Fuck yes! You guys have given me so many laughs, any time an episode is posted, I drop whatever I'm doing and watch it ASAP (I'll always give the youtube vid a like though, this one took some time but always worth it)
I love that the bucket of water to Bruce's face was Owen's prank. Even in what is supposed to be a serious feud, Owen still gets a rib on his own brother. Seems like he got the lion's share of any sense of humor the Hart family could possibly have. 😂
When I was a kid, I discovered my downstairs cable box picked up the scrambled PPVs just well enough that the audio was crystal clear the whole time. So on Sunday's during a show I'd go downstairs and listen to the PPV like a radio broadcast. So WWE Radio would have been right up my alley.
I’m currently listening to an episode of Grilling JR about the career of Lex Luger in the WWF. Around 50 minutes in I learned that Borga (former Finnish member of parliament) Was let go from WWF for apparently having Schutzstaffel related tattoos. This is especially ironic given the fact that when he was recruited. One of things that stood out; other than his physique. Was that creative apparently thought that he “looked like a Nazi” and that his look would contrast well with Luger’s “All American Gimmick” Recruited for looking like a Nazi - Fired for being an actual Nazi. Only in Pro wrestling 😂
Mason Corry oh no we need lex Batista at wm give me what I want wanted lex dolth should have been me talking about lex Randy Orton 3 most devastating words in wwe RKO I think not means lex ducking luger new aew signing Orange pockets cas protecting a little lex luger action figure.
After reading Bret's book (apparently) Lawler completely potatoed Bret with the crutch when Bret has Doink in the Sharpshooter. The crutch wasn't gimmicked so it was just a full on whack with a metal crutch. When Bret has Lawler in the Sharpshooter at the end, he held it much longer and more viciously than he was supposed to, but this was Lawler receiving his "receipt".
I don't think you guys mentioned it, but in his book, Bret says that a lot of the "officials" that were trying to pry him off of Jerry Lawler were actually subtly pushing him down and back, making the sharpshooter hold hurt more! Jerry wasn't too popular with the guys in those days, so this was a little rib/punishment for him. That might explain why it went on for so long...they were having too much fun torturing Jerry Lawler! Bret also alleges that Lawler couldn't walk for a good long time after being in that hold for so long!
Like, I know there's no accounting for taste but, seriously, if barely anyone at the company liked the guy, I'm _utterly_ baffled as to how he got so much work with them. He couldn't wrestle to save his life and while, in isolation, some of his lines could be funny, about 90% of the time it always felt to me like he'd just memorised a the contents joke book and would pull out some vaguely on the theme of what was going on whether or not it remotely fit the specifics so, for every time he got a laugh out of me, there'd be at least ten times I'd go, "...yeah, I mean I can't say it wasn't _technically_ a joke." By the by, I've been watching OSW in a bizarre order so I've never seen a Maffew episode with Lawler present but I'm given to understand he's made pretty much the _exact_ same point about the joke book I've been making since I first had to listen to the guy (Lawler, not Maffew), which I'm looking forward to actually hearing some day.
"ginger nipple hair"... this is quality and I laughed hard. You guys are geniuses for taking what was the best thing to many of us in our youth and now showing how crazy, fun and ridiculous it was.. nostalgia at it's best!
my first live wrestling show was 8/16/93 at the civic center. So great to see you guys spend that much time on the summerslam spectacular! great job guys!

It's a fantastic edit from (I assume) V1but it's also shoot one of my favourite heel promos ever even on its own. Cornette in this era was just an untouchable promo machine.
The Hart family were such mainstays of the 90’s. I love how they are always ringside. We hardly get family involved with stories anymore, and it’s never long term like it was back then.

Watched it the next day in the UK & couldn't believe how small Lex looked having been on that bus for so long & with the short hair-it worked in his favour as he had a lot more stamina & really carried the match well. Finish came across totally stupid-celebrating a c/o win which meant he wouldn't get another shot at the title.
For some reason I can never go fullscreen with Vimeo, so I'm glad y'all can get your episodes up on UA-cam as well. Also, Brucie Bonus on my birthday is the best present I could possibly get. Cheers, boys!

2:01:20 - Cornette has explained this segment. Some promoters recorded TV months in advance and would send out Number One Contenders with the belt they were chasing either as part of the post-PPV storyline, or to make people who saw pictures of the event think "Lex has the belt? Mark James Hammond it is known - Missande voice.
Bobby Powles Makes sense
Yes, it is known. As kids playing Royal Rumble on Sega we always wanted to play IRS because "The Write-Off" was the coolest finisher.
You guys make me smile all the time. Whenever I feel down, I just pop on one of these and get an instant good mood. Thanks, brahs!
Great new Intro love that Street Fighter look!
My boys! Happiest part of any week when you guys upload!
What an amazing idea it was to put the mysterious Undertaker character on the phones.
"Uhm... individual, uh, wrestling."
@bigevilworldwide1 - You put guys at their level. Upper midcarder with occasional main event matches. Take away the gimmick, Paul Bearer, etc and you have a red headed Kurgan.
I'M SO HAPPY THIS WAS FINALLY UPLOADED
That ending to the Steiners-Money Inc Cage Tag match was actually really smart
Totally original
AnvilPro100 You only think that because..you don’t know the secrets.
You don't think the Million Dollar Man was actually punching Rick's kidneys...do you?
The reason why there was no Monday Night RAW after SummerSlam '93 is because SummerSlam was actually held on a Monday that year. It didn't start exclusively as a Sunday night ppv until 1995-onward.
I laughed my ass off at the “How Bizarre” bit, and the Mr. Perfect crying to the back bit.
My entire month has been made. Hell, the rest of my year is made.
We need the full, in sync EMF/Vince 'Unbelievable' edit
Oh yes, it’s back. I was at this! I was 8 years old and a huge Bret Hart mark and my dad was a Lawler fan. And that place nearly exploded for our hometown heroes, the Steiner Bros!
Amazing you will keep in this era. But after that, you should do a story arc of...... 97
All the WWF PPVs between Summerslam 97 and Survivor Series 97
Including The Patriot, the first Hell in a Cell between HBK and Taker, midgets and DOA vs Los Boricuas THE GREATEST GANG FEUD EVER alongside other amazing stuff
Yes! Make this happen!
39:18 i never noticed that Shawns sunglasses were completely blacked out, lol. there is no way he could see thru those things! thats why he wore them so far down his nose :))
Radio WWF was on Royal Rumble 94 cause Monsoon and JR called Razor vs IRS IC Title match. But you couldnt get the station anywhere but on a US Army base so its was probably their swan song
