The best part of that was seeing the interaction between father and son . So beautiful.
I agree. really enjoyed watching the process but the end was just icing on the cake
i just found *TopFineWoodworking .Com* and the plans on there are so amazingly laid out and well thought i don’t know what I would do without them now....

Couldn't agree more.
It''s sadly lacking in modern society, and it's always sometime else's responsibility or fault.
I just can't get my head around why anyone would dislike this. This is the kindest and the best gesture I have seen on the whole of youtube.
Keep it up
I agree, Mr. Fraser.
2 Dislikes?!
How?! I cannot comprehend how this video isn't inspirational.
Sometimes dislikes are just the result of a "fat finger" error. I'm pretty sure this is the case here as well.
i dont understand it either but thats youtube...show a video of a medal of honor recipient saving a toddler from a fire and it'll get some dislikes....you just ignore that part and enjoy seeing wonderful videos like this one.
I think as a society we need to focus on the likes not the dislikes! Keep doing what your doing! Your work is beautiful and it shows your heart!
On phones when you scroll down to see the comments it's easy to press it by mistake. I've done it before and you can't take it back
4 years later and a woodworking video has me in tears. God bless you and your son.
Well that's the first time a woodworking video has made me cry. Beautiful. Now I can't get home and hug my son soon enough. Best to your and your family.
I cried. I never cry, but I cried. Beautiful bed and craftmanship, and a beautiful son too. Thanks Samurai!
Me too
Man this is REAL art work. Must have taken forever. That's real talent you got there!
Your son is lucky to have a dad like you brother
Joseph Decorrevont No, he is lucky to have a son like him!
You are a great family man. Thanks, The world needs more Dads like you.

Sir, that was one of the most amazing videos that I have ever watched. Your design and carpentry skills are incredible. But, even more so, is the relationship between you and your son. Thank you for being so gifted with your hands,...and even more gifted with your heart! dgr
How could someone give this video a thumbs down? A man who obviously loves his son, who said he almost lost him built a labor of love!
my eyes welled up when I saw your son jump on it for the first time, an act of love for a lifetime of gratitude. your a wonderful dad, God bless you
This story had all that is good.....your heart, who survived!!!!,, good design, Makita tools, dirty shop, chisels to make up for the plunge router, gorgeous wood, Japanese saws, Canadian flags and routing while sanding, animation, no shoes in the house, having a child named Ash........brilliant
Bed built with the strength of a giant, for a boy with a giant will to live! Hats off to both of you from a Danish carpenter!
I think it’s awesome that you can share your life the way you do. Thanks for allowing us in!
One year ago I was watching this video. I come back now and a lot it is changed into your channel and I just stop again to thank you.
The values of a Samurai include: Integrity, Courage, Benevolence, Politeness, Sincerity, Honor, Loyalty and Self-control. You my friend are the embodiment of these values, and I watch your videos with growing interest and respect. Please keep showing the rest the way of Bushido.
What a lucky boy to have such a loving father! Shame on anyone who misunderstands your confidence. You know you are good at what you do. You OWN that confidence and who cares what anyone says. It's their loss for not knowing you. They are jealous anyway.

I'm building a bed for my daughter and wish I had the tools and SKILLS you do. Wow that was an awesome video! Nothing has given me more pride and feel more manly than building something for my child. Fatherhood is what is missing in our society. You nailed it.
Actually, I didn't use any nails. I wedged it!
You're a bad ass.. And I love your humor. Keep up the videos brochacho'
+The Samurai Carpenter I 👀 what you did there.
This is a beautiful gesture of love that you and he will cherish forever. God Bless you and your family and may you continue to create and inspire all those that watch . Thank you for sharing such a loving gift.
The best thing a father could give to his son. In years to come this boy will cherish the memory of his father's gift to him. Absolutely priceless & a joy for your boy to enjoy his every sleeping moments.. Keep at it my old fruit. Kind regards.
Your amazing , not only are you a world class craftsman, your an amazing editor and documentary video producer! But most of all your an Amazing Dad!
God Bless to you and your family!
Jeff
Beautiful bed and video! I love your use of traditional tools and joinery when they are the better option, and the use of power tools to do some of the heavy work. Thanks for the inspiration!
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Ooooohhhh It must of been while he was kissing youuuuu.
ObieForceGaming n
I'm not knocking traditional joinery but that split at the foot of the bed 5:37 is why mechanical fasteners were invented. Sweet bed though your son has a pretty cool dad

Who is cutting those onions again?
Your sons are blessings man! Greetings from Brazil!
You are a GREAT DAD, lovely bed. Wishing you the BEST, Thanks for sharing.

