    I drive a m235i and hated the styling of the new G42 when it came out but now after seeing a couple in person it's really growing on me, the interior is fabulous too.

    I've had my 2022 M240i for 2 days now and I have to say, you're doing a lot of complaining on a lot of quality of life improvements made from the 2018. But I get it, no body likes change. The rear tail lights are definitely controversial but overall the new design and upgraded interior is significantly better. The 2022 will turn heads everywhere you go. These cars are hard to find right now, especially without a dealer markup. Change is going to happen embrace it.

    i also appreciate they took some chances on the 2022, made it more aggressive.. the 2018 looks like it could be a 2 door corolla or Subaru.. and frankly the engine in the 2022, is reason enough to choose it.. in my opinion .. but good video overall

      It's an easy pick on the looks of the old one by most, but the interior in the new one is a step up for sure! I get you like it better, but lots of people don't like it at all, and I never hear anyone saying anything negative about the old model's looks except it could have wider fenders! Just my opinion as well, and everyone has different likes of course!🙂

      Are you blind? The 2022 looks like a Kia from the front with the slats on the grill and a Subaru from the back. The engine is the exact same in both cars but BMW just decided to post the true HP numbers or maybe tuned it slightly better. I’m the 2022 they didn’t even fix the biggest flaw with the car which is the dead on center steering feel. The only improvement is the interior and apparently there’s a more noticeable difference between sport and comfort suspension.

    • @ShogunsDojo
      @ShogunsDojo 2 роки тому

      The engine is basically the same as the 2018 with some minor updates. A stage 1 tune on the 2018 will give it around 410hp and it can be had with a manual.

    The 2018 looks a bit dated next to the 2022. The new one has grown on me, I'm trying to decide between the 2022 and new Nissan Z this spring.
    My biggest negatives on the 2022 are the black side skirts and the exhaust tips. The side skirts can be painted but it's odd that they left them black, it makes it look cheap if your car isn't black. Hopefully an aftermarket rear bumper will be available in the future, or possibly from the M2, to allow a regular dual tip setup.

    • @Allcarnews
      @Allcarnews  2 роки тому

      The Z definitely sounds like it’s going to be loads of fun with an expected huge aftermarket to come along with it! Though i have a feeling it’s going to be hard to get for awhile

      @@Allcarnews Yeah, likely going to be a wait, and it could be a long one due to the bottleneck on production due to the chip shortage + the high enthusiast demand. A 400hp Japanese car for $45-$50k, that I can maintain myself, and not worry as much about out of warranty makes it tempting.

  • @vomErsten

    Your only caliper color choices for the M240i are red or blue and, between those two, the blue definitely works better with the Thunder Night Metallic. Agree about those exhaust tips, just give me slightly larger versions of the ones on the 230i and we're good. Also agree about the Live Cockpit; the standard gauges on the new car are ace, I just wish I could get those and still have the rest of the stuff that's in the Premium Package (especially the adaptive headlights).

      Have no fear. The new one is a rocket. Absolutely underrated power-wise. Looks, as always, are completely subjective. Owned the legendary E46 - new 2005. In no way was it a slug, but M240i waxes it all day.

    $35k for the 2018 is a much better deal. I don’t think the 2022 has lane keeping with active cruise control. My 2018 payment is $660 a month with $0 down 60 months. The 2022 is definitely over $1000 making it a pass for the new m2 which might look a lot better.

    Cool comparison but man, no need for so much of the back seat comparisons. If anyone is buying either car with a real care for the back seat they should be getting a M340i.
    EDIT: Oh man, I spoke too soon. The back seat room was the first thing you bring up as to why you should go with one over the other? Super confusing approach as you're literally going so in depth about the least important aspect of these cars, IMO.
