When a series of game cutscenes are better than the last 6 Alien movies combined, you know that the franchise has lost its way. Of all the Alien films, only the first one was good and the second one better. They should just let game makers and Dark Horse take over, or get Cameron back.
You're objectively wrong. Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3: Assembly Cut are miles better than this simple story. And Prometheus was better too. This is not in any way better than those 4. Claiming that this is better than all of the movies is actually laughable.
@@TheFirstCurse1 Eh, I am unsure how I (or you) included Alien and Aliens in my list (the only two good Alien films to date) but I will disagree on the rest of your assessment. Aliens was the pinnacle; had they simply made the Dark Horse 1990's Aliens post-story they could have printed money. Instead, they felt like the stars of the show were A) Ripley in her many, many incarnations and B) sadness and bleak depression. Cameron was the only one of them that understood the balance. The original 1990s AvP game also got it right. To be clear, I am referring to : Alien 3, Alien 4, Alien vs Predator, and AVP:R Prometheus, and Covenant as the "last 6" movies. I saw Alien 3 in theaters. I was a HUGE fan and had looked forward to it for years, but it was a massive dissapointment---a depressing retread that eliminated all the efforts of the Aliens film survivors.
@@done.6191 Alien Vs Predator doesn't take place in the Alien universe. They don't count. So you're saying that all 6 movies are worse than this mediocre game story, which is blatantly incorrect. Prometheus was good and you know that, dont pretend like the engineers, space jockeys and the possibility of creating life wasnt interesting, dude…. Dont be a boring fanboy…

18:50. Sgt Harper takes command. 32:07. Devils Peak Colony. 36:51. HYBRID CULTISTS REVEALED! But they changed it to go with just pure aliens instead. Cool to see here though. 44:38. Pharos Spire reaches out to the Otagu... 1:03:10 DR BETRAYAL 1:05:52. FREESTRIKERS ARRIVE (Corpo Mercs). APC VS DROPSHIP 1:09:59 DUEL OF THE DROPSHIPS! 1:16:43. Entering the Underground City. 1:23:27. Hypersleep all the way home...
My only complaint is the lack of the original pulse rifle and smart gun sound effects. To me that was the main “wow factor” of the sci-fi weapons. I feel it’s as much of a staple of the movie as any of the original Alien creatures
@@scottc476 yeah but in the beginning as part of the credits, it said 20th Century Studios Presents...I figured FOX would have put those effects in. What a bummer.
I love this game and the story, but something that I love the most that I just found out here is that the Musical Score is a mix of all 4 original movies' theme/ scores, the music is not only mixed together but also given a different sound. I picked up many musical cues from ALIEN 3 as well as for ALIEN Resurrection, and of course ALIENS and ALIEN. This game was made with love.

Many of the Skeletons if not most had holes in the ribcage. There was multiple of those things down there, luckily either the others died or only one woke up.
possibly not engineers, also, per their wiki, the big one missing hind legs is a queen, hatched from a different species from human, who originally built the city
@@medievalmechanic927 Fun Fact: It actually has hind legs. They are just extremely small, and I cannot exactly say what they look like. They are covered in shadow most of the time so it's hard to tell. Also I'm gonna look at the wiki but idk if it's official or not. It may be a Queen but the Crushers also seem to have the moveable head in crest feature in this game, so it just may be a design choice more so than it actually being a Queen. Plus their hosts were massive anyways, so they would be big regardless. Yet again I am gonna go check the wiki just in case. (Yeah just checked the Wiki, I honestly think they called it a Queen cause they got confused with the whole head moving separate from the crest thing. It's a brand new variant of Xenomorph so naturally it would be hard to pinpoint exactly what stage it is in. Hopefully the devs will divulge on what it is so we don't have to rely on Wikipedia for information.)

