Every flowerhorn owner cares a lot about their flowerhorn. Feed the flowerhorn from time to time and daily check the flowerhorn is well or not. Water changes are done on time so that there is no problem with their flowerhorn and the pet is always healthy and happy.
Have you ever thought that why your healthy and happy flowerhorn suddenly starts to behave abnormally? Why your bright colored flowerhorn suddenly changed its color to dark? Hello, I recently got a juvenile flower horn and he was thriving the first few days. All water parameters are good. He was swimming around the tank searching for food constantly and being attentive to someone approaching the glass. The next morning after he dies. No loss of appetite, a few black stripes the night before his death. I only had him for four days!
What was the water temperature?
The temperature is 82° & the ph was indicating 6.0 or lower. I got another juvenile yesterday. What can I do as soon as he shows signs of stress. He is in a tank now with three dwarf gouramis & they are fine. I’ll move him back once his home tank is ready.

You need to set the tank temp to 85-86 degree and raise ph level to 7.5-8 Ph is the main issue.

I'm upgraded my tank to 3feet so, my fh is in 3feet tank, but biological mdiea is not created as that much, so I think hie is hiding at bottom

Let him get settled in new tank..it will take almost a week..
Use heater and set temperature to 26 ℃ to maintain water temperature..

Dear...if you remember we talked about stress of my fish before 4days ..According to your suggestions I done everything upto possible . After doing All, the results are mixed up...Not upto mark. The head stinking regularly. My FH exactly same like your. sitting on bottom .stress line on body with black colour . Finally I decided to clean the tank with worm water and Change 100% water Change. Then
1.Declorinate the water
2.Added 5ml whitespot Special (OF)
3.Heater set on 28'c
4.done 5 hr water cycle
5.added 10ml stress heal & put Fish on tank.
Just left on his fate but after 1 hr he seems little happier than before ....
Tomorrow after the blue colour desolve in water I plan to add Micro bacteria S2 (Aquatics Remedies ) 10ml.

Yes I remember we had discussion on this..If you had done everything which I suggested then it means your water quality is not good..its very hard..
Its better to use RO water only..currently which water u are using?
I think your tap water is not good..it's high in chlorine..
Use RO water and daily do 10% water change..it will be helpful for your flowerhorn..

Flowerhorn fish is very sensitive to water..
If you can maintain good water you will definitely have good results..
Do 1 thing: check your water parameters and let me know chlorine level..

I have a flowerhorn in a 2 feet tank and the fish is 6 inch. @@studioxfilmlab.3034 I turned off the lights and he worked it out now he is healthy and attentive. When I did my water change I gave him a pellet or two just to make sure he would eat and be ok with the process.

Is there a way I can get some consultation from an expert? I am open to discuss a paid consultation setup if available.
My ask is this:
1. Evaluate my tank setup (ideally by physically visiting my home in Bangalore or via online meet on Zoom / Google Meet)

Example guess work evaluation: "You need to buy a product X (like Stressheal) as you *feel* that my tank has a bacteria bloom".
Example measurable evaluation: "I suspect a bacteria bloom. Please perform tests A, B, C and share the results. If it is a positive, please follow the following course of action (which can include buying some standard medication etc). Redo the tests A, B, C after X days and check results. If negative, tank should be clear and cycled. Else, continue with the following course of action ..."

My flowerhorn was aggressive at day time but today at night he starts hiding behind the filter and i have switched on the hitter ,oxygen machine and i closed the lights of room while sleeping then also he was hiding continuosly behind filter so what should I do for it plz guide me .

Hope you can help. My flowerhorn was bloated and treated him with metroplex in the water for 10days and feed kanaplex for 10days. He expelled bunch of stuff and was still active and eating. He started to bloat again but he was bloating more the before. So after 1 week with carbon in the water i removed the carbon and treated the water with kanaplex then bloating stopped. Now it has been 11 days and he is still in stress and not eating. I have been doing 25% water chnaged every 2 days. Temp is 80 degrees f. Should i do a bigger water change? Now he only has white poop long and stringy and large round sections in the white poop. The last treatment was on sunday 10/8/23 with expell p and yesterday after 24 hours did a 25% water change and added stress guard. He is still not eating today
Please treat white poop. You must start doing white poop treatment asap

Hi Sir, my new flowerhorn is trying to hide beside the filter at the top of tank for last 2 days out of 4 days at my home aquarium. It's color also has changed and it became dark as well.. It appears to be in stress. It's a 30 liter tank and I changed 50% water now but not much change. Flowerhorn is a small one 3 inch size with a good head growth when it came, but head also seems shrunk. It's eating whenever we feed. Don't see white poop as well.
30 litre tank is very small size for a flowerhorn. You cant maintain water quality in this sized tank.
Better to buy a big tank or dont keep flowerhorn

Why it should alsways be red poop. Like I am feeding freeze dried blood worm which is black in color & my monster KOK monkey head flowerhorn excrete black poop. If I fed him red pallets then only he will excrete red color poop. So, it depends on the kind & color of the food one fed to flowerhorn. Not talking about white poop here.

No we never recommend this. It might be possible that sometimes after water change your flowerhorn gets in stress.
I have bought a 6 months old SRD flower horn and have added 2 small blood parrots in the tank as well along with FH. They were ok for few days but after a week FH started getting aggressive on the parrots. What to do any idea?

Sometimes white poop is because of water change. As you said flowerhorn is new in the tank so its normal.
Dont keep parrots in small sized tank.

Bro from so many days my flower horn colours is faded to black but it was fully red.and it head fully shrinked . So yesterday I changed the water of 70percent so can u suggest any to bring back my flower horn. I hope u reply soon thank you👍👍

My water conditions are good I keep doing 40% water changes. However i got him some live larva. Was that the issue that got his head down. Pls advice.

Hi dude! Nice English. My flowerhorn is stressed due to ammonia. His head has shrunk and is nearly nonexistent now. I did a water tank flush and the ammonia is at 0 but my flowerhorn is stressed since the start. He’s dull in colour, but has started to gain my trust slowly. He is only 3 inches. He used to hide behind the filter but has been swimming around now. Do you know how I should groom him? And let him gain my trust so I can touch him?

Blue Aquatics - Doctor of Fishes Hi! I did a 50% change and then waited 15 minutes, filled up 25% and then put in dechlorinstor and filled it to the top. Once I finished, I did 50% again after an hour and a half and double dosed the dechlorinator (Seachem Prime) and The water went from 3 or 4PPM to 0. If you have a Facebook I can show you before and after picture. When he first came to my house he was beautiful and had a big hump. Now he has no more hump. After the big water change, he doesn’t hide behind filter anymore but comes out to play.
This the biggest mistake u did..u break the tank cycle by doing this..due to which this all happened to your flowerhorn..
Never change 100% water..

Blue Aquatics - Doctor of Fishes oh, nono. I didn’t water change at the start, I did it today when ammonia was severely high today. He wasn’t happy and hiding behind the filter every day until I did the water change today. He used to be frantic and crash against the tank but now he doesn’t. He comes up and tries to eat and I hand fed him a few minutes ago. He is eating properly, he eats more than before now. I did the big 100% about 4 hours ago and he’s been happy so far.
Blue Aquatics - Doctor of Fishes he been a lot happier now. After the 100% he’s happy. but I will keep a close watch. I hope his hump will come back soon. Will it? It used to be big and he was a Mega Blue Platinum Kamfa, only 3 months old now.

Let him get settled in new tank..dont turn on light for a week..
It will take a week to get settled and recognize his new owner..
After a week his color will be back..
