    Great Videos. Thanks. A skill I have been told to learn is to know where the kite is without looking up at it.
    eg. from the pressure on the bar and noticing the line angle in your peripheral vision.
    Do you do that? If so can you do a video on it?

      Practicing to control the kite without watching is definitely a good idea, and super necessary when wanting to ride up wind. In the first hours of lessons I tell my students to watch on the side on something and to have a peripheral view on the kite. This is a very basic task that many instructors give their students in the first hours of lessons. In the end is all about a lot of hours of kite control in different conditions and different sizes of the kite. As I mentioned in some of my episodes, holding the bar completely in the middle will give you the best feeling of where the kite is.

      @@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Thanks. I'll start learning my Kite Spidey Sense. lol.
      I've learned to hold the bar in the middle.
      Thanks for the tips.
      I see you have the new North kite colour. Nice.
      I do like the old 2022 blue you had, I have the same colour in the reach.

      Hey Florian, hehe but did you even start kitesurfing? how many hours you did?

    • @IJzzo
      @IJzzo Рік тому

      @@kitesurfexperiencebypetar About 26 hours at two different IKO affiliated schools and I guess about 18 hours now on my own. Well my last school told me that my board is too small for learning.
      Well my worst experience so far is that I have forgotten the safety leash after the second start of kite at the beach on my own. (Of course the kite was front stalling at beach when I didn’t had the safety connected)
      Well I could deliver footage for Ducktapewillfixit, if someone would record me. 😉

    I have to disagree! If you don't kite that often and want to learn something new as soon as you enter the water do some basic moves you already know to feel the conditions and boost your confidence. But only do it in your first 20min so you don't gas out! Going straight for a new move when you haven't kite for a few days or weeks it's NOT a good tip!

      You are right Pedro, it is not recommended to immediately go for learning a new trick without previously kiting for longer than 3 days, I'm sorry I didn't mention that :)
      If you already been kiting the previous days and you know the spot conditions I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to practice your new move as soon as you enter the water :)
