I work in an ICU and just had a patient with a fist-sized matted clump of hair in her neck (due to mental health reasons plus 4 days in bed for physical reasons). I'm not sure if I would have believed it was possible to de-tangle without having seen your videos, but now my fingers itched to at least try! i’m a nurse and i did the same thing!! had a patient come up from a few week stay in the icu and had the same size matt. i sat down with her and some water and very carefully and slowly worked out the matt! she was so happy :)
Thank you for doing that. My Mom was in the ICU on a vent, in a medication coma for 2 months. When they brought her out she had a massive tangled mat on the back of her head and I just cried. I had no idea no one was combing her hair that whole time. I thought that would have been part of regular hygiene and it wasn't. If we had known or seen it we would have combed it ourselves, I was there EVERY day sitting with her, I just never saw the back of her head with all the vent stuff and tubes strapped to her.
Oh trust me those that cover their hair are usually pretty and well taken care off. This must have been an extreme case like due to an illness or the hair type mixed with lack of will to deal with it.
I'm surprised she allowed you to film something that's so sacred to their culture and religion. Literally the sweetest client ever for allowing something so sacred to be filmed. You really helped her out.
I think it was out of trust knowing that she doesn't show their faces, while also giving a heads up to other mothers of girls who wear Hijabs that there is someone respectful that can help if this should ever happen to them.
Also, not every person is like that. Like in different religions too not every follower believes or follows 100% of the teachings or “rules” and also not 100% of the time. My friend wears hers some days and not others. She likes to participate in her family’s culture but it’s not all of who she is all the time if that makes sense.
Some Muslims wear hijabs and some don't. It's usually a personal preference if you live in a country that doesn't have strict religious laws. Sorry had to edit and say it is strict religious laws but more oppressive laws to keep women in check. If you look at pictures of how women dressed in Iran before the revolution, it's a drastic contrast to today.
I'm so glad that the parents prioritize her. Not only did they make sure that her education was still a priority, But they didn't did not deny her your help just cause of the filming. I'm also glad you had a nice space to work in. I hope she feels special and empowered now
I've never met a hairstylist more culturally accepting. You got her her own private suite to make sure she felt comfortable as well as having a spot for her mom to pray kudos
@user-jy4ef4ju2w correct, that is how her UA-cam channel works. Generally, people record videos and or 'stitch' together photos and put audio on top to upload to the platform, in case you weren't sure what the platform is about... Anyway, so happy this girl's parents saw this channel, know how it works, and reached out for assistance. She does lovely work and this is awesome.
Every time you freed a lock of hair from the matted area, it was wonderful to see a healthy curl bounce up. This young lady has beautiful long hair, and I'm glad you were able to help her save it ❤
Yes, covering one’s hair creates different stresses on the scalp and the hair itself. The weight of the covering, while protecting the hair from uv damage for example, can even create pressure thinned spots. At her age, (when girls begin to take more personal responsibility) mats like this can happen really fast, especially when the hair is hidden. Those head shakes and mom’s hug at the end said it all ❤️ I wish there were more videos addressing hair and scalp health for hijabis and tichel wearers. Thanks for doing this…and I love the floral face shield to protect her modesty. 😊❤
I am a muslim and wearing hijab ,i assure the things you mintioned that it can happen to scalp and hair while wearing hijab ..it does not happen , actually in our country with hot climate and dusty it is even more protective ,and we wear hijab when we are going outside only but at home we do not ..,and the cotton fabric is helping the scalp to breath ..like some who wear a cap or a hat ....
@@NOTHI450 - Hi, thanks for your comment. Perhaps the texture of the hair itself makes a difference. My hair is fairly fine and wavy and tends to be naturally thin. Perhaps it is also my age, the decades of covering or from the way my scarf is tied or from the band of my cap, but I have some areas that a dermatologist said were from wearing my head coverings. I tend to leave them off now when I’m at home or in private settings. - It does seem to help a little.
Floral face shield is so that a child isn't exploited by creeps who never let kids have privacy and try to make viral dollars off content they didn't create. Hijab provides the modesty.
@@NOTHI450cotton literally wicks away & absorbs healthy moisture and oils from the hair & scalp + it's far more abrasive to the hair shaft itself. Satin pillowcases, bonnets, scarves are gentle, less damaging and SILK IS BEST to protect hair.
So kind of her parents to fly you out to do this. I did this for a friend who had been sick in bed... that was before we had to internet to learn from real pros like you.
your channel has helped me so much. my hair used to be so matted, literally my whole head and my mum and sister had been trying to sort it out for years but as soon as we tried we always had something going on. in october 2022 my sister cut around the knots (i still have a whole head of hair somehow, no bald spots or anything) and we obviously brushed it out and used so so many different products and different types of brushes and then i finally had my hair back! my head is so much lighter and i used to not even realise how much it made my head hurt, and i feel so much happier now. i started watching your channel because i was trying to do it myself and it gave me the motivation to finally do something about it. thank you.
