One thing I love about Easy Allies reviews is how you can always tell what the score will be just before they show it, because the review perfectly justifies and explains why it is that score. So the review and score always match up perfectly, and it never is a surprise when the numbered score shows up. 7:48 "[...] taking a stealthy approach can sometimes make victory feel simple and unearned." That's how it should be. True warriors choose the hard path of mastering their swordsmanship and taking enemies head-on!
That better framerate option and the Kurosawa mode make me more tempted to get this. Any way to turn off the awful slow motion during the one-hit kills?
So I'm assuming they will make a sequel to this game with the second invasion taking place years later. That would be amazing and I would really enjoy seeing that on the PS5.
I feel like it was maybe not a great idea to have Brad, the guy who's played sekiro multiple times, review this one, especially when his biggest criticism at the end is that it's too easy lmfao I literally called that specifically when I saw his name at the top of the video, Brad is too pro.
I mean, he also mentions the AI being bad in stealth, that more than anything is a big drawback for a game that’s supposed to and set out to be „stealth or fight“ kinda game... That’s just a shame and has noting to do with Sekiro or Brad‘s From history. Also, the devs told people the hardest difficulty would de ruthless and it doesn’t seem to be that. Ultimately, your game won’t feel "ruthless and gritty“ or "stew and blood“, if it’s to easy, simple as that. I’d rather have an honest review, than ignoring things like this!
Don't they have a podcast where everyone on the team shares what they thought of the game though? I mean keep in mind it's not like IGN where they just have only one person review the game and then it represents the entire branch of that company.
Seven Samurai is an absolute classic albeit a bit long but its worth it. Some other great movies include Yojimbo and it's sequel Sanjuro , also throne of blood, rashomon, ran, kagemusha and hidden fortress (which was inspiration for star wars). There's more but that's a good start.
I'm like 10 hours in.. MY GAWD! This game is SO good. Way better than I expected. It’s like a mash of Horizon Dawn with Sekiro. The graphics are beautiful! Map is HUGE. So much to do, but no clutter. Everything in the map is decently spaced out with lots of hidden spots to find. The combat is really good, smooth and fluid. It’s like they took the frustrating, rage inducing sword fighting and parrying that was in Sekiro and made it fun! THIS is the samurai game that I wanted. They spared no expense with the (voice)cast, the story and the world is immersive as f*ck. Sucker Punch did an amazing job with this game. In this day and age of video games, they went above and beyond to give us something great. I have yet to see CyberPunk 2077, but so far, this has the potential of being GOTY. Great review as always, Easy Allies!
I hoping there are big villages to explore. Seem to only be places with only a couple of building. Would love to explore a castle come across fishermen, black smiths places to eat.
For those of you on the fence about Ghost of Tsushima, I dedicate an entire episode through a new podcast called The Sunset Single Player to my first impressions on the game. Please enjoy this focus on Sucker Punch's latest Samurai adventure. Thank you! @t
I haven't played this game yet and don't know what happens in it. But I was hoping for you to essentially live up to code and only use the showdowns in the first part of the game until you meet forces that you cannot beat fairly. And driven by something important you start to set your honour aside and resort to other methods, and you turn out to be pretty good at those, and become feared like a shadow of death. So I was hoping the style of combat was not so much a choice throughout the game but more of a necessity that unfolds, changing you into something you wouldn't have agreed with becoming at first, sacrificing a lot of what you were to get the deed done because it's of too much importance, becoming a new kind of warrior in the process, consequently ending what's left of honourable combat in the world. This story ending well, but with the question where things will go from there now that the playing field has changed. I don't know if the game is anything like that, but in the review it sounds more like an Assassins Creed style gameplay where you can always use any combat techniques you want to without much consequence or motivation.
Here’s some stuff I don’t really see reviewers talking about: when you die, unless you purchase a specific skill, you have to wait for an enemy to come finish you off. Sometimes, they kick you around first and then do it. While I appreciate that it makes the characters feel more alive, I don’t like waiting an additional 20-30 seconds per death plus a loading screen to try again. Similarly, after quests finish, you have to sit through a screen where Jin is sitting or standing or getting nudged by his horse while you wait to take control back. It just feels weird. Either way, the game is pretty fun, and I really enjoy it.
