I not only have audio anxiety I have video anxiety which means I’m not only scared of revealing my voice I’m scared of revealing my face. Not just to strangers, even my friends.
I really hate that introvert has become synonymous with being shy. Introverted ppl aren’t always shy and I’ve met plenty of ppl that are extroverted but are very shy (which must be torture for them). I’m a huge introvert but if ppl talk to me I can easily hold a conversation and go out partying with friends. I just choose to be by myself a lot of the time bc it takes so much energy for me to be out and about with ppl especially going things I don’t feel like doing. Johnny Carson was a huge introvert and he was the host of the Tonight Show.

The way to tell if you're an introvert and not just shy. If you can stay at home by yourself on the weekend and feel refreshed without being antsy about wanting to go out, you're an introvert. If you get freaked out about social interaction and actively avoid people because of anxiety, that's not an introvert, that's shyness or social anxiety. Totally different

Nah. Let's be honest. We're totally shy, too. Except in this beautiful form of communication that is text. We can do this, and talk with a few close friends. Anything beyond that entails debilitating anxiety. Maybe I'm projecting, but that's how I experience introversion. It's not so bad, though. As you said, we do like being alone.

Not all introverts are anxious. They have the innate strength to stay alone. They don't desperately seek attention or approval of others. They are comfortable in their own company. And they definitely aren't over thinkers and unhappy people. Their biggest asset is their individuality & intelligence.

I'm an introvert but my conversational skills are fairly good. I usually open up and talk more around people I will never meet again because that way they won't expect me to keep up that same energy in the future.
I'm a social introvert (there are four types) and while I dred small talk, I have really good conversational skills. In fact when people see me in small groups they always doubt that I am introverted. But being an introvert does not equate to shyness or social anxiety

Being an introvert and hearing people talk behind my back about how "rude" I am hurts. My being introvert is one thing but I am extremely timid and shy and it comes off as rude to some people 😞

None of my friends answer they always have the excuse I don't know how to text which is weird cuz I have absolutely no problem doing so and it's crazy how many times I've hung up in the middle of the phone ringing because I had a feeling I had been calling too much

Not all introverts are anxious. They have the innate strength to stay alone. They don't desperately seek attention or approval of others. They are comfortable in their own company. And they definitely aren't over thinkers and unhappy people.
Their biggest asset is their individuality & intelligence.
