First, thank you so much for being here + for your lovely post. Second, I’m so excited for your travels to France! If you haven’t watched my (I think 2?) videos re: Paris travels they may be helpful because I share which perfume shops I visited. I would recommend Buly, Guerlain, Caron, Parle Moi, Panier de Sens, and some of the bigger pharmacies: Citypharma and Pharmacie Monge (amazing deals). There are a few I haven’t been to that I hear are great, e.g. Serge Lutens. ❤️ 🇫🇷
Kelly! So great to hear from you. Thank you for your post + energy in general. I meant to mention that marvelous the scent-I smelled + loved it + it is on my want list. Gorgeous thing. so many lovely perfumes you've shared here. grasse seems like a gorgeous, enchanting place. i appreciate your thoughts on consumerism and YT channels, and have similar feelings. i was drawn to your channel because you talk about perfumes that intrigue you, regardless of whether they are "trendy", which is how it should be IMHO, otherwise it's just comes across a bit empty. perfume/smells collide a lot with our human feelings/memories/associations which is a really important part of it i think. ( i was recently reading an article about how some scientists were studying the human sense of smell and how it's involved in regards to different areas of the brain.) anyway, glad to see you back :)
I have so enjoyed getting to know you through this channel. Have I ever told you that when I am on the fence about buying a scent, you are one of just a few people who I seek out on Fragrantica to see if you’ve posted a review. So insightful. Thank you for this kind post + for being here!

Happy to see you back. I hope your new place is a happy one. And yes there are some brands that you see all of the time on YT and you begin to wonder why that is... I think as a result, YT is a difficult space for indie fragrances who can't give PR. I love that you went to Grasse, that is so exciting... The 1000 flowers brand sounds interesting. I would love to visit Fragonard and Molinard. Fragonard are massively underrated. I love belle de Grasse and also the fig one and the iris one from the same range. I go to France quite a lot for holidays but I've never been to Grasse, only really the South West and West coast and Dordogne. I need to go! 🥰
I am such a fan of yours. Thank you for sharing not only such interesting (and valuable! and fun!) info/content/intel but also being so encouraging of others. I can’t wait to explore more of France-any favorite cities/towns? I think you would love Grasse. The pace is certainly slower than Paris (at least in the off season) but that was even a treat. I hear from the locals that going in late April or late August (when jasmine is blooming) are the best times. Thanks again, friend!
@@savorsalvagescent2300 oh that's really kind! I really liked Nîmes because of the amphitheatre there. I would recommend that way, way over Rome, it's much more impressive and gives you more of a feel of going there as a Roman and how everything worked. I also just loved travelling down the Dordogne, as someone who is not some water sports mad person, just getting in a canoe and drifting down the Dordogne was so fun! Also the castles there are wow, I loved seeing the one where Josephine Baker lived. There are also troglodyte caves which were lived in until the 60s which blew my mind! I also really love the Rhine in Germany for castles. I don't know if you've been to Germany, but for me, the scenery there and in Austria is wow!
Hi! Just stumbled on your channel and subscribed. 🙂 I’m honestly tired of seing all the same all the time… South of France seems like heaven for a frag addict!

Hi Amy, I own Jean patue perfume called 1000. I heard it is the end product of 1000 times of trying different flowers.....Gras is in my wish list of my future travels...I am an incense maker and an avid lover of perfumes, love to discover new scents in Gras........
It blows my mind to think of you making incense. It seems so important, spiritual, I think in my mind I thought it came from heaven! Btw, I never heard that story re: why/how 1000 got its name-thank you.
Indeed, incense is from heaven. It is spiritual and good mood enhancing scents. It is a trade I inherited from two generations of women from my mother side.thank you🌹
I just found you channel as I have been researching Serge Lutens. I appreciate your insights. Your video about Datura Noir has me searching for a bottle, though it’s now not widely available here in the states. Perhaps you have a suggestion in the same scent profile? I get what you’re saying about UA-cam, staying authentic and genuine in a world of sameness. Your definitely an original! I hope you feel better soon. Be well, Lisa 🥰
Hello + thank you for this lovely post… and for being here in general. My honest + unfortunate answer is that nothing (to my nose) is exactly like Serge Lutens’ Datura Noir. I say this because it is a wonderful white floral that just has a bit of a gothic edge or crack of the whip… hard to explain. BUT, but! I find Solstice Scents’ Nightgown to be in the same vein. A heady + buttery white floral with some real sensuality. They are on break presently but I think return to open their online shop in the next couple weeks. More soon + thanks again.
loved this video! totally agree with the hyper-consumerism and hyping up the same houses. it’s so tiring, i actually had to unfollow a few people who eventually just sounded like they were shilling. i love your suggestions and will definitely check them out!
