when submersed in any body of water large enough to cover the majority of their body.
Many instances of SCP-5656-J-1 are also known to take up a life of piracy. This includes instances of SCP-5656-J-1 dressing in attire typical of pirates throughout world history as well as attaining great sailing ships outfitted with whole crews of subordinates.
This seafaring lifestyle seems to be in direct contradiction with logic as the ocean is the one place that instances of SCP-5656-J-1 are most vulnerable
Crew member may be non-anomalous humans, additional instances of SCP-5656-J-1, or they may be individuals who possess any number of additional anomalous properties. All individuals belonging to the crew of an SCP-5656-J-1 instance are to be observed and detained if if it can be achieved without causing alarm to instances of SCP-5656-J-1.
MTF ⬛ will be assigned to containment sight ⬛ where SCP-5656-J is held to be held. MTF ⬛ are to detain any instance of SCP-5656-J-1 trying to gain access to SCP-5656-J.
Most instances of SCP-5656-J-1 are attracted to SCP-5656-J and refer to it as the "⬛⬛", which they believe to be the world's greatest treasure. While SCP-5656-J-1 instances are attracted to SCP-5656-J they seem to have difficulty finding it. The only known occasion where an instance of SCP-5656-J-1 was known to locate SCP-5656-J was on ⬛. No other SCP-5656-J-1 have since been able to locate it due to the Foundation's continued disinformation campaign.
Water and a mineral refered to as "⬛⬛ stone" are known to be effective countermeasures to the anomalous properties of SCP-5656-J-1. Other, more lethal means may be effective in subduing or terminating instances of SCP-5656-J-1 dependent on their specific anomalous traits.
Efforts to contain instances of SCP-5656-J-1 are ongoing but due to limited success in securing them it is expected that they will continue to interfere with the use of SCP-2000. Revise completion date as necessary due to the interference of SCP-5656-J-1
