    Between lassen and burney falls it’s so exposed and dry. Perfect for sun burns. Burney falls is amazing. I’m glad it’s on the PCT cuz everyone on trail that makes it that far should be rewarded with that kind of beauty

    Discovered this channel about a month ago and have enjoyed its content. My brother is on trail as well, but currently at Tehachapi. This gives my family and I a look into what he’s experiencing. Looking forward to the day I get on trail.

    In hot dry weather, I hike until 11 am and then stop and unpack until 3 PM before I start up again when it's cooler. I use the midday four hours as a siesta time.

    When you guys get to the Marbles, try to stopover for the night at Man Eaten Lake. It lies 600 feet below the PCT. You descend a scree slope affectionately called "The Ladder" to make the descent off the PCT to the lake. It is 116 feet deep. Taylor Lake is very easy to get to also in the Russians. You just drop down off the PCT and you are there.

    Loving the videos. So sad that your body is rebelling against the miles and heat, as well as the diet. Take care and feel better. 🙏✌👊

    It's good to see people walking, most people don't walk 2 miles a day and that's crazy to think about

    Subway cave is an old lava tube. If you are in the area, and like caves you should check out Lava Beds National Monument. It's out in the middle of no where, but really cool to explore.

    You still my back country sweet heart. I’m glad you two are doing good. One complaint I donated a lot of money to support the trails. I was saving that money for you and the trail hubby. It was a pretty nice substantial amount. I pictured a dinner for two and maybe some tequilas or some dark barreled brew. But your making hiking fun. Plus going in areas I never got the chance to see. You have been my eyes and spirit for me. Paydays coming up will try give some more. Just in small amounts. I’m sorry…Please forgive me? Oh going up is easy until you find flat areas again. It’s going down hill that hurts the most. Luckily you never had to do that together. Try it with a 50 cal tripod and 46 pounds of gear. Knees ached for a week. MUCH LOVE for the two of you!!!!!

    Hey guys, heads up. Went to Walmart and all the butane mix and propane canisters are out of stock. Only online and they're now $25 each plus $10 shipping for the large butane mix and the one pound propane. Glad I brought my Trangia for backup, can always get rubbing alcohol or Bacardi 151.

    I know the owner of JJ's Cafe next to the station you stopped at in Old Station. I was going to try and hook you up. But with the difference in your actual location and when the videos get posted I didn't get to you in time.
    Plus, I guess she has had some challenges this year finding people to work. So she is only open Thursday through Sunday.
    Safe travels

    I had awful heart burn and gurt and was rushed to ER I don't know how many times. After research I discovered Melatonin to completely take it away. Completely. I haven't had an episode in a year. One tablet a night

    I suffer from GERD too and have been wondering how I might fare if I were to have to live off all of that trail food. I don't know that I could. So much salt and fat in all that freeze dried, or instant stuff. I can't imagine having to take Omeprazole for several months. Yuck! It's not practical for the trail, but I have found that apple cider vinegar helps with mine. Hope you feel better. Thanks for all the great videos. :-)

  • @Rab1dllama
    @Rab1dllama 2 роки тому

    Fortunately I’ve never had GERD problems with hiker food. But then again, I’m just a weekender, so I’m not living on it for months at a time 😊
    Don’t know what’s up, but I turned my volume up like 10 notches higher than usual and still had a hard time hearing this one.
