Hi, thank you. Knowing the UK guidelines will definiately help. It will be more improtant for Part 2 and PACES. Part 1 is less clinical, more science. It depends on your studying styles, I suggest doing the q banks first, then reading around the topics you are unfamiliar with.

My last 2 attempts were in 2018 and 2019. I realise that I will need to be more disciplined in my planning and adhering to the plan. I will be using the Pastest Q bank for my preparations. Hi, you can only attempt the MRCP part 1 after 1 year of working as a doctor in clinical practice.

I think there is still a shortage of doctors in the UK. Not sure how the COVID situation will change things.

@@mayankramteke153 If you are undecided, probably best not to do MRCP. MRCP is only needed for the medical specialties. MRCP is suitable for doctors who want to pursue the higher medical specilaties like gastroenterology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, renal medicine, respiratory etc. MRCP is not needed for other specialties like surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, psychiatry, general practice, radiology etc.
You can consider doing MRCS if you want to pursue orthopaedics or the surgical specialties.
