- Thoughts on why Buggy doesn't mention or discuss the One Piece treasure with anybody? Could it be out of respect of Roger or fear of what the treasure actually is?

That's because the name raftel, on it's own is meaningless, cause all we ever had up until stampede was just the katakana. Oda deliberately kept it ambiguous for years so fans can guess what it means, and only recently dropped the English spelling as a clue for the 20th anniversary of the anime.
Still, Raftel was cool! Laftel would also have been ambiguous but i feel like it would have been was less nice
but actually , its a laugh tale before roger found it , it's like tale nolan spread around , and people laugh about it because they think's it's a BS , something like that , so probably roger name it laugh tale , maybe we have the "official name" of the island later on

@@DeeeFoo Well Laugh Tale actually makes sense, unlike Levely. A lot of people are already switching to Laugh Tale, whereas hardly anybody is using Levely, cause it doesn't seem to make any sense.

Whenever I heard Raftel before, I used to think of Donkey Kong Country 3, where you can go on your raft around 4 specific rocks and make a secret island come out of the water, which in retrospect seems very similar to the representation we got of Laugh Tale in the manga.
Buggy could have a moment like he had with white beard and ace where it’s a matter of pirates pride and that’s why he doesn’t go after the treasure
The only difference I can see is that the Christmas lights around your door are on.
Serious question, is buggy more of a shanks than shanks, has he been guiding Luffy to the one piece since his first appearance?
- He was on Rogers crew with shanks
- he would know the history of the straw hat and will of D
- knows what the one piece is and has never revealed it or the desired to have it
- he probably knows (like shanks) who roger is waiting for
- he has helped and fought luffy on many occasions
Just thought of this while watching the video, I’m starting to think buggy will have a bigger impact to the story besides being great comedic value
Buggy didn’t see the one piece or shanks, buggy caught a mysterious illness and shanks stayed to comfort him since he was the only one that wasn’t gonna see the one piece

When I first saw the name "Laugh Tale", I immediately knew that island was named by Roger himself.
I dont remember who, but i remember watching someone theorising on UA-cam that the name of the island would actually be "LaughTale" before Stampede was even announced.
Anyone else remmeber it?
I have a similar memory of someone suggesting that "Raftel" was actually "Laughter", because of the Japanese L/R thing.

To be honest: I think buggy is actually strong and knows how to keep a secret. Remember: the government didn't know til forever after Roger's execution, and he sailed beside some of strongest pirates we've know. I think he is just not as confident as he used to be, seeing as his closest peer is Shanks, and probably one of the people who taught buggy his tricks and how to fight was one of the Roger crew. I'm not saying he was one of the strongest members. But like.... Maybe the weakest member in a line of extremely powerful "we will fuck up your day six ways to next Sunday" crew
I think at best, he's not as strong as he could've been. Had Buggy gone out and explored the grand line, trained and recruited better people initially, rather than terrorizing civilians and weak pirate crews in the East Blue, he could've become way stronger. But since he stayed in the East Blue not really doing anything to get stronger, all that potential is now pissed down the drain.
Some people just don't have super strength . Buggy is a trickster a jester, that's his only Forte and he should stick with that , maybe more like Usopp .After all we've seen that he has at least some experience with crafting explosives,so I don't know...
@Kruv Mezulari Ok, maybe not completely pissed down the drain, but he will never reach his full potential given he's pretty much stagnated/made very minimal progress in 20 years. I mean, if he was anywhere near as strong as Shanks was in his youth he could very well be near-yonkou level. Now, it's probably maybe around Doflamingo level at best, but more likely around Law's level, given how much time he wasted.
@Kruv Mezulari you say this but the guy probably has clashed with the whitebeard crew in it's prime, sailed through the entire grandline when as far as we know it was basically lawless, and may or may not have been there at the one pieces Discovery. If he was a weak member, he probably would have died. I'm not saying he's power three levels of strength, but maybe like the nami/ussop of the crew. He can handle himself in a fight but otherwise would try and stay back and let the bigger guys due the work
@@TRIC4pitator well. What makes me wonder this is one of the movies. First off, I know they aren't canon, I just think Oda would be consulted on the subject of "okay what would the general layout of the Roger crew be and how did they look". Now in the battle against Shiki, who as far as we know, might have been a Yonko of Roger's time, we didn't see Buggy towards the back of the crew. We saw him like at least first to second line fighter. So we can determine that he was at least strong enough to be relatively close to the captain during a battle. Now I know he was just a cabin boy on the Roger Crew, but if that is to be taken at face value, buggy might just be a bit stronger then what we see at face value if you give him no option of escape

Also Tekking the whole doomsday weapon on Laugh tale, for the sake of argument and entertaining the idea, could be Pluton and Uranos, spelt it differently for the proper spelling having a certain terming, however the whole aspect of two of the 3 ancient weapons, let alone one ancient weapon, being there would be kind of cliché but would make sense so to speak since weapons, in the more traditional sense like with pluton being a frag off battleship, could be part of a treasure and buggy could’ve kept quiet on the information due to respect of roger AND due to fear considering how he talked his crew out of attacking ace while he was asleep due to fear of invoking Pops’ wrath

Ok this is just a theory but I think that Laugh tale may be the most twisted and island in the one piece world. The only thing I have to go on is how Buggy reacted back in Stampede. I know it was just a movie, but buggy seemed down right terrified. So that got me thinking maybe Laugh tale isn’t a pun but a sick joke. What if Laugh tale (as an island) has a final test or safety procaution. Maybe when you step on the island you experience your greatest fear (cranked up to 11) and the only way to move forward would be to laugh it off. I mean One piece is a series or adventure and moving forward despite the hardships of life and since Laugh tale is the final island, I can’t think of a better way to symbolize the end of the journey than that.

I think its fairly obvious roger wasnt the first outsider to reach the island if theres poneglyphs out there which detail its location. I mean for starters the people who made those things or atleast the one who commissioned them to be made must have been there to know its exact location

That's because history is written by winners. The natives lost that battle, and we are descendants from Europeans. And even then, Spanish trip captained by C. Columbus is credited with the discovery, but there were Nordic (viking) settlements and Portuguese Crosses all over the place by 1492

I remember when the UA-cam channel Ohara did an analysis on Buggy he pointed out that the fact that Buggy may have been to Laugh Tale, knows what the One Piece is, and still doesn't go after it despite his greed, shows that the One Piece treasure isn't money or gold or anything Buggy would see as worth anything.
It may be physical, it may be important to the World Government that it's suppresses, but it's not money.

3:30 Technically, you only need three of the road poneglyphs to find Laugh Tale, as the intersection of all four would lie somewhere between a pair of those poneglyphs. You would just have to trace the perimeter of the triangle. But like you said perhaps it's just impractical to do that.