I love your reviews and I love your perfume taste... my favorite Perfume house is Caron to, also Guerlain and Chanel. I was so deeply sorry to hear the pain in your voice Ami. I need to share with you; A very wise soul once told me, we all struggle with something that ails us & we as humans are not designed to be perfect, feeling disappointment in oneself is ok.. as long as it does not consume us. Acceptance of oneself is the operative word and to not fight it… but embrace to it. If that makes sense. 🌺❤️
Missed you❤ appreciate you taking your time to re-approach this with more personal & meaningful content than what often feels forcefed to us on repeat (as you said) on a lot of other channels in this community. Loved all that you shared & want to check into sampling a few☺️ Have you ever visited Oriza L Legrand?
Wonderful post to read-thank you from the bottom of my heart! I just finished a sample of that house’s carnation/oiellet scent before I moved and LOVED IT. Have never owned anything but want to. The bottles look gorgeous, too. Do you have any favorite scents by them? ❤️
@@savorsalvagescent2300 I’ve really only taken chances purchasing a few bottles from them over the span of the past 2 years: Heliotrope (my bedtime favorite) & Reve d’Ossian (reminds me very much of the incense the priests burn & wave around in the censer during mass); Empire des Indes (beautiful, amber loveliness); & Deja Le Printemps (floral, spring green-ness). I’m in love with this house’s history & their fragrances seem so different and lovely - combined with the houses you’ve hilighted here, I need to make a trip to France to do a Perfume House tour! 💯🌼🤗
🙏Thanks for the tip! I'm a fan of licorice! I just ordered "Mon Immortelle" from France and got lucky because the website says they won't be making it anymore once they run out of stock.
Thank you for the information and inspiration 🙏🏼. I’m going to Grasse next week for vacation and I’m so excited 🤩. I have some Molinard perfume and I want to make a workshop to. Also want to see the other houses and the museum. Do you have any ideas for shops/ cafes/restaurants?☺️
I’m so excited for you! I highly recommend the Fragonard home + clothing shops-beautiful. The international Musee de Parfum is a must (and it’s Jardin/orangerie, which is included, and it’s fab gift shop), and there is a little-known but incredible little restaurant that has a 2nd floor patio right across the street, called Imprévu. Perfect for lunch. For an un-fancy but delicious treat, go to Chez Ange for pizza. He’s wonderful! Lived in NY first some time, lovely guy. That place is close to other shops you might want to check out, like 1000 Flowers perfumerie, Gallimard perfumes (wonderful soaps, inexpensive perfumes) and there’s a great bakery + glace/ice cream place in that little section of town (look for the pink umbrellas overhead). I also enjoyed a meal at Restaurant Le Vietnam. Tucked away, unfancy, but delish. I hear that Fleur de Lys is great for more upscale and Les Délicatesses de Grasse for local fromage + saucisson. The Weds town square market is nice to see (but half is imported junk-go for the locally made food). The Fragonard factory is great not only fur the little perfume workshops but also for seeing the actual building + historical stuff. Also the view of neighboring towns, the sea, and the Alps is phenomenal from the Molinard factory. Have fun, report back!!
Thank you for the information and great input 🙏🏼😘! I’m so excited! This vacation will be wonderful. We have a little nice house a little bit outside of Grasse in the beautiful nature. And we want to visit Cannes and Nizza, the film festival is right now. Lol for you from Germany 🫶
You like great! I love your take on perfume and you channel. You’re the fist perfume UA-camr I listened to and one of the 4 I look forward to learn from. I understand the consumerism FOMO stuff…I just can’t go there. I’m here to listen to whatever you have to offer..that’s my true gut response, but I will give it some serious though and come back to you. I love love love Habinita and think I have all my life. My great and great uncles were involved in the fur trade in Russia and in Shanghai and in NYC. Habanita was used to scent the furs. In fact, I have a 100 year old fur coat (don’t tell anyone and don’t come after me) that still has that vanillic scent that I associate with Habanita. Also, I bought little bottles of perfume when I was in southern France in the 80’s. They’re empty, but I remember their beauty. Love this video and you !!!

Amy is back! 🤗❤ I think you already know you are one of my faves! I love channels that share the not so trending fragrances, I’m always so impressed with all the knowledge and experiences you share with us ❤ Did I mention how beautiful you look? 🥰
You made my day! I am such a fan of yours. Thank you for the kind words + friendship! ❤️
I'm glad you're back ✨ I greatly appreciate your content, I've learned a lot from your videos 😊 I will be visiting France this spring-summer, it will be my first time, and I will be visiting Paris, several places in the South of France, and several other regions. So, I'm trying to learn about different houses and places to visit💖
Hi Amy great to see you back. I’m a big fan of fragonard’s jasmin perle de the. Smells oh so like jasmine pearl tea. Love love love it.
Kelly! So great to hear from you. Thank you for your post + energy in general. I meant to mention that marvelous the scent-I smelled + loved it + it is on my want list. Gorgeous thing. If I remember correctly, you like licorice (and turned me on to Rusak’s Beast Mode) so you may want to try Mon Immortelle. ❤️
@@savorsalvagescent2300 thanks for the tip. And yes I did recommend chris rusak! Wow you remembered. I thought for sure your channel had gotten too big to remember the little folk (me) hahaha. I really hope you get back to posting regularly. I always thought you had a unique voice in the community and you’re missed when not active.
