AEW is the reason I got back into wrestling after I stopped watching in like 2002-2003. Heard good things about them and started watching right around when Dynamite started airing and then from there I just was starved for more wrestling content which led me to OSW Review because I heard Matt McMuscles reference y'all for years. So cheers to both AEW and OSW Review!
They could probably cover it in like two vids, maybe three with all the bonus matches. I loved wsx, but matches were so fast forwarded that it might be a little hard to break down.

Great review lads! I was surprised that you were so up on the show, before I realized that two out of three had never seen an AEW PPV before so didn't have the inflated expectations that we fans did going into it.

Just started but popped for the Brooklyn 99 intro! Edit: Just finished watching the episode and thoroughly enjoyed it. I follow V1 on Twitter so I knew what his thoughts were on the show but I didn't expect for OOC to be quite positive on the show overall but a nice surprise nonetheless. I would be down for you guys to review another AEW PPV down the road. Double or Nothing 2019, All Out 2019 and Revolution 2020 would probably be the stand-outs. And let's hope the fans make the right choice for the 100th episode.

Really loved that speech at the end. It's so frustrating to see so many people want AEW to fail, not realising that more wrestling companies makes things better and should (hopefully) give WWE that kick that they need. 37:03 Also popped massively at seeing my local wrestling company get a small cameo in an OSW video. I was at that show and he was great.
The vitriol from the live chat during the premiere about hating AEW and echoing the remarks of Cuntnette was also very depressing. Its one thing for a product to not be for everyone, but it's entirely something else to act like it is the most reviled thing to happen to a medium. Those detractors seem to forget the host of problems in the Fed. For instance, culling talent and staff for "cost saving measures" despite making large amounts of revenue (see Miro and the other victims of the 2020 and 2021 cullings). Not to mention the talent they let go, either because they don't like how they went over (see the IIonics) or because the talent were dissatisfied with where they were in the company (see FTR, Kenta, Moxley, Conti, and Cody). There will always be someone in WWE that never reach their potential, are left unsatisfied, or catch that big break on the big stage. But at least AEW can give them that chance.
@@LaNoLaCola Fair points I have my problems with both places WWE is stale as hell. RAW is a bore and a chore to get through and who cuts Samoa Joe? AEW has some good stuff going on but they also have some super green wrestlers they should keep them on dark until they are more seasoned. Darby looked really good in that cinematic match and what I like most about him is he freaking sells. His dive don't look like a stunt show with people waiting to catch them. I know people like to mock psychology and selling aren't important and yes the wrestling business evolves but to me when Rey Fenix pops up like nothing after some vicious looking moves and no sells it. It comes off hokey to me. Like bad fight choreography. See Iron Fist. They have some amazing agility and I like the Cruiserweight style but Rey Mysterio is ten times the wrestler Fenix is. Because Rey actually sells moves. You can have your flips and dives but just a pet peeve No selling is so lame. It's like a boxing match if someone hit a knockout punch and then other boxer jumped up was like no I am all good. Omega is good but no where close to best in the world. The Bucks are and always will be dime store Hardy Boy wannabes but once again The Hardys can actually work. I think the Bucks are smart and are good with their marketing of the t-shirts and being the elite but they have X-Pac heat with me along with Marko Stunt. But I am a fan of several of the talents there just some of the booking is a little off at times. MJF, Jungle boy, Brian pillman Jr(good god just show clips from the documentary how is he not the most sympathetic babyface in the company)Darby, Page is really good too. It's good to have Hardy, Christian, Jericho etc to work with the younger guys. Same with having Deeb worked with the less seasoned women, You can only get better by learning from those who know what they are doing. Anyway, I disgress, I am fan of both but I am willing will critique both too. If you just say everything is genius and has no flaws in either then I don't know what to tell you.
AEW did this to themselves. I wanted them to succeed, but they lied to me and they lied to you. They didn't give the talent healthcare like they promised. They said they weren't going to sign a bunch of ex-WWE guys and they did. They said they would have a more "serious" product, because people didn't like WWE's silliness and give us "sports based wrestling" and they didn't. I'm NOT going to blindly support a company that just doesn't care like AEW.
In hindsight, it would’ve been stupidly cool if Kenny and his entourage had a preroll video lined up after the fart explosion of them pointing and laughing at Moxley and Kingston, like the Simpsons did to Bart. And then have the show fade out, still hearing Kenny laughing maniacally with his face on the tripleHtron.
I don't understand why The Butcher and The Blade aren't getting more attention, honest to god they're my favorite new tag team in wrestling since The Shield.. Andy Williams (The Butcher) is the guitarist from Every Time I Die, he's basically learning the ropes on the job while also being televised.. but honestly you'd never know it. Obviously he's not a high flyer or an experienced ring technician, but he fills his particular role like a boss. He's totally credible/believable as a bad ass brawler who just goes in there and mauls guys to death. The Blade (Braxton Sutter) has been a mainstay on the indies for 20+ years, so he is able to effectively cover for The Butcher's in-ring inexperience. I'm dead serious, I don't know how these guys haven't blown up yet.
I don't watch much AEW but I totally agree. They have such a cool look and they feel different than all the other teams on the roster. They should be a big deal.
@@redwolfe7049 I know! They have such a menacing appearance, they actually look like dangerous people who enjoy violence. We've seen tons of "unhinged" wrestler gimmicks through the years, but these guys have found a new and completely different way to make it unique to them. In acting, they say you should play the man, not the uniform. IMO they perfectly represent that general idea. These guys should 100% be AEW tag team champions or at the very least a consistent part of the title picture.

