I like the soil mixture that you invented. Very interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Enjoyed watching repotting of the babymommas. The Verrucosum is so difficult, I’m not so sure my baby will make it but will keep trying to try getting it to adulthood 🤞.

Your Philodendron brandtianum looks really good. It’s not a plant I really been attracted to as the ones I’ve seen have small leave and the silver variegation didn’t look great. I much prefer yours as the amount of variegation is spot on and those are good sized leaves. I would want to grow it up something to see how big they could get. Also your handwriting is so neat and artistic. Very professional labelling.

Because of your comment, I became increasingly curious about it. I just discovered that my brandtianum is likely a “wild form” brandtianum. Leaf shape and variegation pattern is a bit different and the leaf size is bigger than the normal brandtianum. Go figure 🤷🏻‍♂️ Lol thank you for pointing it out!

@@SuchPlants Well it’s definitely the ‘wild form’ to go for. That was a lucky find as I’d never heard of the ‘wild form’ variety before.

O/ new sub here, really like your channel!
pff tell me about the pests that come in potting soil, it totally annihilated 3 of my plants (Monstera Adansonii, Chlorophytum Comosum and my oregano), who I had to totally cut down and are in quarantine now. I think the oregano won't survive because it has 2 pests going on at the same time and I can't seem to get rid of both. The Monstera and Chlorophytum are recovering now and are growing (don't know if the monstera is going to survive because it still has some health problems because of the fungus gnats and some root rot unfortunately )The oregano still wants to grow, but I can never really eat it because of the damage of the pests -.- .
I don't have a lot of knowledge about what type of soil to use yet (learning tho.. the hard way as well lol) , but thank you for the mix tip! I'll give it a try make a mix and repot some of my plants, because it's a constant battle.

I always propagate my plants with a friend, ssually a pothos. Atleast for me I noticed it helps roots faster or maybe I'm crazy 🤷‍♀️🤪

I was having the same issues, so I converted everything to semi hydro. I thought the soil mites were coming from the ProMix soil I was using, but I think it might be from the peat moss that I added in.
Because.... I was germinating seeds with peat pods last week and once I added water, I noticed a ton of soil mites (tiny white spider mites looking) the very next day. Therefore, I think the soil mites may actually be coming from the peat. 🥺

Uh oh! That might have to be my next move if these soil mites don’t go away! 😖

Where did you get your Brandi? I got mine from Ecuagenera pop up sale and I’ve always been wondering why it’s not the usually itty bitty ones I keep seeing online. I was told it’s a Wild Form Aff.

Yeah I bought it from Houseplant Nation in LA and it was labeled as a Brandtianum, but a google search tells me it’s the Wild Form 🤷🏻‍♂️ It has bigger, thicker leaves and less silver pattern. Still a gorgeous plant though!
