Great empire or impossible. Cambodia has almost the lowest education in the world. There is no way that they were the first people in this region in the past. If so, they must have enough knowledge to maintain it. Look at you, look at your country now. You can fool others but you can't fool yourself. And Cambodians don't have the same DNA as people in ASEAN. I have done enough research.
One of the more thoroughly researched and non bias videos on UA-cam. Besides some mispronunciations here and there, almost all of the information is correct. I will try to list some mistakes and suggestions on top of my head. 1. Lavo has been a city of Mon people (and later Khmer) long before Sukhothai or Ayutthaya, not just from the 14th cent. onward. After the rise of Ayutthaya, Lavo lost some significance but later was restored in the reign of King Narai in the 17th cent. as the ”2nd” capital. But after that, it was relegated again to just another city. 2. Ayuthaya has incorporated both Buddhism and Hinduism since the early period and has developed its culture based on these 2 religions on top of the old Animistic ritual core. not just Buddhism or Hinduism as stated in the video. All of these beliefs can still be seen in modern-day Thailand. 3. It is still debatable that Sukhothai is the first kingdom of the Tai people in the area of what is known as Thailand nowadays because there were the kingdom of Ngoenyang and Singhanavati situated in the far north of Thailand since the 7th century. I do agree that Sukhothai's achievement of rebelling from the Khmer empire was quite remarkable and has settled the debate about its independence but I still think those northern kingdoms were also quite autonomous and can be considered real “kingdoms”. 4. The king was obviously named “Taksin” not Taskin😅 5. The word Tai or Thai actually means the same thing in Thai language (ไท -> ไทย). I believe the ย was added to this word first time in the Ayuthaya according to the known documents. (Still, both spellings were used interchangeably). By adding ย it gave a little quirk of Sanskrit name and had a more refined look compared to just plain ไท. Actually, when Field Marshall Phibun suggested the word ไท or ไทย to be the new official name replacing Siam. The voting was held and ไท lost to ไทย by a small margin and then Thailand became Thailand officially.
