I love 911’s, I’ve had several of them, but recently changed to R8 V10 Plus because the sound of the 992 was so weak and sound is a large part of the driving experience. The R8 gets way more attention if you like that sort of thing, and it’s faster than all but the 911 Turbo. The 911 is definitely more comfortable and offers much more space for the driver and for luggage. The R8 of far more planted than the 911, which is not always a good thing if you like to slide around sometimes.
I have a 2018 911 4S in Carmine Red. Purchased it in 2022 with only 7000 miles certified pre-owned. I appreciate the racing heritage of Porsche along with all of the high points you noted in this video and also in the "keep or sell" vid. As you said, the V10 sells the Audi. But, not sure of the long term reliability of the R8. But, I do love that exhaust note. Thank you for the great reviews :)
Thank you for your comment. Congratulations on your car. It's an awesome car. You will enjoy it. Mine still feels and rides new and is still exciting every day!
It depends on which suspension you choose. Mine does not have the 10 mm lowered suspension....I believe road noise is higher if you get the Sport PASM suspension. The regular PASM suspension is fantastic without lowering it.
I am dreaming of a Porsche but looking for a classic one 70s through 90s. I like the older r8 it drives so well more analog feel and raw the newer ones have a rev limiter 😢
Does the 911 have sports exhaust or just the black pipes option? Also im confused, those shoes with white socks, but you dont have an eastern european accent.
Yeah, no comparison, especially IRL. The Audi V10 is on another scale of sound. It's more like the owner is being a bit biased on this one. Still a decent review though.
The Audi is a supercar and reacts/performs like a supercar. Performance dry mode and Dynamic mode is 90:10 rwd. The R8's behavior/performance is more comparable with a Lamborghini or Ferrari..loud, responsive brakes, sharp steering. Your also comparing carbon ceramic brakes to steels they are fundamentally different, you need to live with the R8 for a few months to understand it. Porsche is great but they are very different vehicles.
Yes, the 9/11 is a beautiful car but not in the colors you chose especially with black rims. It looks like your car is permanently dirty or that is running on spare tires
That's just your opinion, my friend. As I have said before, color is an entirely personal choice. I really don't care what anyone else thinks. I love it and that's all that really matters! Someone else may like florescent yellow, but its not my place to pass judgement. On a side note, red is one of the most popular colors for a 911 and often sold for a premium. Cheers!
It's not all about the sound. Build quality, handling, and the heritage. None of these can match the 911. Not everyone wants to make a huge amount of noise wherever they go.
The Porsche 911 is an icon, the Audi R8 is a German Lamborghini wannabe. The R8's lines are very asymmetrical and I have never been turned on by a V10 engine which doesn't sound as good as either a V6, V8, or V12 V10 has a weird sound). My two cars which I purchased new are a 2011 Aston Martin DB9 (V12) and a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S (V6). Both cars' engines sound much better than the V10.
Much better than a carrera yes. But not even close to as good as the 2021 911 turbo s. It does look better, But the turbo s drives better is more comfortable and is much faster and sounds better with a kline or quick silver exhaust in my opinion. But again the R8 has that aggressive look that I prefer but its still not enough to make me choose it over a 2021 turbo s.
In this video, the R8 V10 Plus is the better performance car (which you should expect based on price), but to me as a daily driver the 911 hands down. I'm biased as I've owned 2 911s, but I purposely avoided R8 because of the lack of practicality (and no boost). Great video/review!

We fortunately live in a time when there are so many great cars to choose from. Congratulations on the R8! It is looker and a great sports car!
Great video man.
Thank you very much!

Excellent video. I love these type of comparisons from regular people who own one or more of these cars.
Thank you!
Interesting. Tyre roar in 911’s isn’t great so assumed it would be louder.

Good luck on your search. Can't go wrong with either.
Have a V10 6 Speed manual spider. Tuned. Amazing car to drive.
Wow. That's cool! Congratulations.
Great video. How’s your relationship with the neighbors with an R8 like that?
🙂The R8 belongs to my brother in law. Neighbors are cool...most of them have cool cars too.
@@carminered3229 good to hear
Which has more cabin noise?
Both are comparable, but R8 has more drone inside.
Thank you for the solid review uncle ji
Thank you.

Don't have the sports exhaust. Sports exhaust moves the tailpipes to the middle. Didn't realize white socks were eastern European 🙂.
@@carminered3229 in combination with those shoes they are :D

good video. keep it up!
Thank you!
Where was this video shot? Pretty good neighborhood to live in.
Thank you very much. Suburb in Missouri.

owned few Porsche's including 911 GTS and there's no comparison. Completely different class of cars.
Agree.

Did he said that the sound is almost the same? 😂

Audi is great but 911 is legeng a supercar u can use everyday for years !! No lambo or Audi is as reliable as Porsche .....
@@rohit-gk5lr That's true they are very reliable!
@COVFEFE Porsche the company defines and states the 911 as a sports car and not a Supercar. So you really have no idea what you're talking about.

If you can afford it. The R8 all day.
It's a great car!
the R8 sounds like a million bucks compared to the 911. A golf GTR sounds better than that >

True! Electric future.
R8 s just look so bland and anonymous. Audi's just never appeal to me.
Thank you for your comment. Its an impressive car nonetheless.

@@vmar71 Yhup its always down to preference at the end of day.
I would take a manual 991.2 gt3 over both cars, oh wait I actually did. On the other hand I would pick the r8 over the carrera s
