I bought this 2018 R8 RWS many many months ago but its been quite a busy summer and I haven't filmed as many videos with it as I wanted to! It's definitely been driven, nearly more in the first 3 months than the amount miles I bought it with. Some may remember my first R8, a 2011 R8 V10 Spyder with a gated manual transmission, which looking back is a car I never should have sold! But why did I end up choosing another R8, and this time a Gen 2? There are a big list of reasons, and I am very very happy with my choice! I look forward to filming many more videos and enjoying many more miles with my RWDAUDI!

The design on gen 1 AND 2 are both timeless and perfect imo. Also white looks classy as hell and the red stripe makes it stand out just enough imo. Love the paint matched blades.

I spent time on the street and the track with several cars and was about to buy a 17 NSX... then I street drove a Lamborghini Evo and I knew I needed a V10. The sound, feel, and redline had me in love. Glad I bought my 17 R8 Plus. R8 club ;)
PS Yes, I spent 150k. But 1 owner, 4700 miles, white with the Diamond Stitch Package. 204k msrp. Now it's worth 170k. 🤷♂️
How did it appreciate in value? Is it because of covid and used cars going up in value or are people already realizing how solid of a car the R8 will 4ever be

Hey Eddie. Sick car! Silly question, did the stripe come from factory or the previous owner did it? I remember seeing it in the car when u 1st showed us and it was at the dealer.

If I had a RWS i would 100% take it to Brandon at B Rogue for a dyno tune and valved exhaust. God I miss my R8, I want another one when the 2020-21 performance models take a hit. Will get one with mag ride and buckets this time no question
I sold my 21 evo spyder and ordered a 22 R8. I am going to twin turbo it. Evo was supercharged. These are way more comfortable and just as fast. Both reliable. Nothing wrong with the R8

@@EddieX Thank you Eddie. I look forward to sharing the good news with you at some point. Question for you, would you continue to choose the R8 over the new C8 ZO6? Does the C8 ZO6 have supercar performance and appeal? It certainly does. The C8, however, is not an exotic in my eyes. An exotic is predicated on the nomenclature of being "exotic" i.e. few in number. I chose the Alfa 4C over the C8 because I wanted a car of rarity. I would happily choose the R8 over the C8 for the same reason. In a moment's time, we'll see C8s on every corner. As my independent mechanic says, I'd rather have a slow (Ferrari/Lamborghini/McLaren/Audi R8) instead of a fast corvette!

Your videos are very informative and the filming is spot on. I have a Gen 1 R8 that revs to 8700 RPM. You said yours is only 8500 RPM. I can't find anything online that says Audi changed it in the Gen 2.

Was wondering why no RWS vids since you got it lol. Video came at the right time for me. Just officially started shopping. Was set on a Gen 1. Found a gated v10 spyder (14') but the price is damn near the same as ordering a brand new gen 2 22' RWD Coupe/Spyder. The gated would be nice, but having something newer, with newer tech is enticing (even though I'm sure the gated Gen 1 v10 cars will retain value like crazy.) Still torn.
Gen 1 refresh gated are insane prices! Super super rare. Depends if you want a collectible or something to drive and enjoy.
@@EddieX That's the thing. I plan to drive it, not park it like these other ones that have been going for crazy prices on BaT. Feels like if you pay these current premiums for the gated then they should be seldomly driven.

Lotta nvh, some have oil consumption issues and some like to catastrophically fail lol. Still a fantastic experience tho, I'm just keeping up with maintenance and extended warranty

Your car isn't the reason why Audi dropped the Quattro as the performance branding. They wouldn't do that for a small volume car. They did it for the upcoming electric cars, since none of them will have the Quattro system. AWD via multiple electric motors, yes. Quattro? No.
