Thanks! I really appreciate comments like these and I am glad you find them relaxing. I have seen many comments now from you, so thank you for the channel support.
Relaxing and chill video. Love it. Also the tip about stuck dirt on leaves might be a sign of spidermites was really helpful. Beautiful Verrucosum, Splendid and Philodendron 💚🌿
Hi Jeff. I don't have Splendid but the other 2 are my recent purchased plants. I repoted my Lynette and I noticed that she had spider mites. It probably came with it, I normally don't have them. I treated her and she is fine but I didn't pay attention for those seed pods. I'm really thankful for your video today and I will re pot her and do the same what you did. Thank you again for sharing your great care of plants. Oscar is gorgeous ! 🥰
I really like that you play some relaxing piano jazz in the background. That really goes well with the mood. Good vid. Philodendrons have moved up to number two on my top five genera. Anthurian's is definitely number one. I received my Philodendron Esmeraldense today, and it is ten times nicer than I thought it was going to be. That is one of my top dream plants, and I finally have it. I also received a Dieffenbachia Amy today. Both plants are perfectly healthy and looking great after shipping. Nice day to watch plant vids...
parents are weird like that. my mother told me I have too many plants, and I do currently have more plants than she does but she has a lot of plants. as well. And she wonders where I get it from.
You often make me giggle, Jeff, the pencil guy. But seriously, very informative. (wishing you tube had spell check ...anyway) I appreciate how you had a close up of what it sphagnum moss vs roots. Also, who knew!? Reusing the moss? Not everyone would think of that, but so incredibly earth friendly since it is not easily (or at all?) renewable. So glad that you shared that, it was an important things for all to learn and be aware of. Have no fear, mother in laws will rarely, if ever give the son in laws approval. You scored big!
@@EverythingPlants I am sorry, I just realized it was YOUR mother that said that, not your wife's. My bad. Ooopsie. And it is meant as "Jeff, the pencil guy" like "Bill Nye, the science guy" Ok I am shutting up now. 🤣
Hey Jeff, me again. I rewatched this video because I am obsessed with Philodendron Verrucosum. It is way out of my budget for sure. Yours is just too cute. As a comparison, I was wondering if you would share what that plant in that size would cost in Canada.
Yes they will attach....eventually. I just mist the plank every once in awhile. I had a philo brasil grab onto my drywall all on its own lol ua-cam.com/video/KVwO3m3I_wo/v-deo.html
I counted my plants and I think 97 is too many. Watching your videos motivates me to do my plant chores. Thank you. Still need to downsize though 😬 It’s a splendid.
@@EverythingPlants Duplicates. I got rid of some and bought more recently. Plant addiction is real. My goal is 80 plants. Thankfully most of my plants are common. Maybe 20 uncommon/expensive plants.

Loved the video so informative and relaxing 👍💚I’m thinking about ordering some orchid pots. I like being able to see what’s going on and not everyone likes terracotta. I’m using spagnum as a top dressing for some of my ferns. I like the way it looks and it is easily pushed aside to check soil moisture. I’m thinking about trying it on string of turtles as a top dressing…I have one growing in it and it’s loving the moss! I can’t wait to see roots growing on your planks…. You have quite a lovely plank collection🪴
I keep it around 50%....maybe it's your soil? I use tropical mix, orchid bark (which has perlite and charcoal in it) as my soil for philodendrons. A nice light mix is good for air flow and root health.
I got a monstera peru from Steve's Leaves a couple months ago, when I received it I saw that it was planted in sphagnum moss. When I took it out of the little grow pot the roots had just encased the moss inside of them. Like looking at it all I can see is roots with touches of moss poking out here and there. I didn't want to destroy the roots by trying to untangle them because they've taken the shape of the pot. It really needs a bigger pot though, any suggestions?
Hey Cara. I would just soak it in room temp water and leave it for a bit. Then try and untangle the mess haha I also like to use a pencil to pick away slowly as I find this doesn't damage the roots as much as fingers.
If you don’t boil it, you may be able to get it to grow fresh moss! So if you’d like your own supply someday (it’s slow), you can put it in a container and keep it moist in a well lit area and you’ll see it resprout if there’s any life in it.
Those foam things are awful! I've had plants get strangled by them before and confused the heck out of me as to why they're failing until I find the foam. Once the foam is off they flourish.
I needed this today. Just a chill video of a dude repotting some plants. Jeff, don't underestimate the stress reduction power your videos have!

I really need to repot my plants although watching you repot yours was a lot more fun!
🤣 glad I could help
I'm with you on reusing soil and other stuff as much as I can. Great tips on how to look for spider mites. Thanks for a great video.

Do your large heart leaf philos require high humidity? I have a plowmanii that I can’t make happy.

What wood do you use for the planks? Is it a special kind
Great videos! Does the plank need to be moistened each time at waterings specifically for pothos? Thanks
I try and remember to wet the plank for the roots to latch onto.
Will you reuse the spagnugnum moss? I boil it and use it in the terrariums that I make. It's so hard to find locally, that I hoard it! LOL
Yes! I have never boiled mine....I probably should, but I just give it a good rinse 🤣 I'm getting razy these days lol
@@EverythingPlants If a good rinse is enough I think I will give it a go too! Thanks Jeff.
@@CeCee-no8bg I haven't had an issues yet, but I don't have like a ton of experience with moss for the long term.

I use your light trick to check for mites and I found some 😭I think 🤔 I got rid of them🤷♀️
Nice! Sometimes you don't know they are there until you use the light...otherwise you will notice it later when you get leaf damage.

I hate those things as well. I think they definitely strangle the plant....thanks for the confirmation of your experience as well.
I lost some lovely plants early in my journey. After the fact I found the fabric pods choking the roots. Now I check for them upon repotting.✌🏾
nice video
Thanks Diane!