Hi Amy. So good to see you 👋. I'm recovering from an operation and was just watching your videos.
Oh my gosh, I hope you are on the mend + feeling stronger every day. Sending you a gentle hug! Thx for the kind words + connections in general.
I appreciate your content. So genuine, refreshing and interesting.
Hooray! I did miss you.
♥️♥️♥️
P.s. love the "soundtrack" 🙃
❤️ thank you for your sweet post + for being here with me!
so many lovely perfumes you've shared here. grasse seems like a gorgeous, enchanting place. i appreciate your thoughts on consumerism and YT channels, and have similar feelings. i was drawn to your channel because you talk about perfumes that intrigue you, regardless of whether they are "trendy", which is how it should be IMHO, otherwise it's just comes across a bit empty. perfume/smells collide a lot with our human feelings/memories/associations which is a really important part of it i think.
@@savorsalvagescent2300 aww that is so sweet. i have enjoyed your channel so much and getting to know you too. i've tried a lot things from your channel too! like le bain, which has become a love now. (and others but that one stands out in my memory.) i look forward to any kind of content you continue to post :)
I’m so happy you are back! 🩵🙏🏻
Aw, this is so nice! I’m so excited to connect! Thank you. ❤️
Truly heavenly. I was quite sick while I was there, and congested, but I could still smell the orange blossom, wisteria, and Iris. Still thinking about it. I’m so glad you are here!
Wow.. I learned so much - fantastic video! Molinard is definitely one of my favorite houses. Now France is on my bucket list!
I just went to smell some Fragonards this week and funnily enough the one I was really digging was Belle de Grasse! What a perfect gentle spring scent! Belle de Paris was rather pretty too. On my wish list!
Oh my gosh, I am such a fan of yours. Thank you for your post + for being here. If I remember correctly, you also love Mon Guerlain + licorice, so if you haven’t smelled Mon Immortelle you may love it! Thanks again! ❤️
@@savorsalvagescent2300 I've been watching your vids for a while so I'm a fan of yours too! I will have to go back to Marks and Spencers to try out more of the range when I get a chance - I nipped in for something else and got distracted by pretty perfumes but I didn't have time to test many of them! Hopefully they'll have Immortelle :)
Yay!!❤❤
I found you through my love of Caron. The fragrance hype train is real and I fall for it too. I've also been buying things off radar like Grossmith.
So very happy to see you. Great video. Your content is always so meaningful. I appreciate and respect that you present info about what interests you and what impacts you. Aside from videos on fragrances, I have really enjoyed videos you've done about living creatively while on a budget, such as creative gift-giving, gift-wrapping, etc. Take care.
So wonderful to hear from you. You are such a special person. Every interaction with you is so enriching. I hope you are having a great 2024 so far! ❤️
Be well,
Lisa 🥰
Hello + thank you for this lovely post… and for being here in general. My honest + unfortunate answer is that nothing (to my nose) is exactly like Serge Lutens’ Datura Noir. I say this because it is a wonderful white floral that just has a bit of a gothic edge or crack of the whip… hard to explain. BUT, but! I find Solstice Scents’ Nightgown to be in the same vein. A heady + buttery white floral with some real sensuality. They are on break presently but I think return to open their online shop in the next couple weeks. More soon + thanks again.
Thank you for the suggestion! I’m looking at the Christian Louis website now…you make me want to go to 🇫🇷 💕.
Lisa
loved this video! totally agree with the hyper-consumerism and hyping up the same houses. it’s so tiring, i actually had to unfollow a few people who eventually just sounded like they were shilling. i love your suggestions and will definitely check them out!
I love your reviews and I love your perfume taste... my favorite Perfume house is Caron to, also Guerlain and Chanel.
I was so deeply sorry to hear the pain in your voice Ami. I need to share with you;
A very wise soul once told me, we all struggle with something that ails us & we as humans are not designed to be perfect, feeling disappointment in oneself is ok.. as long as it does not consume us. Acceptance of oneself is the operative word and to not fight it… but embrace to it. If that makes sense. 🌺❤️
This was a big hug to me. I am hugging you back right now! Xo.
Love your videos glad to see you ❤
Yay Amy!
DAVID!!!!! 🤩 So excited to see you in the feed!! 🧡
Lynn, I honestly can’t do justice w/ words to how fortunate I feel for having met you and for the opportunity to get to know you + to be your friend. Your post is so kind + warms my heart. Also, this family history + story=amazing!! I am very much into wearing vintage fur (my fave is a Russian style white fox hat gifted by my friend’s grandmother-don’t come for me either!) and can just imagine how good that smells. Is this how you acquired that marvelous little red pot of perfume? I took a few photos in Grasse of something I thought you’d find interesting… will send soon. Xo.
