The laser emitters are behind the glass, and it's not clear whether they can be angled or not. Besides, the RQ has other defenses like the fire suppression system if the lasers fail.

That technology was rare as no one knows about that while they were watching the laser first time that's why they can't use that thing because they don't have enough knowledge their self.

Nope. Best one was the 2nd one. This one doesn't even feel like Resident Evil, just some random zombies movie.
I like that when they return to this place later in the film it’s practically clean. Like the zombies got in a thought “Oh a buffet!”

I watched a video about this movie and the scene when they come back and the bodies are gone is to make a reference in the old Resident Evil games when you killed a room with enemies and you came back they were gone, that scene with the missing bodies was reference to the bodies disappearing after you reentered the room.

Every time I watch this movie I'm always hoping for a different outcome where the captain survives! Easily the best scene & best Resident Evil movie out of them all. He plays such a good solider in every movie he's in. I don't know his name but he's underrated af. Should really get a leading role. The American accent he puts on sounds good too. He seems to always die as some sort of soldier/captain lol. He dies in Alien vs Predator too.
Colin Salmon
Alien vs Predator and Resident Evil were both directed by the same director Paul WS Anderson, and both these films were made around the same time. Maybe that's why they both have similar plot where captain dies and the city blows up with a nuke in the second films of both franchises.
Colin was also in the Angel has Fallen with Gerard Butler. He played a high ranking police officer. Only has a few screen time total, probably all up in the entire movie like 5 or 7 minutes and he survives and shares no screen time with the main character.

Had the same “oh shit” reaction and just accepted that I was going to die. Trust me, it’s a very human reaction to just freeze up when you feel sudden hopelessness.

This scene has had everyone saying 2 things:
1. This was the best/most memorable part of the movie
2. Too bad he didn't take a couple of steps back
This scene was so good that all following RE films tried to reference it in one way or another.
The Red Queen understood when tech guy opened his big ass mouth explaining how the device they were carrying in would shut her down. Had he just ignored Alice's question that might've helped immensely.

The automated defense mechanism only triggers when you’ve already walked through the corridor and have already opened the door.
Also if you could make a chessboard lasers, why not do immediately.
It wanted you to have a chance. First one you just had to duck, second one either jump high infront or duck down later. Third one was just running toward it either jumping or getting down.
Because the AI was made by a gansta lucifer. Kinda like in the beginning of the movie with the elevator scene, playing with the person rather than going for the kill right away.

20 years later I notice the dude in charge went back into the kill room instead of staying in position by the red queen.
There might've been an override on the doorway. He might've been able to damage the red queen somehow.
The lasers were originating within the glass corridor he would have been safe from them even with that door closing on them. He just had to be next to the frame.

It occurs to me that the Red Queen had the near perfect zombie disposal facility in it's control. All it had to do was lead zombies in from one end, trap a few of them at a time, run the laser net through them, get the swat team to come in from the other end and clear out the detritus, then shut that end, rinse and repeat.
This was my first exposure to Hollywood movie absolutely loved it.
This scene has never made sense to me. If the hallway has an inescapable laser grid, why would you even bother with the single lasers?

What I've always wondered is just why they didn't simply shoot the walls where the laser was coming from? Sure, the shots may have bounced around, but it would at least show they're trying to avoid getting sliced and diced.

At my mothers house, my old room back from when i was a kid is the same as when i left it 15 years ago, and i still have the resident evil 1 Movie poster up on my wall which i got from the Blockbusters when i was a kid, along with pirates of the Caribbean and many other things.

These resident evils were an still are the best
I remember watching this movie and always commenting how had they just hugged the end or perhaps shot at the glass or something they'd of been able to distort the laser. like instead they try to avoid it instead of trying to see where it starts and hoping to be far enough ahead that it can't touch them. Like it looks like at the end off the hallway near where he places the cell phone there's a gap large enough for you to just hug the wall and the laser literally can't reach you. And again with all the glass onto the sides it's interesting that they don't hug the wall. I know it's a movie so ofc a lot of logic is ignored and instead they just try to dodge it which definitely doesn't seem like the smartest move.
Always thinks now about that why he didn't move back - it would save his life.

So I typed in "Resident Evil Hunk" and got this.
Then I randomly thought, _"Wouldn't it suck if Hunk was one of the guys that got killed in this scene? What if he was that girl (in the thumbnail)?"_
This scene alone was better than all the sequels. And not one zombie in sight.
Not to nitpick, but if I was the guy who created that defence laser, I would just start with the grid formation. One sweep and done. Save on some of that expensive laser money.