Bless you and your Mama and Sister.... Blest you had loving ladies in your life too help you, rather than tell you just go cut it or shave it off and start fresh. We women have an identity with our hair, and I know we probably shouldn't, but we do lol. I want to give you a big hug bc I am happy you said you feel free 😭 It made my heart feel joy 💖
❤❤❤ You’re free!! I’m where your mom and sis were . My daughters have big matted knots and this angel of hair here is the solution I have truly found to help us from afar. God Bless💓🫶🏽
I wish there had been someone like you around when I was a child in the late 60’s. My mid-thigh length hair would get so snarled and tangled because I hated the feeling of a brush going through my hair. Or worse, a fine-toothed comb. My mom and sisters would spend HOURS working through the matted mess and fussing at me. I didn’t get it cut until I was 11, almost 12. Little me would have ADORED you! Thank you for being there for the ones who need you!
Hi! I just watched Brad Mondo reacting to some of your past videos and came to check out your channel. You treat your clients with so much love and respect, letting them air any demons while you work your magic. You gained a new subscriber! 💗🇦🇺
At 2:00 I just started nodding along. You are sooooooooooooo right. I was fortunate enough to leave an employer that left me drained, stressed, and demotivated for years. Now I'm sitting here, listening to you on UA-cam while I make lunch and get ready to work on my next chunk of work for the day. Being able to do a job that doesn't drain me constantly has changed my life and my family's life. It's a crazy job and there's sacrifices to it, but I DO NOT take it for granted.
Wow, what beautiful hair she has! So glad she chose to reach out to you to free it again! Edit: I'm laughing listening to your rant about these armchair experts giving you grief! Girl, you know some people lack any talent of their own and gotta try and drag others down to feel better! Don't even let them stress ya.
Haters gonna hate. We rise above that mess. I don't see any one of them helping folks on video with such a personal problem. My hair got matted so bad twice in my life. Thank God I had a friend willing to help without JUDGEMENT. We laughed and cried but, having a sweet friend who helped me with something I could not do for myself was such a gift. My hair is super fine but I have a lot of it. If I don't get it trimmed on a regular basis, one split end could cause a super knot. God bless you and your work. You're a gift!🎉❤🎉
Just discovered your channel. I had no clue how many people had such difficult times with their hair. Of course who would know what is under their hair covering. So good there are people willing to help people with this issue.
I followed you awhile back bc you just seem so sweet and gentle with your clients. The commentary in this vid gave a new sassy perspective and it’s only increased my respect for you! I **know** your clients love you, and I’m sure you’ll be in their memories for a looooong time ♥️ thank you for doing what you do
oh goodness 🥺 I’m so happy you do what you do and accommodated her and met her and her family where they’re at. I’m a physically and mentally disabled muslimah with somewhat long 4a hair that gets matted together very often because i wear the niqab I can’t always maintain it on my own and i can’t get it done anywhere in my city. your channel has touched me so deeply, you’re truly healing people’s spirit along with their hair.
For all the haters, i am white with straight and wacy hair. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital and ended up needing gallbladder surgery. Within the time i was in hospital my hair became just as matted. Between epic pain and depression things and life truly does happen. Please be kind people
you got some beautiful results for this young lady. When you were flat ironing your client's hair, from the hair you had clipped out of the way, you can tell her hair tangles really easily. Do you have any advice on how to prevent severe tangling? To the people who watch 3 UA-cam videos and now think they are an expert. Hadassa, "sit down, don't touch nothing, don't say nothing, and just watch"...and learn🤣 That's right Hadassa, tell them
What works for me is doing everything in twists. While you wash, condition, detangle. Especially while washing because that is when your hair can really get tangled while you're scrubbing. My hair still tangles, but it's better and easier to handle.
As a hairdresser apprentice who’s assisted with keratin treatments i 100% agree with you. Definitely not too much heat. Her hair looks amazing, you did such a good job!!!❤ (I also love detangling hair 😊)
Love how you gave this young lady her hair/confidence back, and also enjoyed seeing your travels, hotel ratings, & slice of life snippets! Just found your page, you are amazing!
I know nothing of hair, but your videos are so amazing. I'm sure these folks are so grateful and for you to go and visit them too! You really are an angel. Even so much as to go out of your way to hide who they are with so much respect.
