- I am Dyeing My Hair at home using REVLON Colorsilk Ash Blonde #60. This is not a serious tutorial - It is just how I use Revlon Colorsilk Dark Ash Blonde and how it turns out even though I basically just splash it around!!
I never say never but the hair salon is not for me. This video is a fun look at my alternative. For years I believed that if you colored your own hair that something could go terribly wrong. After watching a tutorial on UA-cam I figured I could do it myself. I am so bad at doing it and this is not a tutorial but it works out just fine.. So this is a good before and after and shows how even the worst effort can provide a great result. I use Revlon Colorsilk Dark Ash Blonde..Number 60.. I love it. It works good enough for me... But then as I explain, I am not that fussy... with hair! Join me for some fun!

I watched your medium ash video and I like this dark ash on you better I think. Both look great. My skin tone is different than yours. Light blonde looks better on me, but damages my hair too much. A long time ago I used the REVLON medium blonde tones and after a while my hair became healthy again. Unfortunately, I went back to the lighter tones (done by professionals) and now my hair looks like straw again. Going back to using Revlon Medium ash I think for my skin tone. Save some money doing it myself and hopefully get healthy hair again.

Hi Michelle! Your hair is gorgeous and you're beautiful inside and out. I love how your hair turned out. You made it look so easy, but for me it's not, lol. Well when I used to dye my own hair, I'd use henna instead and commit at least 4 hours and it was so messy! But I think I'm starting to see some grey hair and will definitely look into dying it, possibly with Revlon. Thanks Michelle for a great video! 😊💚💚💚

I also use #60 Colorsilk on my waist length hair and my hair texture is the same as yours, but I only color the roots each time. I've done it this way for at least 10 years with no problem. I also wait one week and one washing before doing additional Clairol highlights over it. Love my results! Btw, box color *always* comes out darker than the shade depicted on the box.
I would love to throw in some highlights - I have them but have been nervous to do so!

I never went to a salon.. but stopped colouring now, I go too old for the very light blond 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and something else is not worth it, then I prefer my own colour, luckily I'm not getting gray😀😀😀😀😀 your hair is absolutely beautiful no matter the colour ❤❤❤❤❤ full watch as always 👍👍👍👍👍

Bing it awesome job coloring your hair I knew you could do it do you look so pretty once it was all done thank you so much for sharing that I always do my own coloring of my own hair even when I could’ve went to a hairdresser why is that because I had one of my hairdresser actually burn my hair to pieces leaving on too long never letting that happen again I’d rather not have a great job done and still have hair on my head. And you have such long hair I can only imagine how long it takes you to get your hair colored my hair is reasonably short it’s shoulderlength. I also use the Revlon dark ash blonde but I mix it with light ash brown and I end up with a light to medium Auburn which is close to my natural color. It took some time and experimenting to figure this out. I’m not trying to get the red tones but I cannot avoid them because red hair runs in my family and I was a strawberry blonde child and my hair only went ash blonde in the summer when it got bleached out by the sun. Since I don’t want to lighten my hair much what I actually do is dilute the developer which is 20 volume that comes in the box. So I use half of the developer that comes in the box and I throw the other half away and then I use the same amount of conditioner and it’s usually white conditioner. I make sure the ounces are correct and do my math! Lowering the standard 20 volume that comes in the box brings me down to a 10 volume and that just lightens your hair one shade. Because I colored my hair darker in the past and I’m not ready for a bleach bath since my curly hair gets really fragile, I’ve decided to deal with my light to medium Auburn because it’s going gray anyway so eventually I’ll just have it professionally bleached and they can use some thing protective like olaplex To keep it from breaking. I am 43 and I am about 30% gray so I might get some highlights this summer And then slowly get more highlights and cut my hair shorter gradually and try to go blonde over the next three years very gradually so I don’t damage my curls. Those of you with straight hair are lucky because you can actually comb your hair when you Are going to dye it. I wish I could get my hair that light without bleach but I have way too much red so it will come out yellow orange! Years ago I used straight Revlon dark ash blonde and I got strawberry blonde and that’s not what I wanted so I panicked and ruined it more and it took some time to recover and I’ve decided to be happy with the mix I now use. By the way I love Revlon and I have heard that it is as good as some salon quality color possibly because it does not have ammonia. My hair is pretty healthy and I color my roots and then pull it through after 15 minutes and leave it on for 10 more minutes even though the box doesn’t say that. It works for me. I don’t mind playing chemist and since I’ve come up with this concoction I’ve been quite happy with the results but I can’t wait to go blonde!
I did this for years but now have gone back to the hairdressers.. I didn't think to mix the colours - I like you have the red hair in my family - with both red and auburn tones.. Thanks for sharing - this information will help many :)

It doesn't lighten alot - I feel it just tones and gives one solid colour.. Maybe slightly lighter

If my hair is a shade or two darker than yours, definitely orangey tones in it, especially the roots, should I get a light or medium ash blonde, instead of dark ash blonde? Because I don't want my hair too dark...just like a medium brown! Medium ash brown...
I found this one the best to keep away the orange tones..