Wow. What a beautiful bed by a beautiful dad for a beautiful boy.
What a beautiful bed for your beautiful son. Congratulations God Bless
Nice multitasking at 3:20 :)
Incredible build! Now I have to say as always...your craftsmanship and ingenuity are off the chart but my favorite part of this came at about 5:03 when you were playing with your son. Awesome, awesome, awesome video.
HE'S A LUCKY BOY, AND YOU A BLESSED DAD. SONS ARE AMAZING TO HAVE AND YOUR LOVE FOR HIM IS OBVIOUS. GREAT JOB!
What a beautiful bed for a beautiful son... God bless you and him...
fabulous job the smile on his face makes it all worth while
You are just amasing! AWSOME BED! Just so nice to see Asher enjoy it!
Beautiful design, build and video!
Love how the boards just "moved into place" by themselves!😂!! His great grandchildren will still be using this bed!!
What a dad you are. God bless you.
Absolutely beautiful man! Nothing like father and son bond and making memories! Suck beautiful work you do. This would make any man emotional!
great job.I liked the trick with the router to level the headboard.
I would have messed about with an electric plane and belt sander so I won't forget this one :)
There is a more in depth video on the router plane setup on my video page. Pretty easy to set up.
yep, setup is so simple but I never thought of the router approach.
I've used the same approach with planes for scarfing ply

Great Dad !!
Extensible knowledge about best carpenters!
you're a wonderful dad! keep up the good work!
One of the best videos I have ever seen. I could cry right now. Keep them coming
good dad, for making this bed for the boy well done . you have some great talent and a good heart.
I saw this video and for the life of me i cannot understand why people would give it a thumbs down .There are some rotten people out there.
The bed looks cool, and I'm happy for his family, but the frame is a crap design. Mattresses need to be able to breathe so they dry out and don't get moldy.

738polarbear i just noticed this too. idk either people sometimes have hearts of stone
Thanks for the insight.
looks like your son had gastroschesis or an omphalocele, my daughter was born 2 years ago with gastroschesis, she is a trooper
Yes, he was born with Gastroschesis and lost 75% of his small intestine at birth. That is why he is the size of a five year old at eight years old.
God bless you and your family, Samurai...

Great Job!!! Greetings from Poland!!!
Fuck Poland bro. The country of beautifl landscapes and woman, but terrible people in general and sick laws and government
why the hate...
+Pan Pieczarka are u serious?
Because I live in Poland. Im making 1.4 euro peer hour. im 25 y ears old beginner carpenter in Gdansk. I must live for that, pay bills and food. Try that... and zero help from government Im working my ass off on that shitty furniture shop, where my boss is totally dick. I have contract without any insuracne or healthcare so if something happens when im working on saws, i will not recieve any money from insurance. FUCKING GOOD DEAL I TELL YA :) ANd the best part is this was the only carpentry shop in Gdansk where they hire people for learn. Every other shops just hire regular carpenters/jointers for regular work ,without learning them or anything like that. So yeah... next time somebody will say something nice about Poland, mind that 70 % of people there work for special-agreement contracts withouth healthcare or insurance nor retierement . 50 % of them are working under 2 euro per hour. Imagine that :) Fuck Poland and all Poles who are responsible for that fucking country ( mostly people from 60s and 70s who fuckd up this country economy by living on government costs ,having free houses and steady jobs, sponsored by the commies. )
i have teras in my eyes right now man. i have 25th birthday tomorrow and im sitting on my bed, assumed the first half of my life. my gf is finishes her phd in banking and accountant next year. she has been working at banks call center for 5 months now. she make 2 euro per hour, working as a normal tech supervisor in alliorbank. never come to live in poland. come see our nature and old castles, sure, but never ever think of moving here with your family. sick country with sick justice system and healthcare. just stay away from poland
Awesome.....really amazing. A great father.
That just made my eyeballs leak a little
yeah, I got sawdust in my eyes too.
fucking ninjas cutting onions nearby again..
me too, that's Father's Love
Forgot to put my safety glasses on :,)
A labor of love. Gets me everytime. I hope the little guy enjoys many comfortable nights in that bed.
Good son. Good boy. Good father. God bless you. Greetings from Egypt.
You are a modern day Hero. To your son and viewers. I respect your Hustle sir.
Now THAT is love.
You're a good daddy.
To anyone who disliked this video, shame on you!
It's easy to misclick on mobile.
Welp? Then all is forgiven! hah hah!
Yeah.. They need to fill this out: www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/legalfiles/gates_letter_sept09/attach_1.pdf
Some are probably accidental, I've seen videos that I did not intentionally provide feedback but it shows I did something... either that or I was drunk 😜
Yeah, Donald Trump should file one of that, because he's a whining little bitch.
I love you, brother. Being a good Christian father is hard, I've got kids, but being a father to a son with special needs is even harder. My older brother is mentally handicapped, so I know the struggles first hand. The first time you mentioned your faith on here...that's when you earned my sub. I wish I had a million more accounts to sub after watching this video.
I built a crib for my first daughter and, since then, 3 more bio kids and 6 foster kids have ended up using it. Its a corner crib. It kinda looks like the superman symbol from above and the entire thing is metal-free (except the hinges). The front of the crib (the top leg of the pentagon when viewed as a superman symbol) is the door to open it up. Made entirely out of 1/4in yellow pine plywood and 2 gallons of glue.
Everyone always tells me I should crank up my own UA-cam channel, so as soon as I get my CNC shop setup, I'll start posting some videos. You are an inspiration. Also, I found your channel through your man crush ;) I've been watching that guy since before he had 5 digit subs.
amigo, tienes un don especial para hacer cosas con la madera, tambien tienes un angel que te acompaña y ese angel es tu hijo!!
saludos desde Chile..
Man, you make a tear falls from my eyes. This bed is made with your hands, your heart and live, and that's is the best gift that a father can give to his child... congratulation... greetings from the city of Valdivia, Chile....