She looks beautiful! I love how you care for your clients! I find your videos so calming and uplifting at the same time. Crazy how some people leave know it all comments when they actually know nothing. You never let it dull your shine, tho! 💜
Commenting for the algorithm. I just stumbled onto your channel and it's so soothing to watch. Love to see you changing peoples lives in such a fulfilling way with patience and kindness. 💜🙏
I love your personality and what you do! My hair is **THICK** and I had so much problems keeping it detangled when I was younger. I would have loved someone like you to help me and teach me about my hair. Now that I'm old I just get it thinned multiple times a year and keep it short because I'm too tired to deal with it lol. Don't let nobody keep you down! ❤❤
Her curls are so beautiful! I guess it was easier to cut it when it was straight, but I would have liked to see how her hair looks with the curls now that it’s detangled and more healthy.
So happy that the parents prioritized their child & trusted you and your talents, that you respected and accommodated their beliefs, and that you were able to restore HER BEAUTIFUL HAIR!!!🙏Blessings!♥
Man you do such an incredible job on ppls hair. I love watching you work and I think I’d love to learn those skills. It’s just not possible right now. Also it took me a minute to track your videos down lol I had seen one probably a year ago. Then someone else’s video popped up and I watched it and it wasn’t you. So I went on the hunt and finally found your video’s. I love what a difference you make to the persons life. It’s not just the hair that you impact but the body, mind and soul of someone. Keep making the world a little brighter.
This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. You are a natural healer, I totally get untangling things is way better than braids!! and girl you can sing you just need coaching 😂❤
You are amazing. All the travel and the end results for this 13 year old to have her hair back is wonderful. With all the people who are critical of everyone she is lucky you were willing to travel and help her. I think my Mom would have cut it all off, LOL. Have a Blessed day.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful. I bet she feels so much better now. So nice of you to travel all that way to help this young girl out. Your kindness will never be forgotten 💖
This is an amazing transformation:) thank you for all you do! And when you said you ppl just be comin for me no hair experience think you’re an expert because you watched 3 youtube video sit down somewhere took me outtt 😂 so so so so so true
You are such a gem. The world needs more caring souls and gentle hands like you. I always find your videos so inspiring and refreshing due to how much you help boost others’ confidence while sharing their journey in the most respectful manner. Edit: Her hair is beautiful and so curly. Love that you were able to help her save it.
I guessed it was Minnesota right away 😆 I'm from here lol but I'm so glad you could help her out and Somali girls that i know have beautiful hair omg like truly
You did a beautiful job! Her hair is lovely and I’m sure her parents are thrilled. I hope you taught her some strategies to keep her hair healthy even when she’s wearing her hijab. Aren’t you glad you came to Minnesota in late March/April? What you saw in the Cub parking lot was the remnants of 90+ inches of snow. (We got so much stinkin’ snow this year! Believe me, we were so over snow by Easter and we still got more.)
Yes! We have snow up in by the Great Lakes! It's wretched, isn't it?! Her hair turned out beautifully! And it's so thick! Sometimes teens don't know how to ask for help. I'm so glad you were able to help and impart your magical wisdom on.
I am so glad you were able to help that little girl!! Ages 11-14 are the most hormonal, stressful and depressing years of any young woman’s life! So to give her back her confidence and beautiful hair is going to make such an impact in her life moving forward. And don’t worry about those negative nancy’s out here!!
I just wanted to say thank you for what you do. I have had to have my head basically shaved due to matting. I was addicted to drugs and not well mentally. My hair was probably waist length at the time. All matted into a bun. I HATED the short hair after getting it cut off. I literally wore a beanie or hat for almost 2 years. I’ve been clean off drugs for 6 years now and I’m starting cosmetology in January! 😊 I hope one day I can help someone the way you help your clients. ❤
We stayed at an Element and it was stunning! So clean and modern, but with expensive pieces. The pool and the complimentary beer and wine was a hit too
When you said she is 13 that explained it all. Kids can do funny things, my daughter used to HATE brushing her hair so much, and it would get so tangled she would cry. For sure if there was some way she could have covered her hair this would have happened!
Both Marshmallow Root and Slippery Elm can be obtained for pennies from an herb shop. Get instructions from them on how to prepare them as a tisane. Once prepared, store under refrigeration. Dip tangled hair in the thick liquid, then begin to gently work out the snarls, tangles, and matting with relative ease. Wash well afterwards. Deep condition. And please, put in a simple braid before going to bed to prevent re-matting. Take precautions when going into the wind by braiding and covering with actual real silk. . . not Chinese Silk as it is actually polyester!
YES! So glad you said that about the heat. We use to get the scalp oiled first and then blow dried. People have no idea. Her hair went through a lot, it can handle the heat.
