I welcome you all to my channel Blue Aquatics.
Friends, keeping a fish aquarium at home is considered as the best hobby nowadays. If you stare at your aquarium for some time and watch your fishes swimming happily then I am sure you feel pretty relaxed. If you are new to this hobby then immediately start with this hobby and see your fishes will help you in getting relaxed.
Also as per the Vastu Shastra keeping a fish at home brings positive energy at home.
So guys this is all about the benefits of keeping Aquarium at home. Our today's topic is on the mistakes which a Flowerhorn owner should never do. So without wasting any time lets start with the mistakes one by one and understand it side by side.
1. If you are new to this hobby then never start with keeping Flowerhorn Fish first. Yes you heard it, right guys. Flowerhorn Fish is a very unique fish and wants owner attention. Being a new fish keeper you will ask everyone that which fish can be kept with Flowerhorn Fish and everyone will suggest you don't keep any fish with Flowerhorn.
2. Over Feeding Flowerhorn Fish: Guys never overfeed your Flowerhorn Fish or any other Fish. If you are feeding less then your fish growth rate will be slow but if you do overfeed then the growth rate will not become fast but will lead to several health-related issues. I had seen many flowerhorn owners who are feeding their flowerhorn without counting the number of pellets.
3. Not Cleaning the Tank Water: As you, all know that Flowerhorn Fish is a big eater thus produces a lot of waste. This waste then gets mixed in water and produces ammonia which effects Fish health. As the ammonia in water level increases your flowerhorn fish start to shrink its head and fade its color.
4. Never do a 100% water change: Guys this point is not only for the Flowerhorn Fish owner but for all the Fish lovers who keep fish as a wet pet at their home. Guys in every aquarium there is a proper nitrogen cycle maintained by the beneficial bacteria and upon changing the 100% water this cycle crashes. The crashing of this cycle leads to Fish death soon after changing the water.
5. Feeding High Protein Feed to increase Head size: Yes you heard it, right guys. Don't feed so much of high protein food to your flowerhorn fish just to increase its head size. Guys do you know that high protein food sometimes causes ill effects on Flowerhorn health. You must have noticed that some flowerhorn fishes have pimples on their head.
6. Feeding colored food to enhance the color of Flowerhorn: Flowerhorn Fish comes in many different types of colors and out of these Golden base and red colors are most common. So for increasing the color of flowerhorn to red I had seen many flowerhorn owners feeding unnecessary colored feeds to them without knowing that the type of flowerhorn which they have will be able to get this color or not.
7. Medication: Avoid putting unnecessary medication into the Flowerhorn tank. On a daily basis I attend so many queries in which people ask me about the medicine to put into the flowerhorn tank. If you had done weekly water change then just test your water. Check for the required amount of PH and TDS and if necessary then only add medicine else don't add.
8. Avoid putting gravel into the tank: As you know Flowerhorn Fish produces a lot of waste. So if there is gravel in the tank then all this waste will get stuck into the gravel which is very difficult to clean. I am not against adding gravel into the tank. In fact red chips added into the Flowerhorn Tank helps in enhancing the color of your Flowerhorn Fish.
9. Feeding live items: Nowadays so much of cross-breeding is going on especially with Flowerhorn Fish that even the medicines which were effective in treating flowerhorn diseases are not working anymore. So my concern is that on feeding any live item you are just inviting a parasite to enter into your flowerhorn stomach because you don't know what all infections that live item contain.
10. Changing water of Flowerhorn Tank with a mug: Yes guys you heard it right. Never change your flowerhorn tank water using a mug. By doing this either you will make your flowerhorn get into stress or might be possible that your flowerhorn attacks on your hand. See when you put anything into your flowerhorn tank then the flowerhorn immediately runs towards him thinking that it is food.
Guys I think these are enough points which you should keep in your mind if you are Flowerhorn Fish owner and never do this with your flowerhorn.
So summing up your Flowerhorn Fish is different from all other fishes so it's your duty to treat this pet differently.

