Amen. my dad wasn't really a farmer, but did own an apple orchard and worked upto 5 acres of produce for a few years. neighbors farmed and I got alot of experience around equipment. rebuilt my 1st sbc at 18 and did many brake jobs before I was 20

Seeing your dad on his JD takes me back to my aunt and uncle's farm in the 50's and 60's. I learned to operate his 52 Model B John Deere at age 8, spending summers with him mowing, bailing, and putting up hay. He would let me drive the tractor to do custom bailng for his neighbors and brother. I was sitting high and mighty on that old JD.

You got that shit right! About 14 years ago, I was restoring a 93 sonoma for my son.. little stock TBI 350 5 speed.. just a daily driver. He was 8 at the time..I had him come out side to help me bleed the clutch..100* day down in Florida, he said..
" Dad, I'm just not into.cars rigjt now, maybe qhen I get older " I come out from under that truck and looked at him.. he was sweating bullets...I said ok son.. go back inside and play your game.. do you know he still is not into cars to this day! Not complaining at all.. actually kind of glad. He'll save himself a lot of money!!

I really enjoy seeing what goes into the dirt work. I'd love see more about how you do what you do. I really enjoy the channel. You and your family are the America I remember when I was kid. I'm turning 58 and it warms my heart to see how you all work and play together and spend time with each other. My family scattered to the 4 winds just a few years after I got out of high school. I was the only one who stayed in our home town. After 50 years there, I just moved 85 miles down the road. It's felt strange. See this channel gives me something to remember what it was like when I was growing up.

We sure do love the footage about the old home and family history. There's volumes to be said for being born and raised in the same place. Many, many of us are envious and wish we could have enjoyed a rais'n like that. Between Dad having been married and divorced 6 times, Mom married and divorced 4 times, me, my brother and sis being passed back and forth, back and forth more times than we care to remember, lived in more towns and attended more schools than we care to remember, watching your family stick together thru thick and thin is an inspiration and fun to see. Thank you 'ol Man, we appreciate that.

Prob worth a fortune to some museum but it's just what they have and they work it like a borrowed mule all day long. You can always hear it off in the distance when they load it down pop-pop-pop such a distinct noise. Next to a good ole 2 stroke Detroit its prob one of my favorite engines to hear running.

I know we as fathers want our children to follow the examples we've set but there's going to be times when they want to figure things out for themselves even though we know it's going to be a lot more problematic ya got to let them scrape their proverbial knees. Heck i'll take my son giving me these problems vs him knocking up girls, addicted to drugs involved with gangs or being a thief, this i can be patient and work with. God bless, i miss watching you guys break hearts and take people's money.

I am 44 Bill and we grew up eerily similar. I have to say I wouldn't change my upbringing for any amount of money, it made me who I am today. Like you I am a good father, hard working, honest, man.....who stays in Facebook jail. I would say that being bluntly honest and Facebook will never go together Bill?

I love Ohio between the months of May and October, lol. I grew up north of Columbus out in the country and wouldn't trade it for the world. I live in Florida now and have grown to love life here but my childhood was pretty good.
