Whilst you had the deck out I'd have been tempted to pop a couple of small self-tapping screws through the mount and into the removable 'clipboard' panel? it comes with a 64GB card preinstalleg. but the free capasity is what u see there on the screen. AND you have not moved the slider on the menues to reveal the other options... Therefor you get the 4K lower down in the menu. Allso the "rolling shutter is not the distortion but the lenze(fisheye effect) that you get.

sorry for a dumb question since I am totally new to this - it seems to me that if you want to use this for navigation, you need your phone to be running the entire time and the google maps is running on your phone as well. So, you would need the phone to be powered as well. Am I missing something? Thanks v much for your excellent and detailed video

@@wafflesquare in all fairness- it’s hard to find because I found very few videos on wiring any rear camera to the brake lights, and I only found one that got into more detail than just saying to attach it to your brake lights and actually showed how to find the brake light wire, but didn’t show the connection when done.

You made getting the video files from the camera harder than it had to be... You have to clear the connections to use the app. It works seamlessly

how wide is the mounting base that you used? (front to back)
A little more than 2.5 inches
VLC may be a good option for the dashcam videos if you just need to download and watch them.

Correct. All CarPlay stereos and displays use a smartphone for data.

Yes you can use the detachable suction cup mount or detach the monitor from either mount.

Maps audio only plays through the speakers on the monitor for me.

My screen does not go blank unless power is disconnected. I would check your settings.

I wish I had included that aspect as well. Due to the complexity (and time required to record & edit), it definitely needs its own video.
