Hi guyz! More building! Well, you're doing a great job. Mapleberry farm (MBF) is using screw piles for his foundation. Never saw that before. Timber is a gorgeous boy!❤ 🙂👍👍👍👍🌲🌲🌲
Holy COW WOW HOW NEAT!!!! LOLOL I just typed three ...three letter words with OW's in them HOW weird is that??? Boy Jen you are going to have to make that guy something SPECIAL for dinner in thanks huh??? At least the grounds not frozen yet LOL. You two are nuts and GREAT fun to watch and listen too. Jen when you squeaked the puppy toy's my golden retriever (Harley) was sleeping behind my office chair and he jumped straight up and came over to me to see if I was squeaking one of his baby's LOLOL too funny. Boy nobody messes with Harley's baby hahaha. You guys are soooooooooo awesome and I look forward to seeing your winter build. God's blessings to you all.
Have a bless weekend to u both happy to see you puttin in a bedroom and bath very happy can wait to see it been build myself 💙🙏🏼🎄🎁⛄❄again beautiful video 🇹🇹
Smart thinking, getting those posts in the ground & making the wife happy, lol! Glad the panels are accessible for clearing, I'm sure you'll come up with a way to make it even easier. Food looked delicious and Timber seemed to love his toys! Thanks for another fun video.
Nice dinner guys. I was blessed with 2 deer last weekend. A 8 pt buck and a fat doe. We try not to by beef until around June. We usually harvest 5 a year. And to top it off my wife’s cousin brought us 60 lbs of catfish. So needless to say we have a couple of freezers full this year. All I’ve been doing is processing meat this week. That bedroom add on will bring you more happiness with the extra space.
It is not understood why adding a bedroom and bath is not a normal plan when building cabins. Having an outhouse is not practical especially when one would freeze their a$$ during the winter. I am glad that you are doing this. Sleeping in the loft is for teenagers and not adults as they eventually get progressively old. Now is the time for building a first-floor bedroom and bath. Great plan and I am sure these will turn out excellent. Take Care guys and Happy Holidays (Whichever you celebrate) and Happy New Year 2022.
Thank you my friend......Ya we were considering a different main cabin layout at first where it would be less open with a tiny bedroom and a kitchen NOOK rather than the full layout we have now.....but I didn't want the cabin to be small and cramped s this was the final vote. lol Enjoy your Holidays as well
Good point about no ladders, I just ordered some panels for my off grid cabin. I was contemplating where to mount them. Angle and reach, great points! Thank you.
Hello , please Stand the solar panels up or put them at the same pitch as your roof . The bottom 2x4 has to go . Make Shure you have a grounding rod & lightning arrester installed . Good Luck . When will the deer head be mounted ? Merry Christmas thank you
Man, you guys are lucky to have soil soft enough for the auger. My cabin on the side of a little NH mountain is sitting on a million rocks! Good luck with the new project. Hope the weather holds out for you.
It is very lucky. good top soil then nothing but sand around here.....and most of northern Michigan, LOL. so soft even an ICE AUGER with the blades removed will do the job, giggle giggle
Now it makes more sense about why no live edge siding on that side of the house. Look at you becoming a professional carpenter. Love it all. Stay Safe!
My panels are sized and angled at 53 deg for winter in Kentucky. Still plenty of excess power in the summer and snow slides right off. We use 1600 kWh in the summer and 2500 in the winter.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen i was just thinking they provide a gentle heat that might solve the snow or icing problems but unsure if it's feasible or safe on solar panels
@@michealellenburg2701 totally agree....even if i had them fired up by the generator for 30 minutes and they melted off all the ice and snow still well worth the process.....it is a good idea. thank you
I'm laughing at this....LOL...you are smarter than myself.....come winter storms and many feet of snow....there I will be framing that bedroom together. giggle giggle
It's great that you got a start on the bedroom! You'll be able to frame up a bit when y'all have time! How big is it going to be? Food looked goooood!!! The wife looks happy, Timbers happy, how you holding out Jason? Oh yeah, how many volts coming in after you cleared the snow from solar panels?! Have a great weekend! 👍 🏠 👋 🐶 😉
Bedroom will be 11x12 feet. All good in the neighborhood my friend. The most I have seen out of the panels in this set up was 800 watts. Which I was very happy with. That day it only went up to 100 because some clouds rolled in.
Hi Jay & Jen, good work on starting the extension [bedroom]. Just a suggestion [and you may have thought of it already?] go to your local Swimming Pool Store [or Amazon, etc.] and get an extendible Aluminium Pool Skimmer pole for your rake, to clean the Solar Panels. Greetings from Perth, West. Australia, Frank.
When I lived in Maine I had a snow rake for my car. The end was a hard styrofoam and would not scratch. But it’s longer than a broom and should reach the top. I hope that helps. I agree that getting the poles in the ground is a timesaver in the spring. That dinner looked great!
Hi y’all I melted watching your video - the Timber King was presented with his soft, squeaky toys! Made my day y’all. Bless him. You guys are doing such an amazing job. Thanks for sharing your adventures with its us. Be well, stay safe and have fun. All the best, your friend in the UK and in a couple of weeks - back in New Orleans for Christmas

Deluxe for sure, LOL.....not sure of the elevation to be honest, have never looked into it. Most of Michigan has little elevation change I think....I'll look into it
A bedroom on the bottom level would be best. #1 I won’t climb ladders #2 won’t climb down ladders. #3 I would fall off the loft in my sleep 🤣😂😆🤣😂😆 oooO I guess that’s not funny. It would be like the ladder roof incident. 🤔 Enjoy !! 😊
Excited for the build in spring, would it be beneficial for you to put insulation in the solar battery shed just in winter and then remove it in spring?
You need a windshield wiper to just switch on and sweep the panels clear ! Shouldn't be hard to make , 10' wiper swipes down and back up with a 12 volt motor.
I have the same problem with my solar panels. I wonder if it would be better to temporarily put the panels at a steeper angle so they shed snow. At least if you’re shedding the snow off the panels you would still be getting somewhat of a charge. Any thoughts on this? In the summer months you could always return them to the proper angle.
Lol not even done with the current cabin and alreaty needing to make it bigger. That's the number 1 cabin mistake I think, building to small. I bet that sleeping loft is hot as hell.
LOL, ya it is. We had never built anything before so I was not sure how things would turn out. But at this point adding a bedroom should be a piece of cake....fingers crossed