Press triangle when ur down it skips the animation . at least try to find a solution before complaining bud. but ya the post quest stuff is annoying . u just stand there

haha saw the walkthrough of it instead didn't want to play the horror show. Kids playing The Last of Us Part 2, and that Abby & Owen scene shows up. Father comes in Are you winning Son?
@@SleepyDroid game is no use of someone below 18 anyways, they probably wont understand shit. I loved tlou2 but still i want to recover from the pain.
Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly, Milo. Total downer, but fantastic setpieces. At least an 8/10 for me.
I loved TLOU2 but I get what you mean :). I've found the discussion around the game more depressing than the game itself though lol.
5:23 "...but the AI is pretty bad"
Then I'll feel right at home as I was expecting to play this like an Assassin's Creed game anyway lol
You definitely won't have a problem with that.
This looks like the AC feudal Japan I've always wanted.
Great honest review. I'm looking forward to playing this on Friday when it drops.
The landscape looks gorgeous! I hope everyone enjoys this game like I will this Friday!
The narrator sound way better to listen to, then everyone in IGN.
That fire sword at 7:43 is all I needed to see :)
Wait, does the prioritize fram-rate option gives us 60fps like Shadow of The Colossus and God of War??? If that's the case, I am so fucking happy!!!
I'm super impressed by Jone's accurate pronunciation of Tsushima
So excited to follow the wind and carve out my destiny!
7:48 "[...] taking a stealthy approach can sometimes make victory feel simple and unearned."
That's how it should be. True warriors choose the hard path of mastering their swordsmanship and taking enemies head-on!
The best review as always, can't wait for this one!
That better framerate option and the Kurosawa mode make me more tempted to get this. Any way to turn off the awful slow motion during the one-hit kills?
Well done Brad, really nicely written review.
Going Kurosawa on first playthrough. No regrets.
So I'm assuming they will make a sequel to this game with the second invasion taking place years later. That would be amazing and I would really enjoy seeing that on the PS5.
I gotta say, Im just here cause Brandon said he worked a lot on those "Tsushimas". And clearly, he's a Tsushima machine in this review ^^
Brandon has nothing to do with this review
@@rockyramsy Who do you think does the VO then?
Ryan Stevens
5:22 what about the hardest difficulty ???
Don't mind me! Just posting a comment so UA-cam will show your amazing review to more people.
I feel like it was maybe not a great idea to have Brad, the guy who's played sekiro multiple times, review this one, especially when his biggest criticism at the end is that it's too easy lmfao I literally called that specifically when I saw his name at the top of the video, Brad is too pro.
Yeah my FromSoft self realizes I'm playing this for the atmosphere not for the challenge.
Well it's good we can gauge the Allies opinions better knowing their tastes.
@@VectoredPromise the majority of people that will see this video do not know the allies' individual tastes lmao
I love how easy allies says hey its a good game whiout overhype
Best reviews on UA-cam. Looking forward to this one, even took the day off!
It's just a few more days but the wait is killing me. I need this game now. Been waiting for this for years. Great review as always, by the way.
So for trophy hunting and replayability ... should I buy this or TLOU2?
I imagine I would appreciate Kurosawa Mode more if I actually saw any of his movies. Anyone have any recommendations?
The UI reminds me a lot of God of War. Is it a direct inspiration or just a general trend?
Already pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition can't wait.
Same
I hoping there are big villages to explore. Seem to only be places with only a couple of building. Would love to explore a castle come across fishermen, black smiths places to eat.
There are
Platinum trophy sounds fair and straightforward to obtain too! another nice perk for the trophy hunters out there
But do the enemies disappear after you've liberated a region? Because that would suck
Can you unequip the bow or turn it off?
For those of you on the fence about Ghost of Tsushima, I dedicate an entire episode through a new podcast called The Sunset Single Player to my first impressions on the game. Please enjoy this focus on Sucker Punch's latest Samurai adventure. Thank you! @t
Listened to it podcast was pretty good
Fantastic review as always Allies. Always nice to hear that Jones voice rolling thru my speakers.❤️
It's a pretty cool game but my fun factor is continually decreased with camera problems. Really grinds my gears.
