hauntingly beautiful, these are the words I use to describe such a song. There is something in Justin´s voice that is sad, poignant and yes, haunting. In the centuries to come, whatever may befall Mankind, this song will resonate with those of us of a certain calibre. Forever Autumn, gorgeous voice, gorgeous music. It could tease a tear from a steel heart. 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you, Justin. Loved Justin and the Moody Blues since the first time I heard them on Christmas Day in 1972. My brother got me A Question of Balance and instead of wrapping it just said: You'll hear in a moment. Obviously, he had put it on the family stereo when I was distracted by other gifts. So, again thank you Justin and thank you my brother James.
While the song Forever Autumn stands out all on its own as stunning, it’s your hauntingly beautiful voice that puts it in a league of its own. So many of us can relate in some way to the lyrics. I remember when this song came out in America. I was going through a very painful time and plenty of tears flowed when I heard this song. But time goes on and our hearts heal as best as they can. This is easily one of the best songs you’ve ever done. Thank you Justin from the bottom of my heart for the 50 plus years of amazing music and I will be “Forever Grateful” that you said yes to Jeff Wayne when he asked you to do this song. I wish you all the best. 💙💙
Bittersweet but lovely. 1994, we were all "here". Now with the loss of Ray and Graeme, and for some of us the loss of family and friends. if I can be allowed to paraphrase...."Music to the story of our lives" :-(.
First heard this in 1978 when I was 7 and have loved this song since then. My Dad was taught by Justin’s Dad at school but I was disappointed that he didn’t go to school with Justin 😂
Just beautiful.. I was privileged to see you at Leeds arena in the show last year..amazing and so special to see you back in the roll .no one sings this song like you do .keep well and safe.. your music and words to your own songs are just stunning poetry to music.xx
Whether sung with the Moodies or sung with his solo band, or with this beautiful orchestra, the song is absolutely beautiful....sad but beautiful. What makes this song loved by many, particularly is Justin himself. I would not get same reaction of my heartstrings being so pulled upon by no one else but Justin's haunting but beautiful voice. This song and NIWS are two songs I would not want to listen to if my heart was to be broken or death of my love. I would avoid those two songs at all cost. I would cry my eyes out, if I heard it.
An orchestrated Forever Autumn, with Mike Batt, how lovely, and your voice does carry so well with this production, Justin, esp the end of song with 'coz you're not here' sung with such emotional conviction, love it 💕 🎶🎵🎶
Followed your career and music. Incredible impact on my soul. Spent part of my life as a vocalist and guitar player. This moves the mind and soul. i understand the feeling of loss….Autumn feels that way. Parents pass away and life goes on. Thank you Justin Hayward.
I turned my girlfriend on to The Moody Blues when we started dating in the early to mid 70's. She fell in love with Justin Hayward and when married she insisted our son was to be named Justin. We attended several concerts as a family. Sadly our son passed away from cancer 7 years ago at 32 years of age. We haven't been the same since, but still follow them when they are in concert. Sorry to hear the passing of Greame Edge
Been following them since..dam so long now had to think about it, mid 60s gotta say. That would make 10 at the time. Being the youngest out of 6 I was blessed to have cool older brothers and sisters. Lost my love recently who shared their excellent music with me. So the lyrics..your not here.. really pulls heart strings.😢 But in fact she is, as I feel her and she let's me know she is, we, us, you never are gone as we're just energy transformed. ☝🙏❤🎶🎵🎼
This song is beautiful and your voice is timeless. My sister and I saw 2 of your concerts with the Moody Blues in Sioux City IA USA. You all, with the orchestra, were utterly impressive. Thank you for the beauty of your voice and the words you composed to take us all to another place, even if it is for just a moment. Take care & thank you.
Justin's your musicality and that coupled with being a most evocative wordsmith that you could be the person/s in the song it is a most beautiful gift Graham
JUSTIN,. By the GRACE of OUR MERCIFUL HEAVENLY FATHER OUR lives WILL NOT be FOREVER AUTUMN!!! He's SEEING TO THAT!!!! SOME of us NEEDS HEALING and FIXING UP FIRST!!! Working on TRUSTING GOD!!! 👑👑👑 🙏🙏🙏 LOVE IS STILL SOOOOO VERY MUCH ALIVE!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋💋🌼🌼🌼🌼👸
Fantastic! As a 14 year old in 1978, I thought this was a depressing song though I recall at the time that it stood out from all other songs in the charts. Now I truly appreciate it, and Hayward's distinctive vocal style
Truly stunning. I loved this song from the very first time I heard it”war of the worlds” by Jeff Wayne. The song just touches you Thanku Justin Hayward.
Che bel brano , neanche conoscevo , ma la Tua bella voce , mi fa emozionare . Grazie Yuo-Tube che possiamo rivederti da giovane . Forse una canzone della colonna sonora di un film..
Words really can express just HOW MUCH I DESPERATELY wish I could be THERE Tonight And just HOW S-O-R-R-Y I AM for BLOWING MY OPPORTUNITY TO BE!!!!!😟😔😢😭😭😭💔💔💔
Justin, I did a cover to honor you and this marvelous, unforgettable song in the game Lord of the Rings Online. The song is still one of the best Player created, and in game character played ones that LOTRO has as an ABC File Format. It really shine, when a player band in game, gets together with various instruments and play it for others in game to enjoy. 👍👍& 💯⭐
Well, Now I've got to go and again Watch Jeff Wayne's "The War of the World". Then after maybe a night of Moody Blues songs. And it's all Your fault, Mr. Justin Hayward. 😊 ❤️.
Great vocal performance. The arrangement for the orchestral backing was too pared down, though. They should have kept to the original score with the balalikas etc.

:-) that we had (and have) such stories in our lives...
Any version sung by Justin is the best. Thank you very much Justin and Mike for this performance.
I have never cried over the loss of my sons but this song helps me mourn
First heard this in 1978 when I was 7 and have loved this song since then. My Dad was taught by Justin’s Dad at school but I was disappointed that he didn’t go to school with Justin 😂
This video of "Forever Autumn" is yet another illustration of your beautiful voice, Justin, every time you sing! Thank you for sharing! 💕
One of the more beautiful and epic songs I have ever heard... thank you from the depth of my heart Justin.

So sad to read this. I'm sorry for your loss!
SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS! I RECENTLY DISCOVERED JUSTIN! AND DISCOVERED THE MOODY BLUES AS DID NOT GET INTO THE FIRST TIME AROUND.
Been following them since..dam so long now had to think about it, mid 60s gotta say. That would make 10 at the time. Being the youngest out of 6 I was blessed to have cool older brothers and sisters. A great song ruined by Mike Batts arangement
Adore this tune ❤❤🍁🍁 and with the orchestra, WOW
