    Hi there! I like your video :) they are very informative! May I ask you a few questions? how long did it take you to complete all mrcp1, 2& PACES? also, did you repeat any of the papers? Does both mrcp part 1 and 2 only consist of mcqs, and not essays/written papers?

    • @lavnya70

      I took 1.5 years to complete MRCP.

    Good for you for passing the MRCP, it takes dedication, hardwork and the brains to master it.
    Currently I'm preparing for Part 2 MRCP, I just passed MRCP part 1 with the first try.
    I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass MRCP part 2 easily.
    However I'm terribly terrified about the PACES, I'm sure that I need to repeat PACES at least 4-5 times to pass it :( . I'ma very anxious very introverted person with no self steam with severe generalized anxiety, social phophibas, and depression, so PACES is my hell on this earth.

      I'm back in black lol, I just passed my MRCP part 2 today... Also first try... It was very easy compared to Part 1 as learning clinical judgment is much more interesting than the mundane basic science in Part 1.
      Anyways I knew I could and I did pass Part1/Part2 both in a single try.
      I'm going to recover for the time being and on October I have a local mandatory to pass exam for my board program, so after October my PACES journey will start.
      I'm going to come back after my PACES... Hopefully someday I will pass the PACES and come back here for the nostalgia.

    • @alifaras693
      @alifaras693 6 років тому +1

      Dr. Sneha J. Alphonsa
      I wish I can help but I'm not the correct person to ask.
      I was careless in regard to preperations for MRCP part 2 ( and Part 1 ), I didn't take the tests seriously because I knew I would pass both with minimal efforts, everyone has some skills, for me I excell at taking multiple choice.
      Anyways to answer your question for part 2 I only used passmedicine Q bank. I only answered half of the questions once ( about a 1000 Q from 2000).
      For MRCP part one i did the same, I answered about half of passmedicine part 1 Q bank.
      For MRCP part 1, I think passmedicine was good.
      For MRCP part 2, to be honest I didn't like the bank, as the question stems were so long, there were mistakes everywhere weather grammer/vocab/or medical facts.
      I heard onexamination has better q bank for part 2, but i cant givd my input if it really is.
      Lastly if you pass PART 1, then you are safe, the chance of failing Part 2 is very very low compared to Part 1. Just use ONE q bank, dont use multiple q banks, and dont study from books.
      Goos luck.

      Hi, if you have graduated outside the UK/EU you need to take the PLAB or one of the UK specialty exam like MRCP/MRCS/MRCOG/MRCPCH etc to obtain GMC registration. PLAB will be suitable for newly qualified doctors. The UK specialty exams will be suitable for more senior doctors. PLAB is a UK medical licensing exam. MRCP is a UK medical specialty exam.

    Hi Lavanya hope u r having an enjoyable sunday. Just wanted to ask u that how difficult is it to get a centre for PACES exam ?Here many people say that its very difficult to get a centre and that their applications have been rejected for years by the royal college for lack of enough slots. Also are chances more if one applies in the uk??? Also is the standard of exam in uk centres and outside uk centres the same? Though royal college will maintain it is but is that actually the fact.
    Also is there any advantage in subscribing to online video courses for paces like clinicalskillgopro or those by pass test in addition to taking a real time paces course ? Sorry i ask too many questions but ur information has high sensitivity and specificity :)

    • @lavnya70
      @lavnya70  5 років тому +1

      Hi, as far as I am aware, most candidates in UK and international centres do get a place to take the exam. There might be a waiting time. I am not aware of people waiting years? to sit the exam. I don't really know about the exam in international centres, so I can't really comment on that.
      I didn't use any online video courses. There are some good ones on youtube for free. Real time paces courses are still the best in my opinion.
      Hope this helps. All the best.

      Hi, since you have experiance in acute/emergency medicine, I would suggest that you take up a trust grade medical registrar post in UK after MRCP. You should be able to find more guidance on the CESR route on the GMC website. www.gmc-uk.org/registration-and-licensing/join-the-register/registration-applications/cesr-cegpr-application-process

    Thnx a lot. Can you plz tell how many days back before the exam I should attend a course for PACES.

      Hi Rezwan. I took the PassPACES course 1 month before the exam. It is better to do the course once you are prepared for the exam. The course will be more beneficial that way, as you will be able to practice your skills on the patients.

      One more thing Madam! I have completed my specialisation in cardiology from India. If I clear MRCP, will I be directly eligible for fellowships in cardiology like structural heart disease?

      @@karthiknatarajan892 Yes, you can apply for cardiology fellowship jobs in the UK after MRCP.