You got me back into wrestling after not watching for 14 years. Then I stumbled across BTE and that really got me back into wrestling. Aew is my favorite f****** thing ever. YES! Finally an AEW review. I’ve been looking forward to this.
Both AEW and OSW are masters of long-term booking, it's been 65 episodes since the lads did their original rendition of B K BOMBER!!!
So glad you guys did an AEW review. Even if it was my least favourite ppv they've done, this review was wonderful.
Really loved that speech at the end. It's so frustrating to see so many people want AEW to fail, not realising that more wrestling companies makes things better and should (hopefully) give WWE that kick that they need.
37:03 Also popped massively at seeing my local wrestling company get a small cameo in an OSW video. I was at that show and he was great.
The vitriol from the live chat during the premiere about hating AEW and echoing the remarks of Cuntnette was also very depressing. Its one thing for a product to not be for everyone, but it's entirely something else to act like it is the most reviled thing to happen to a medium.
Those detractors seem to forget the host of problems in the Fed. For instance, culling talent and staff for "cost saving measures" despite making large amounts of revenue (see Miro and the other victims of the 2020 and 2021 cullings). Not to mention the talent they let go, either because they don't like how they went over (see the IIonics) or because the talent were dissatisfied with where they were in the company (see FTR, Kenta, Moxley, Conti, and Cody). There will always be someone in WWE that never reach their potential, are left unsatisfied, or catch that big break on the big stage. But at least AEW can give them that chance.
@@LaNoLaCola Fair points I have my problems with both places WWE is stale as hell. RAW is a bore and a chore to get through and who cuts Samoa Joe? AEW has some good stuff going on but they also have some super green wrestlers they should keep them on dark until they are more seasoned. Darby looked really good in that cinematic match and what I like most about him is he freaking sells. His dive don't look like a stunt show with people waiting to catch them. I know people like to mock psychology and selling aren't important and yes the wrestling business evolves but to me when Rey Fenix pops up like nothing after some vicious looking moves and no sells it. It comes off hokey to me. Like bad fight choreography. See Iron Fist. They have some amazing agility and I like the Cruiserweight style but Rey Mysterio is ten times the wrestler Fenix is. Because Rey actually sells moves. You can have your flips and dives but just a pet peeve No selling is so lame. It's like a boxing match if someone hit a knockout punch and then other boxer jumped up was like no I am all good. Omega is good but no where close to best in the world. The Bucks are and always will be dime store Hardy Boy wannabes but once again The Hardys can actually work. I think the Bucks are smart and are good with their marketing of the t-shirts and being the elite but they have X-Pac heat with me along with Marko Stunt. But I am a fan of several of the talents there just some of the booking is a little off at times. MJF, Jungle boy, Brian pillman Jr(good god just show clips from the documentary how is he not the most sympathetic babyface in the company)Darby, Page is really good too. It's good to have Hardy, Christian, Jericho etc to work with the younger guys. Same with having Deeb worked with the less seasoned women, You can only get better by learning from those who know what they are doing. Anyway, I disgress, I am fan of both but I am willing will critique both too. If you just say everything is genius and has no flaws in either then I don't know what to tell you.
AEW did this to themselves. I wanted them to succeed, but they lied to me and they lied to you. They didn't give the talent healthcare like they promised. They said they weren't going to sign a bunch of ex-WWE guys and they did. They said they would have a more "serious" product, because people didn't like WWE's silliness and give us "sports based wrestling" and they didn't. I'm NOT going to blindly support a company that just doesn't care like AEW.

I don't understand why The Butcher and The Blade aren't getting more attention, honest to god they're my favorite new tag team in wrestling since The Shield.. Andy Williams (The Butcher) is the guitarist from Every Time I Die, he's basically learning the ropes on the job while also being televised.. but honestly you'd never know it. Obviously he's not a high flyer or an experienced ring technician, but he fills his particular role like a boss. He's totally credible/believable as a bad ass brawler who just goes in there and mauls guys to death. The Blade (Braxton Sutter) has been a mainstay on the indies for 20+ years, so he is able to effectively cover for The Butcher's in-ring inexperience. I'm dead serious, I don't know how these guys haven't blown up yet.
I don't watch much AEW but I totally agree. They have such a cool look and they feel different than all the other teams on the roster. They should be a big deal.
@@redwolfe7049 I know! They have such a menacing appearance, they actually look like dangerous people who enjoy violence. We've seen tons of "unhinged" wrestler gimmicks through the years, but these guys have found a new and completely different way to make it unique to them. In acting, they say you should play the man, not the uniform. IMO they perfectly represent that general idea. These guys should 100% be AEW tag team champions or at the very least a consistent part of the title picture.