My flowerhorn is having white poop issue and currently undergoing treatment but also he has lost colours and head and is scared of me. He was very active and aggressive before. Is this scary nature due to sickness and once recovered will get his nature back ?

Please remove that turtle inside your aquarium, as it needs to rest and cannot swim all the time. Turtles are not fish and they need to rest also on land.

Flowerhorn surely is a wonder..to maintain....i being fish lover from past 20 years or so..settled for flowerhorn..but as they say...good things come with bad too.. flowerhorn is surely a hard fish but diseases to come to this fish which no local shoperkeeper might advice(lucky if you have one)....
Rightly said about flowerhorn, also it has immunity too or we can say strength to fight diseases as it is hard fish. If treated properly it can live longer and entertain you for many years...

Im using community tank, in which i left thai silk fries two weeks ago and now it had developed a hump. Im very happy for tat. Later when i added one kml fry, all other parrot chichlid remained friendly except this thai silk which usually keeps disturbing him and running behind him. Im not sure he is attacking him. If this is not a problem for the long run or else i should plan something

20 gallons tanks is very small sized tank for keeping a flowerhorn fish. Minimum space required by flowerhorn fish is 75 gallons.
Green water means that algae is growing in your tank which is not good for flowerhorn.
What are you feeding to your flowerhorn fish?

Instead of this rs 3003, you can use top filter..internal filter will make your flowerhorn in stress..

1. Dont add ceramic rings directly into the tank. Watch my video on ceramic rings for more info.
2. Instead of using internal filter its better to use sponge filters.

Can we feed goat heart mix daily once and evening with pellet food
Is it no problem as one of my frd suggest to feed him once per day and another with pellet food
In morning i will give him goat heart mix frozen food
And in the evening i feed him about 8-10 pellets of okiko platinum
Kindly suggest me is there no issues ryt as he is about 6-8 inches
I am using vaquaria goat heart mix flowerhorn frozen food
I never recommend these items to feed daily..as they are rich in protein so chances of stomach infection increases..
Instead of feeding goat heart daily you can feed 3 times a week in the morning..
As yoir flowerhorn is more than 6 inches so you should now feed less protein..high protein diet can cause stomach related issues..

It is always preferred to have bare bottom in flowerhorn tank as it's easy to clean and easy to maintain
Add a single layer of red chips to your tank, it will accumulate good bacteria and it will be easy to clean as well. It will also enhance your fish colour.

Stop feeding him live food..then only it will eat pellets..
Starve your flowerhorn for 2-3 days and try to feed him pellets..it will definitely eat..

My flowerhorn fish becomes inactive and dull after 10 days of water change. And shivers/vibrates his head and body very often. Is mainly rectified by changing water. I don't know what's the problem

Hi, uh my auntie's flowerhorn died and we dont know why. We just woke up in the morning then the water went yellow and when we checked him, he's dead. There were bubbles floating and the oxygen aint working. And we thought that he must be bumping his head to the oxygen as he always make noises.

to be very honest its not possible for any of us to understand which fish is compatible to which fish..i had arowana and flower horn in.one aquirim...my Arowana killed my flowerhorn..whereas in ur aquarium both are fine..so it works sumtmns it doesn't...no one can actually guarantee which fish is compatible with which..ten channels will suggest u10 things

This is because u break the tank cycle..immediately add water conditioners for making tank cycle fast..also add ceramic rings..
Sir i use rid all liquids and how much to add ceramium rings in two feet cuz he is only 3.5 baby , his head was grown but it also gone, also I have used nax 400 tablets , please guide me what to do cuz I was not in home for 1 month and my brother was taking care he changed whole 100 percent water, also he have black markings on his head and body I want to cure him plz help
Just add 10-15 ceramic rings in your tank..after that add MICRO LIFE S2 medicine in your tank..within 3-4 days it will be fine