Hi
How are you?
I watch all your videos and all beautiful.
Congratulations
A small advice to you, please make some holes on the bed plate, for airflow.. Othervise, bed will gonna smells like mushroom :(
As a father, this got me right in the feels. Well done, sir. Well done.
A really great bed from a great father for his great son! I wish you all the best with all my heart!
Love the music. The simplicity of shapes and choice of timber is inspiring =)
Also, what do you call the very long screws used on the bed ends next to the big notches?
GRK lag screws. They come in all different sizes.
You are just a nasty mean person. You have no consideration or self respect to ask such a question as that.
+The Samurai Carpenter whoever you are you are samurai carpenter I've discovered a few of your videos. You're carpentry is beyond amazing. But even better than you're woodworking skills I love to see that you involve your kids in your vids!! very inspiring!! thank you for what you do.
Ezekiel 6872 I hope youre english as a second language. If not youre sub-human
Dear friend, you are an artist and excellent channel, and as the carpenter Joseph received the miracle Jesus, you received the miracle ASHER. I'm sure he is loving her new bed. Hug from your Brazilian fan.
Caro amigo, você é um artista e excelente canal, e como o carpinteiro José recebeu o milagre JESUS, você recebeu o milagre ASHER. Tenho certeza que ele esta adorando sua nova cama. Abraço de seu fã brasileiro.
Thanks brother.
Awesome dad! 👍👍
Thanks Mr Samaria, you did a great job, and thank you for showing me your lovely little treasure at the end.
MS
All the feels. That's amazing both in the design/construction of the bed and the bond you have with your son and shared with us all. Keep doing what you do, sir. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch!

The Samurai Carpenter what kind of wood is it?
how long can woodwork last for?
300+ years if it's built right.
wow...but you mean it's coating or the structural ??(built right)
Bhojpuri v
Both, and more. Well designed woodworking takes several factors into consideration. Design that allows for even distribution of stress through the structure, as well as design that takes into consideration how wood changes due to temperature and humidity through it's life. So far as I know, none of us live in an environment where there is no change to temperature and humidity. Where I live air humidity can range from 100% for months at a time in the summer to less than 10% in the winter. Along the Pacific NorthWest, the humidity characteristics are somewhat different with high humidity in the winter and low humidity in the summer. Different woods handle changes in humidity differently, some picking up significant weight when humidity goes up, and lose weight again when humidity goes down, in the process swelling and shrinking, others are more stable. Wood finishes do exist that seal out changes in humidity, but most of them exist more to improve the appearance of the product.
Things from a structural perspective that also affect how well woodworking ages includes fit of joints, and how they are secured. From a maintenance perspective, wood that is regularly waxed and polished, dusted, etc, will last longer than wood that is left to weather.
There are several historic ships in the US that are made primarily of wood that are over 240 years old now, and are only not in active service because their value as historic fixtures is greater than their value as functioning craft. I do not know if this is true elsewhere in the world, but would not at all be surprised at wooden craft in the Pacific and Atlantic that are well over 300 or 500 years old and still in service for fishing or moving people from place to place, where that makes more sense than attempting to put in roads.
Furniture at the Vatican made of wood in the 5th and 6th century is still in use. Stradivarius violins are world renown for their sound quality and have set the standard for quality violins for over 250 years.
centuries if not abused and neglected
I feel I've learned something from you.
This bed would be irreplaceable treasure for your lovely kid.
from a small town somewhere in Japan

so nice to see young men so talented and creative , people like them should be making enough money not to worry from day to day but be free to create
As talented as you are, I think the best message is just how much you love your son. Thank you for sharing this video.
The best gift from a father!!!
