  • I was never thinking of having my own Kitesurf UA-cam channel. I love kitesurfing and teaching people how to enjoy this extreme and beautiful sport safely and after seeing many kitesurfers putting themselves and others in dangerous situations I was looking for a way to solve this problem. The only good solution I found was to do something about it by creating my own kitesurf channel and episodes around basics and safety in Kitesurfing.
    I hope you like my work and that you will share my tutorials with many kitesurfers around the world to spread the correct and safe informations of how to handle a kitesurf session.

    Petar - your videos are simply incredible. I am a beginner and these videos are, without any doubt, the best on youtube. A big THANK YOU for all the effort you put on these and please keep them coming.
    To me there's no worst feeling than go in the water without knowing what you are doing in case things go wrong. Your videos address exactly those odd situations that most of the kite schools never talk about.

    Totally agree....my sentiments concurr with the lessons I took many, many moons ago, I found the school wants you to comeback for more lessons so they dont teach you the basics of kite safety and so on.....but thankfully people like yourself are aware of the pitfalls of instructors too!!! Safety first and foremost, things on the water or beach happen fast (lightning fast) ...so your tutorials will help save people from getting hurt, or hurting others or worse DEATH!!! Kudos....I will be watching 1000 islands Canada

    What a great iniciative Petar, your channel is a goldmine of instructional video, but i also really enjoy watiching your sessions! I have recommened your channel to a bunch of my kiting buddies, and it had helped them greatly as well. I really enjoy your editing too, and i hope this channel will become more mainstream soon!

    I share your videos a lot I have a lot of frends that jump and they don’t know how to do safe rescue how to help someone or even to help another kiter to recover the board good job dude

    Good work on all your videos Petar.
    Well yes so true. I don’t show “students this boring things”, I believe to have heard that from my kite surf instructor in Sri Lanka too when I was criticizing him to have not shown me self rescue after 22 hours of kite lessons.
    Next kite school now in Germany, I had two different kite instructors from same kite school. First one (also the owner of the school) says it is hardly possible to do up wind body drag with a board in hand. Another instructor from same school has shown me how well he can do it. 😂
    But I got shown self rescue there.

    I see whacky kiters where I am at. At least 5 have thrown my kite in air when launching. One guy had a 15m foil kite while others on 9-12m kites and launched it and was about launched across the field. I self launch bc if things like that and it also allows me to get an idea of whether or not my kite is too big.

      yeah, unfortunately sounds like a normal day on a kite beach 🙈
      I hope you self launching is safe as well ;)

    You’re right, I had to ask for self rescue. Just one instructor let me land and launch a kite. Luckily there’s UA-cam and channels like this, that helped me practicing these basic stuff…
    One of the reasons I decided to become an instructor myself, I think it can be done a lot better than most schools do right now. More explanation, divide practice in more isolated steps and add real safety practice. In the end I think most people are looking for this.

    • @kitesurfexperiencebypetar
      @kitesurfexperiencebypetar  Рік тому

      Yes, unfortunately many kite schools don’t ask their students why they decided to take a kite lesson, so the school idea is just to put them as soon as possible on the board as they believe that this is all they want.
      Thank you for watching my videos, I hope you were able to learn something new 🙏🏻🙌🏼

      It's already noticeable in the packages they offer, mostly 3 to 5 two hour group lessons, with some kind of promise attached to it you're a kitesurfer after those lessons. Most people need more time to really become an independent kitesurfer.
      And the group lessons are nice for the first two lessons, when explaining a lot, after that you will need some real fly time.
      I did group lessons first, then moved on to lessons with two (with my son) but I really started to progress in private lessons. In the end I was very lucky to have a really good instructor, he taught me a lot more than all the others together, besides just getting on the board. Stuff like induced wind and the effect it has on riding upwind, I did some lightwind starts with kiteloops, self rescue, landing and launching, drift launch, how to turn the kite when the trailing edge is on the water. Sure it all takes time and lessons are not cheap but I'm gratefull this guy learned me this stuff.

    Iko teaching method is killing the sport you can't teach the sport using one kite and only in the water . Give people fun options

  • @swichkite
    @swichkite Рік тому

    shouldn't teach kitesurfing if there not able to stick to the teaching program which includes full self rescue and pack down plus self landing! I would not sign anyone off that I’m not happy to be kite safely, it reflects badly on a school if there not competent

    • @kitesurfexperiencebypetar
      @kitesurfexperiencebypetar  Рік тому