Great review as always brad! So excited to settle in!
Brad, congrats on a very well written review, really enjoyed it!
Press triangle when ur down it skips the animation . at least try to find a solution before complaining bud. but ya the post quest stuff is annoying . u just stand there
Please tell me you can ware a haramaki and bandana
Honestly the graphics alone is enough to justify buying this game. But the combat is just too good.
how are the Japanese and American voice acting? what would y’all recommend?
Japanese all the way
I don't like games where you're a superhero without the lore explaining it, him being a Japanese god protecting the land would be a nice explanation for example. :-)
Pre-ordered and counting until this Friday
The only review that matters. Solid! Really excited.
Sucker don't Miss, EVEN IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE they don't miss, even in the heat of controversy they don't miss!
Oh! Look widescreen
Because having big chucks of my screen just black really put me into the story😑
I wonder if the stealth being too easy and victory feeling unearned is by design. Makes the player feel dishonerable, like Jin feels in those moments.
SHAMEFUR DISPRAY!

So does it play like Tenchu?
What does Bloodworth think of this?
Haven't started yet. -Bloodworth
As always, best reviews in the business 👏
A breathtaking game, just so beautiful!
Is there any chance we can have a pc version?
This looks like one of the better games of the year but not the best. A big step up from infamous though and i'm looking forward to playing it myself :)
So far this year, which game is actually better? I couldn’t think of anything when I read your comment lol
@@jublacabra Yeah,Its like he has seen some good games that we haven't seen yet. For me Ghost of Tsushima looks really good and i will definitely buy it
@@jublacabra really? I mean you haven't played ghost of tshusima yet. You might end up hating it. My favorite so far is ff7 remake but I also loved TLOU2. That's of course just my opinion though :).
@@dreamerabe I don't usually put in that kind of effort lol. I loved the game but im sick of talking about it. The conversation around it is so toxic. The sooner people move on the better :).
AA - 12ZZ - Stephen Lewis SS (2682) still, if user reviews don’t count, neither do critics because that could just be paid off or being over-indulgent in naughty dog
Great review, Brad.
I hope they fix the lip syncing issue... Japanese dub was a huge draw for me, but not without lip sync.
It's not an "issue".. so it wont be fixed.
Sucker Punch began the Generation with Infamous and they end it with Ghost Of Tsushima. It was one helluva console generation.
Do they mention how long the game takes to beat? I didn't catch it.
holly jin's voice actor is zoro from one piece!!
It's gonna be so trippy when the Japanese audio is the one that isn't lip synced since it's almost always the other way around.
Main character's voice in Japanese is Zoro from One Piece. Sold.
"When Japan was invaded by, wait for it..... the Mongols" 😂 sorry, Crash Course fanatic here
But did they get swept up in a tornado?
Well IRL they land safely on Tsushima but got wipe out by Typhoon (or Tornado whatever you call it) when they went after Japanese main island
@@johnmaulana7027 Yes, it was divided into 2 seperate attempts. Fiest was successful, second less so. Kamikaze happened.
I don't understand. Is this good or fine?
How many discs is the game on?
Gonna be blunt, when god of war came out i was exited and played through the game until the cinematic kicked in for the blades of chaos, goosebumps kicked in, rest is video game of the year history, ghost of tsushima did the exact same to me in the first 15 minutes of the game, this is game of the year 2020 hands down.
Not having correct lip sync with the Japanese dialogue track is the type of small but crucial immersion breaking detail that more adept developers would have addressed from the outset. So much time and effort went into creating an immersive Japanese environment, it’s a shame SP let this detail slide.
It's a western game set in Japan, not a Japanese game made by Japanese. Thank fuck. That means of course there is very little in it that's annoying or backward. Almost nothing in fact.
Great review as always, I hope they fix the op weapons and the IA of the enemies altough it would help knowing in what difficulty you played
Very astute observation. The AI does INDEED make a difference with some games, based-on what difficulty you are playing on.
Hard so far is quite testing just in the tutorial part alone. You gotta be on your A game or you'll die.
