I don't know much about drag racing, but hearing "disqualified, you can't go that fast in a Jr." made me laugh lol. I guess it's for safety reasons but hearing that you "can't go that fast" in a drag race is funny
I mean it's not weird to see in sports. There are rules to be followed, you can't just put an F1 car in a GT3 race. You can't put a heavyweight against a lightweight.
Jr. Dragsters are limited to 7.99 in the 1/8 mile and are meant for kids.

Mostly all drag races have time/speed limits for each class also it can depend on the car’s safety features, I.e rollcage, racing restraints, fire suppression equipment.

Toyota isn't pushing the EV stuff the same way GM, Stellantis and Ford have.

Toyota seems to stick with being hybrid. They know the market and infrastructure can’t handle all Electric yet even though ford, rivian, Tesla and a few others are pushing it

My drag racing fam! Make no mistake, this is perfected now, but jr funny cars made their debut around 1996 - they were featured in either Hot Rod or another drag racing magazine - i had the magazine and oogled over it for 10 hours on a flight to Greece! They were never hit… i BEGGED my dad to build me one , the chassis and bodies were available lol it never took on but i hope these make their way to the jr categories!

Kids glued to a PS whatever, Or kids doing some wrenching under adult supervision. Learning how to setup a competition vechicle. Learn that a computer is a TOOL and not just an addiction. Learn the importance of SAFETY and sportsmanship. This is a great thing. I would love to see Mattel/Hot Wheels/Barbie and Associated, Losi, ARRMA not to mention some if these video gaming and consumer electronics throw in some love and sponsorships. Maybe some technical school tuition $$ as championship winnings. There's a lot of good that can come from this kinda thing.

I really dont get how the jr dragsters are still around, way too much money for what they are worth. All they teach is how to drive straight and cut a light. My opinion......put your kid in a dirt kart so that they can actually learn traction and throttle control, and when they are old enough, throw them in a big car and they will be ready. I guess the major problem is that there is no middle stepping stone for them, like a slightly bigger dragster with a 600cc motorcycle engine in it.
IHRA had them years ago,their nothing new. There’s also mini fc’s.

Drop the pro stocks .
Why drop the most competitive class? If anything, drop the Nitro cars. Half of the field either blows up or spins the tires anyway. At least Pro Stock cars can run within 5 hundredths of each other.
Pro Mod is way more fun to watch.
@@HemiSlant6828 make the cars safer and bring back the 1/4 and maybe only a quarter of the field spins or blows. Shortening the tracks only made teams throw twice as much into the motor to make up for a second less of uptime.
@@YoSuey These cars are never going to get slower because teams and drivers basically want to break physics to see how fast they go. 5 years time, those cars will be running the speeds they run now in the 1/8 mile. If NHRA got rid of these cars and promoted slower classes that actually hook without issues, then we might be able to have a stable sport. If fan attendance goes down because no fuel cars, then NHRA can go under as much as I care. The fuel cars stop being entertaining when only 1 car In each pair for the first two rounds actually makes it down the track.
Pro Stock actually has a case for sticking around. They are always running within a tenth of each other, 2 tenths on bad weekends. Most of the cars hook & book. Usually after the first round, cars are within a bumper of each other all the way down the track. There's too many good arguments to boot a competitive class like this. The only thing that you could argue is it's constantly either Anderson vs. Enders, or KB Racing vs Elite Motorsports, and even that's going away with smaller teams starting to claw their way in too.
That's about as much a supra as iam Brad Pitt.
