The broken plastic piece in the shock is a broken shipping puck from when the vehicle was delivered. It keeps the front of the car raised for removal off the transporter to not scratch the bumper. Looks like the dealer who delivered the car might have not removed it. If the shipping puck was not removed and the car was driven at highway speeds, the spring could have been displaced from the correct position since the car was still raised on that one side. Once the shipping puck cracked and broke off from the impact of driving at highway speed, the spring settled into the incorrect position.
@@snikwadRR Sometimes the transport people are not gentle to the cars and the top spacers get jammed WAY up into the strut boot. When I did PDIs I'd do my best to remove them if they were stuck but some were just beyond retrieval without taking the strut apart, but that means they were also out of the way of suspension travel and it was benign to leave them where they lay.

Exactly and sometimes dealer forget to remove those plastic shims and after a while the shock itself compress them during driving until the plastic will brake apart. Nothing to worry about though but something good to know.

Bravo for not bending over for those outrageously priced grommets and bolts. This was not just a greedy dealer, but also the factory that is complicit with the dealers.
Margin for the dealer on those parts is not big. Dont’t call them greedy. I have seen stupid prices for bolts on an e34. I suspect BMW has pricing on those parts automated but the system runs wild.
@@Asserti As I said, not just the dealer. As we both said, the factory. Computer running wild? Doubt it. Part pricing and demand are tracked scrupiously.
you have a gift in spanish that is the best thing you speak and the mechanical skill and the knowledge and understanding about the BWM is a fact, I always follow you congratulations great miracles with those classics
Great video as always. The white thing you found inside the shock boot looks like the remainder of a transit stop used when the car is new from the factory to stop it bouncing about to much in transit. Really bad that the technician who did the pre delivery work left it behind.
That scraping old foam is probably the most painful unrewarding work know to man. They make a scraper with a razor blade that skims just above the surface of the paint and if you are careful it doesn't scratch the paint. The windscreen installation guys have them, just much larger ones but they also use a small one for quarter glass, that's the one you need. It makes light work of the bulk of the job.

24:24 Something is called "Poğaça" and that yogurt is called "Ayran" 😂I love it when these videos are super long.
I don't work on cars, neighter did I ever owned a BMW, I am just here every time, for the pure craftsmanship.
haha as a turkish follower of you its lovely to see you eating turkish bakery, hope you liked them
Bravo for not bending over for those outrageously priced grommets and bolts.
I just can't skip a single minute of your Video! Thanks a lot for this, what you doing for us!
you have a gift in spanish that is the best thing you speak and the mechanical skill and the knowledge and understanding about the BWM is a fact, I always follow you congratulations great miracles with those classics
Oh Sreten, That man at the end... 🤟😉
This vidéo length is like having two in a week... A Dream !
Thank you.
Had to turn the brightness down on the monitor to look at the vapor blasted covers! Fantastic video as usual. I can't hear any noise.
Great video as always. The white thing you found inside the shock boot looks like the remainder of a transit stop used when the car is new from the factory to stop it bouncing about to much in transit.
Really bad that the technician who did the pre delivery work left it behind.
Thanks for this lovely 1 hour video gift 🙏🏻💪🏻
Thank you for sharing your BMW passion with us. I would like to have a mechanic like you!
M6 S85 convertible must be a dream soundwise 🤤
Sadly the E63 M6 was assaulted by Chris Bangle.
@@emrefifty5281 no problem love the look. Just needs style 166M wheels.
Love this project and your work! Your camera work and editing is sooooo good and the way you are able to get great lighting in real tight spaces is really impressive!
Wow, I’ve never seen this aquablast machine before! The result of cleaning valve covers is mind blowing!!!
