This is a FAR BETTER explanation of how to use this than Yakgear's own video. They don't explain at all that you need a second cleat to tie your anchor line to. Nice work!
Well done video...! I used that same "method" on my Titan, with the exception of using Tri-Grip Rivets for the cleat and pad eyes (MUCH stronger than any sheet metal screws. Which... by the way... pulled out after just a few "encounters" with high winds while being anchored...!)
Nice Video! I used two carabiners to clip in to each side of the triangle, that way I can unclip and send the trolly to each end if I ever needed a tow rope.
On my kit the 6 screws for the zigzag cleat and the 2 pad eyes came with 6 little black rubber hollow things that look like a black Tylenol capsule with one end cut off. Any idea what those are for? They aren't even in the parts list in the instructions.
It is the YakGear Deluxe Anchor Trolley Syetem, and the rope/rope holder is Field and Stream brand, but YakGear and many other companies also make a similar product
@@jasonbourgeois8363 Right on! Beautiful area down that way. I recently drove through on my way to Cape San Blas, but PCB looked awesome too. I hopefully will make it out that way again soon!
Great video n instruction on the installation. Was looking at the Yak Attack Sidewinder for the line management though for my Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 because of the track mount option. Which trolley system do you like better or are they about the same as far as the purpose they serve? Again, great instruction on the install...seems pretty straightforward.
Thank you for getting back to me. The set up that you have I don’t mean to be rude but it is not a quick release anchor system. If you are anchored and you need to get away from your anchor because you’ve just been waked by a much bigger boat you need to detach from the anchor now. It is much more difficult if you are still attached to the anchor. Check out UA-cam ask for quick release anchor trolley systems. Otherwise good job with the video it was well-made.
Anchor trolley is a must have. I called Old Town and was told by the Customer service rep that I spoke with that drilling into the hull to install the anchor trolley voids the hull warranty. I’m still looking at getting the Bigwater Pdl though. Looking at it, I don’t believe doing a no drill anchor trolley would be hard to do at all.
@@77ping_ Interesting. I have an Old Town PDL but I don’t have any anchor points. It seems that they give you a base model to upgrade immediately, but doing so voids all warranties.
I like the rig, easy peasy and convenient, but as an old salt, I would never trust an anchor on a carabiner. Maybe a high quality locking one in a stainless eye splice or a proper shackle.
No way to quick detach from the anchor? Sounds dangerous. 😬 Must not be fishing for big fish or on rivers. Aside from that, great video with the install! I gotta get some well nuts. Lol
I liked your video up to the point where you didn’t have a quick release for the anchor. You’ll need to look into a quick release system for the anchor. Then you should do a new video with the quick release for the anchor. The people watching your videos are counting on you to show them the right and wrong way to do things.

Thanks for this awesome in depth video! Far better than the rest I watched!

I'm getting ready to install this same system, thanks for the video presentation!
Sure thing, it works great!
man thanks so much for making this it helped me out so much thanks!

Did you post the products that you used? I would like to use the same system and that device that you rolled the anchor up onto.

Get a long nose marking pen. It’s a game changer when having to mark those holes where normal sharpies won’t fit.
Awesome Video. I’m enjoying what you are putting out. Where do you fish out of?
Thank you! I live and fish around Pensacola, FL. Sometimes I venture toward Destin, but most things I film I near Pensacola.
Good deal. I’ve got a place down in PCB.

Curious to lean more about a no drill anchor pulley system. What do you have in mind?
@@russellstringfellow1109 i imagine just using some sort of weight tied to a rope then use one of the anchor points on the boat itself and clip it.

So that’s what that thing is on the side of my kayak.
Yes pumpkin pies are nice to eat first time I ate it this year my church pastors wife made it love it😁 great video.

It's setup for quick release via the zigzag cleat. The only extra item needed would be a buoy.
When excess line is left on the spool, its not set up for quick release.
Bro quit it with the pie