Amazing work! l loved your explanations of why and what you enjoy doing. Also your voice over was much authentic and soothing than most of the others on UA-cam.. Thank you for sharing, l will subscribe!!
that parking lot..... with all the snow? That's my Target. And my Cub Foods. And my Chic-Fil-A. And my Walgreens. And if you kept panning, there was a Wendy's and a Cole's Salon. That's wild. So trippy to see my home (literally 2 minutes from my house) in a video 😅😅 You drove on literally my favorite bridge (ik it sounds weird 😅) with the big metal arches. We (my family) call that the ghost bridge cuz someone had graffitied the word "ghost" on there and we saw it every Sunday and Wednesday on our way to and from church. This is so weird 😅😅

Talk therapy and this- exactly what the Lord ordered 🙏

Her curls are so beautiful! I guess it was easier to cut it when it was straight, but I would have liked to see how her hair looks with the curls now that it’s detangled and more healthy.
Orchids are my absolute favorite plants! My grandfather had a greenhouse that he grew them in and it’s such a fond memory of my childhood!!!
I wonder what fabric her hijabs are made of. Maybe changing the material will help prevent friction from matting it up.
its chiffron
Only 13 🥺. I love how urgent her parents were about helping their baby.
This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. You are a natural healer, I totally get untangling things is way better than braids!! and girl you can sing you just need coaching 😂❤
@11:40 👏👏👏👏👏😳😳😳 She has had it with your unsolicited advice yall lol
You are amazing. All the travel and the end results for this 13 year old to have her hair back is wonderful. With all the people who are critical of everyone she is lucky you were willing to travel and help her. I think my Mom would have cut it all off, LOL. Have a Blessed day.
I love that you get to give life back to people’s hair, but also happiness to people. I love what you do.
Needed to comment again,
She has stunning hair! I'm so glad you were able to help her!
Her hair is so STUNNING. I love seeing the time and care you put into saving it for her.
You havre left a positive impact on that young girl, beautiful.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful. I bet she feels so much better now. So nice of you to travel all that way to help this young girl out. Your kindness will never be forgotten 💖
The hair is just a symptom of larger issues in people's lives. Saving the hair, instead of cutting it off, is part of reclaiming life.
GORGEOUS! I'm cracking up at seeing all the love and patience in your hands whilst listening to you giving sass to the dumdums out there 😂
This is an amazing transformation:) thank you for all you do! And when you said you ppl just be comin for me no hair experience think you’re an expert because you watched 3 youtube video sit down somewhere took me outtt 😂 so so so so so true
Wow! Her hair is beautiful! Thanks to you and everyone involved in giving her this reboot! 💚🖤💚
So happy you got to help her! She's beautiful
I guessed it was Minnesota right away 😆 I'm from here lol but I'm so glad you could help her out and Somali girls that i know have beautiful hair omg like truly
You are a beautiful human, thanks for all the love you share.
She has such beautiful hair 😊❤
I'm watching Beauty and the Beast too. I'm glad I found your videos.
Such an amazing transformation!
Beautiful!!! It's wonderful that her parents called and flew you in! Your work is a very patient gift❤
What beautiful curls! I love watching you take such good care of your client with kindness.
Lovely work! You are so dedicated!🎉
Thank you for doing what you do 💜💜💜 I can only dream of making such a positive impact with my career.
As always, amazing work! How would you recommend someone that keeps their hair covered care for it so it doesn’t mat up?
ASMR vibes loving it..very therapeutic to watch
Beautiful hair! You are an Angel❤️ thank you
The skill and execution was really impressive, but it's the commentary sass that made me hit the subscribe button 😄
I watched you patiently work with this young lady. Each of us has a gift and this is yours. Bless you and your hands, head, and heart.
I love what you do for people. Your videos are inspirational and touching - thank you
I bet her hair looks great when curly now 😊
We stayed at an Element and it was stunning!
You are simply amazing💖 You gave this young girl such a beautiful gift.
I bet she felt amazing to finally get her hair restored to such a wonderful glory! This is a great thing that you do for your clients.
Her hair looks wonderful after.
What a beautiful transformation. Such shiny, glorious hair. Love this.
Well done! Fabulous job!!! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
"If i could sing, yall would be sick of me" 😂 Same sis. Same.
Her hair turned out beautiful. You did excellent work!
I got teary seeing you wash her hair. The relief you were able to give her.
that parking lot..... with all the snow? That's my Target. And my Cub Foods. And my Chic-Fil-A. And my Walgreens. And if you kept panning, there was a Wendy's and a Cole's Salon. That's wild. So trippy to see my home (literally 2 minutes from my house) in a video 😅😅
You drove on literally my favorite bridge (ik it sounds weird 😅) with the big metal arches. We (my family) call that the ghost bridge cuz someone had graffitied the word "ghost" on there and we saw it every Sunday and Wednesday on our way to and from church. This is so weird 😅😅
I can see she's smiling when hugging you. This is such a wonderful moment
UA-cam suggested one of your video, and no regrets at all.
You’re doing an amazing job !
Wish you all the best !
"Sit down and don't touch." I love it. You do beautiful work.
You are doing such important work, with such compassion and generosity. I hope it all comes back to you, tenfold!
