I hope you are doing good!!!
As you all know Flowerhorn Fish is very aggressive and attacks on everything whatever is there in the tank.
So due to this, there is no chance that your flowerhorn can get scared of anything.
Most of the times I came to know from many people that their Flowerhorn Fish is getting scared and whenever they come near to their Flowerhorn, the Flowerhorn usually hides.
Or most of the time flowerhorn is sitting behind the filter and is not coming out.
So as per the User's demand, I created a video on this topic that what to do if your Flowerhorn Fish is hiding.
In this video, you can see that this is SRD Flowerhorn Fish, around 8 inches in size, is hiding behind the filter.
I am sharing some facts with you that are the main reason for Flowerhorn hiding behind the filter. You will not see this fish commonly hiding so it was not easy for me to capture every reason and depict in this video. So let me tell you all the facts one by one that why your Flowerhorn Fish is hiding behind the filter and along with this how you can make your Flowerhorn recover from this:
1.When you bring a new Flowerhorn at your home and set up it in the Aquarium. Out of curiosity when all the family members are standing in front of him then flowerhorn gets scared and find a place to hide and thus go behind the Filter to hide. So let it settle for 2-3 days then after that, you can make a rush in front of your Flowerhorn.
2.When you bring a new flowerhorn fish at your home and set up it in the aquarium. Now you turned on the Aquarium lights. These lights will make him scared. So it’s better that whenever you bring a new Flowerhorn Fish at home make sure that you don't switch on the Aquarium lights for 2-3 days.
3.Flowerhorn Fish are aggressive and love to live in temperature above 28-degree C. If you are using the heater and the temperature is set to 28-degree then it is fine. But if you are not using any heater and there is a sudden drop down in the temperature like due to rain, or AC in the room in which Aquarium is placed then also your flowerhorn will settle down and will hide behind the filter as hot temperature make him more aggressive. So make sure your Aquarium water temperature never gets down below 28-degree.
4.Water change. Always remember that never perform a 100% water change in the Flowerhorn Tank. I had seen many Flowerhorn keepers doing this operation and after that their Flowerhorn gets black and makes its head down. Guys, I repeat never do 100% water change. I had also seen that Flowerhorn owners shift their Flowerhorn from 1 tank to the other tank because of the Tank size issue. Due to this Shifting, your Flowerhorn will get in stress and sit down or go behind the filter.
5.Aquarium glass. Don't do unnecessary tapping on the glass. Unnecessary tapping on the glass sometimes makes your Flowerhorn scared and thus your Flowerhorn simply moves behind the filter.
6.While doing a water change, don't use a bathing mug for changing the water. While changing the water always use a Syphon pipe and while adding new water just use a pipe to fill water in the aquarium.
7.If your Flowerhorn is ill then also it will hide behind the filter. So if you think that the Flowerhorn is hiding behind the filter, his head is down and color starts to fade immediately check which color poop or potty you see in your tank. If the poop or potty is red then it's fine but if the color of poop is white then start the white poop treatment as soon as possible. Flowerhorn mainly hides behind the filter because of this issue.
8.Filter type in the Flowerhorn tank. According to my opinion, I would suggest you don't use any power filter in the tank. But if you still want to use the power filter then remove its air pipe and provide oxygen in the tank using an oxygen pump. If you don't want to remove the air pipe then decrease the pressure of airflow. Because Flowerhorn doesn't like high airflow in the tank. If you continue high airflow then this will make your Flowerhorn in stress and your flowerhorn will hide behind the filter.
So summing up your Flowerhorn is a very special fish and is very expensive also. Not everyone can afford this expensive fish to keep as a pet. So it's your duty only to take care of your Fish properly.
I had mentioned all the possible causes of Flowerhorn Fish hiding behind the filter. So do take care of your Flowerhorn properly.

Initially I made fun of you brother. I figured out a way. I changed the speed in settings to 1.5x.
This solved my problem.
Also i like how you observe this beautiful fish. Recently I purchased a YELLOW FH. Its an EXOTIC. I wish I could share the pics. I got an imported tank for the baby fh. It keeps hiding if anyone comes into the room. I have set up a FLUVAL 207, with bubble stick in the 2.5feet x 2.5feet x 22 inch tall aquarium.
I use SEACHEM products like PRIME, STABILITY, CLARITY, PRISTINE.
Give the Food XO HUMPY HEAD, XO RED SYN, AUSTRALIAN BLACK WORMS and fast the fish on SUNDAY.
I change 30% water weekly.
Then dose the tank with 1 cap PRIME, 1 cap STABILITY, 2 cap PRISTINE.
I feed the fish 3-4 times a day and that will be 4 pellets each time.
Tell me what should I do. The fish has been I this tank for a week now but still it hides as soon as I walk in.

You can set heater to 26 degree but make sure water temperature in summer dont rise more than 32 degree..

My flowerhorn is always afraid of light. I moved him from a 30 gallon to a 55 gallon. But even after 5-6 days he's afraid and settle down whenever I switch on the light. Without lighting he seems to do well. What should I do now? Please help me!!!

Then just add stress healer into the tank..switch on the light permanently..just turn off in night..it will recover soon

i m also thinking about this issue and i m 95% able to resolve this..just in a day or 2 waiting for the final result and will give u a video over this with full solution..

Either remove your sponge filter or cover it with glass..flowerhorn sometimes eat the sponge and it get stuck in their mouth or stomach..

@@BlueAquaticss I have removed filter (Place for him to hide) and found working for him to swim around tank. But still whenever i go near tank or lights switched on/off he is getting scared and taking corner. Please advice on any other action to be taken.

Hii, my flourhorn was recently dewormed and his colour of poop is red and his skin colour is Also proper but he's not eating food since a few days and he keeps on hiding behind the tank but when we come in front of the tank he comes out of the hiding place and comes to meet us but he's not eating please can u tell the reason and give a suggestion

I don't use aquarium lights in the morning bcoz sunlight can reach my aquarium very easily thats why i always cover half of the curtains
This is the only reason your fh is scared of light. Turn on your light at 8 am and turn off at 9 pm.
In 4-5 days your fh will get fine.
Same with my flower horn fish hidding and not eating pellets.. Any solution... I also dewormed after this
