The Huracan is based of the R8 not the other way around. The power plant and chassis components are Audi.

3:20 This 5.2 l V10 is not a Lamborghini derived engine. It was built by Audi and it's derived from the 4.2l V8 engine put on RS4, RS5 , S4 and so on. After the 5.0 L V10 from the Gallardo was decommissioned they fitted this engine (5.2) on the later versions of the Gallardo and the newer model Hurracan. So actually it's the other way around, Lamborghini took the 5.2 from the Audi and fitted it on the Hurracan and late-Gallardos, not the other way around. Just wanted to clarify this, because sometimes feels a bit unfair for Lamborghini to take all the credit whenever there's something good coming out from Audi :)

Just want to add: despite my negative comments in my other post, I really like your review style and your videos in general are really good. Particularly like the DIY ones where you edit them just about right in my view.. enough to convey the work involved, including the bad stuff, but not so much that it's just tediously boring (nobody needs to see every single bolt being worked) as can be the case with other DIY's. Good job! :)

Also the cup holder cover does open all the way if u pull it through and can stay open like that.
Btw, rotate the track mode button and there are different modes in it(wet, dry, etc.)

I lean towards the R8 v10 plus over the GT3 for the same reasons you like it over the turbo s. Plus I won’t be tracking either car but a few times a year of that.

I think the motor is to the left because of balance it’s the same in my v8 😊 this color looks amazing and the support bars in Engine bay look great the v8 doesn’t have those

I had an F82 m4 competition for 2 years, sold it at the start of covid. I picked up a new range rover sport v8 hse dynamic now, and I now I feel like I need another true sports car.
I was so conflicted between a gt3, 570s, and r8 but I realized the r8 is really the only I could happily drive every day and also take out into the canyons. That v10 is just nuts.
I was also looking at a 992 C4s but I don't think it will have nearly as much emotion as the r8. Thanks for the video
I think a 991.2 GT3 will have the most emotions. R8 is a close second

Great video first time checking your channel. Can you post up exactly what exhaust this car has? I went to check out a silver 17 R8 few days ago its not a Plus model so not sure if its the right one i want but it is certified from Audi which is a plus.

Hi Tommy. Audi will not make this wonderful car next year and this year's productions is completely sold out. The used cars are still going up in price. V10 naturally aspirated with minimal electronic controllers is why you feel the speed and the road so precisely. it feels amazing!! I would say the R8 is at the peak of human ICE engineering! Nothing compares to it!

Yes, the Audi R8 is the new Holy Grail. VW/Audi bought Lamborghini. Mille Grazie...
The Audi R8 V-10 engine bay looks gorgeous under glass with a carbon fiber surround. At least the oil cap is centered, even if the whole engine is shifted to one side. No, the Audi R8 isn't a daily driver to leave at the train station all day. If it is a daily, drive to work less than 5k miles a year, and no bad weather. It is an affordable weekend supercar (used < $60-80k).

I really like the engine on the R8 and it rides quite comfortably. Curious whether you considered getting a 991.2 GT3 manual instead.
Gt3 manual is no longer on my radar. Fast cars need to be automatic
@@TommyLGarage Nothing wrong with optimizing for lap times. I choose control and joy of driving instead. It’s whatever one prefers. Can’t go wrong either way.

I have a 2016 gt4...6 speed. I'd like to make the switch to this but I'm concerned about missing the real car feeling from the gearbox and I'd hear the r8 steering is numb compared to the gt4. Is this true?
Nope. Not numb at all. Just doesn’t feel like a daily driver. But it is super thrilling!

Sorry but that interior is just horrible. Waaay too fussy! Quilting? in a car? Just looks cheap and nasty, same for the perforated leather (if it is even real leather which I highly doubt), makes the steering wheel especially look like a £50 cheap gaming wheel. I'm sure the part quality is good, it certainly looks it, but it just looks like someone drew a dash and then started sticking bits on it, there's no cohesion to the interior at all.
Also (and this isn't aimed at Tommy specifically), but when did describing car interiors become like describing wine or art? "deviated" stitching? Pulease!! it's just stitching in a contrasting colour for crying out loud. "Appointed" leather? really? what's wrong wtih just saying leather? Car manufacturers are really brainwashing everyone with their ridiculous "fancy" terms to describe nothing special at all, and unfortunately most car reviewers are falling for it big time.
I kind of like the quilting!
