There's nothing like being a spectator at a racing event. Camera shots on UA-cam just isn't the same as being there.
The cars sound like machine guns. When I filmed a few races years ago, my phone's microphone couldn't even capture the idle engine properly. Talking to some of the mechanics was also insane. Didn't even know 0-60 times in under a second were possible before.

I miss watching Saturday morning cartoons, NHRA races, and Wild World of Sports. Basically the 70's and 80's.😁
I grew up in the city but there was nothing I looked forward to more than going to my grandads place in Ohio and watching cartoons and drag racing
Me too. I thought it was Wide World of Sports. But I remember watching Kenny Bernstein running down the track, and I remember Jackie Stewart interviews for F1, all on Saturday mornings. Back when TV was worth watching.

nope nitro cars will we get a revamp and they’ll extend the wnd lengths of tracks so the 1/4 can be ran again. Fastest driver in history is Sammy Miller, it would be disrespectful to put him and Brittany in the same category. His record are untouchable as hydro jet cars are banned from all strips

It's amazing that the throttle response time being just milliseconds causes the exhaust to produce a shockwave. Absolutely nuts.

The Force is strong with Team Force. The consistency of outrageously fast runs shows the skill of that team. Some mad scientists at work.
Nobody tunes a Top Fuel engine like Dave Grubnik. Speed comes from horsepower, and he routinely tunes Brittany's car for the highest speeds ever seen in the class. You can finesse ET, but not horsepower. Well done Dave!
She's absolutely phenomenal! Way ta go Brittany!
In terms of speed, to see David Grubnic tune a dragster to those speeds is incredible, especially considering the gear ratios. All the accolades go to those with wrenches in their hand, not the ignition keys.
That is fact.. people are like oh what a great job she done.. but they dont think about the people who were spinning wrenches on it that made it happen for the pilot to go 338 mph

@@tomshea8382 they are both really good, she keeps a fast car in her own lane, but that does not create top speed. She can affect et by keeping it straight as possible or win on a hole shot, that is all her! Make a car set a all out speed record is 100% in the pits period!

Its got me stumped how a driver can think and react that fast ? They are litteraly the fastest pèople on the planet no holes barred, more G's than a fighter jet and way faster when it comes to acceleration, absolutely amazing, I've seen a couple of funny cares once, and the sound and the atmosphere was electric, my heart was racing it was so exciting, I really hope to see the Top Fuelers one day

I've never been to one of drag meets, but I would imagine, as a spectator, you would feel the punch in your chest as they take off.

late 70's hydrogen paroxide rocket , sub 3 sec quarters. Were being artificially held back .

297mph in the 1/8th 660ft and only gained 41mph at 1000ft. What am I missing? I would think the top end would be greater with 340 ft left.
That must be the stopping distance. There's something weird going on.
Wonder how the top end looks at say.. 5 miles? With about the same stopping distance too. Engine would be short-lived if not detuned. But where is the fun in that?
They let off the throttle shortly after the 1/8 mile mark. A lot of times they don't go full throttle the entire way. Many times the engine doesn't even survive the entire 1/4 mile.
Let's face it, Brittany's the bomb comin' outta the hole! They never touch on that, but they should! She's always only a coupla thou's away from jerking the bulb! Insanely fast reaction time! If she wasn't a drag racer she'd be a gun fighter! I don't know how Papa John can ever wipe the smile off his face! Rock on Brittany! And to Senor Grubner & crew, you know you're the best! Keep it up!

All nice and good, but back when they went the actual quarter mile, i saw 345 348 one night in Joliet. So the speed there doing now to me isn't records cause it's the 1000 ft mark that they are doing, not the quarter .