If we’re going by combat, Elden Ring. By atmospheric and lore wise fun? Aliens. Then again, a true grim dark game is WH40k. STILL BEST LORE!
@@donpula6349 best aliens is the second, "first one is too boring" third is decent fourth is sadly kind meh :( same sadly for the AvP/Predator where the first predator being the best, rest kinda crappo :(
@@Elchupanibresyou don’t deserve an opinion on aliens if you don’t like the first one. 1 an 2 are the best by far. And 1 just gets us into the story. It’s a sci fi masterpiece comparable to, do androids dream of electric sheep. They need to bridge the worlds and open up a wondrous universe with rogue replicants and evil corporations.
Hey look at it! A non-white female lead character who is strong and capable, but doesn't have to be a whining asshole or naturally limitlessly magically amazing at everything, and even has enough humility to agree and admit someone else is right when their argument is valid. Gods I miss actually strong female characters like Ellen Ripley or Sarah Connor.
Yep, I like her too, she's not condescending and can work with others while also having the ability to lead. I can imagine myself working for someone like her.
I know! Nothing better than a female who remains subservient. Can’t let them be TOO equal.
Every time some loser like you takes time out of their day to point this out, you just remind everyone how misogynistic you actually are. "Hey, look! A woman who behaves exactly as I think all women should be have. Wish more were like that!"
@@MrSlandererare you familiar with the two characters ? It doesn't sound like it.
They did her right.
I liked her.
You know, every time we engineer a xenomorph escape/infestation things go terribly wrong and lots of people die. What are we doing wrong? Why do these aliens not do what we want?
They’re bio weapons. They do what they were designed to do. Even their makers lost control of them.
It likely always fails because they were designed by the Engineers as a weapon of war to wipe out the Yautja.
"when a weapon we enginer to wipe out civilization actualy wipe out civilization" 😲😲
No no it goes right often. We just don’t see it because it’s not a very good story.
Bcoz aliens reads the script first😂
When a series of game cutscenes are better than the last 6 Alien movies combined, you know that the franchise has lost its way.
The only movie it's better than is Covenant.
As for Alien 3, watch the Assembly Cut. It makes it better.
@@TheFirstCurse1 It could hardly make it worse :). The six movies I described are inferior to this game story, yes.
Prometheus was good and you know that, dont pretend like the engineers, space jockeys and the possibility of creating life wasnt interesting, dude…. Dont be a boring fanboy…
The air battle between both drop ships was the most spectacular scene 🎬 I’ve seen in terms VOTL style dogfights and the most epic shoot down.
Laugh in macross
Spock: "His movements suggest bi-dimentional thinking."
I loved that one of the pilots looked like a clone of the first drop ship we saw in “Aliens”. Nice to see the tribute to her - shame they killed her off - I liked her!
Now to play the game! Love the story, at least as good as all the audio books. Definetly Dark Horse Comics vibes❤❤❤❤
So want earth hive as a movie
18:50. Sgt Harper takes command.
32:07. Devils Peak Colony.
36:51. HYBRID CULTISTS REVEALED!
In the early Aliens (1986) script cult colonists were going to be in the movie (although not quite looking like that) as armed followers guarding the hive. But they changed it to go with just pure aliens instead. Cool to see here though.
44:38. Pharos Spire reaches out to the Otagu...
1:03:10 DR BETRAYAL
1:05:52. FREESTRIKERS ARRIVE (Corpo Mercs).
APC VS DROPSHIP
1:09:59 DUEL OF THE DROPSHIPS!
Yeah it's super lame that it didn't have the classic Pulse Rifle sounds. They're so iconic.
Sound effects probably owned by Fox
@@scottc476 😅right?
@@scottc476 yeah but in the beginning as part of the credits, it said 20th Century Studios Presents...I figured FOX would have put those effects in. What a bummer.
I like the part where the jury rigged ballistic missile blew a perfect size rectangular hole for the dropship to go through. 👌
That made me laugh so hard.
Scott and James need to work together to make another Aliens film.
They almost did. They backed out at mentions of the Predator.
I love how every single bad guy without exception was a white man and every good person was female or minority. Cause if theres one thing, it's that white men aren't the majority of sci-fi fans.

@@TheCollapse410 That's your takeaway? You're a little obsessed with race, my dude.

Really like this Main Character. She is really respectful and always want to help.
Hayes is a breath of fresh air.
She's a Wey-Yu exec who has good intentions and uses everything in her power to do the right thing.
Great character and writing, this game was a wild ride!
Really love this game. I'm hoping that there'll be a sequel someday (or at least a bigger dlc with a couple of new missions)
Where is this dlc
@@wadereynoldsdeadpool5768it's coming soon. It's called white men more evil than last time. Which is shocking cause every single bad guy was a white man before I can only imagine the dlc!!!
I like the fact descents is connected to fireteam elite. We need part two for both games .
13:24 some next gen graphics and physics right there.
Isolation is a jewel, but this is easily the next best Aliens game. the Atmosphere, setting, and tactics are spot on. and the story is as good as the Dark Horse Aliens EU.
Honestly better than Covenant
Did we just watch the same video? Because this was worse than even Covenant.
i brought this game thinking id refund it in an hour (i play fps & rts)
i was hooked after getting a taste of the combat in it, its such a true to heart aliens experience, the lore has been shit on so much by movies this feels more respectful of the ip than ridley scotts latest attempts.
my only criticism is:
1 i wish you could replay the game with your maxed out marines on a higher difficulty
2 i wish you could replay the game with an OP ripley as an easter egg
fingers crossed they do some DLC for this, i hate season passes but id purchase it to keep the content coming for this game!
Prometheus and its focus on AI were great, but the film should've been longer. They cut too many important scenes.
@@darkseid6898real talk. I liked both of them but wish they added another 45mins off engineer stuff to each.
They fixed this and implemented a new game+
Yeah, only the ending was bullshit and a drag, the rest was great
I'm from the future, they've added New Game+ since then and you can use your marines from your previous campaign!
Wake up, Vasquez. A new Aliens joint just dropped.
LET'S ROCK
Finally, a game with enough clips in it to make a full movie, not bad at all.
Go play the joke that is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots and you'll do a 180 on your comment.
1:22:45 ohh! Was that music a direct reference to the James Honer's original "Aliens" score where they escape the atmospheric processor? If so, bravo touch right there, devs!
Definitely is. Nice catch!
It is. All the musics in the game were reworks of the films' musics.
Is the Giant Legless Xenomorph just a queen missing its hind legs? or a Guardian?
Look like a rhino type. But not sure why they made the engineers that massive lol.
honestly looks like the hydralisk on star craft lmao
@@renevil2105I don't think those are actually the Engineers we know from the movies. Its probably a race that was in cahoots with them tho due to the Engineer-Like structures, or even prisoners that the Engineers used as Test Subjects. Which eventually led to the Giant Eggs and the Giant Xenomorph. Plus heres the scary part, the one Giant Xenomorph probably wasn't the only one in there.
8:20 I thought we are having aliens in the station, not SCP-096, unless Wayland work together with the Foundation
I finished the game on Ps5 twice and then on Pc, because I couldn't get enough of it and now i'm Here. The Story and Voice Acting is absolute Brilliant.
If anybody wants more good Alien Lore, there are three Books combined in "The Shadow Archive". They also nail the Alien and Aliens Feeling.
1:12:00 bro literally gaslighted the main villain into believing she was a synth. is that what max charisma looks like?
I like the earlier alien design, these new ones look too mechanical, they are biomechanical!
hey that was really well done. you can see the guys who made this took their time.
Thanks!
Never played the game thinking about giving it a go now though. This is such an underrated universe and so much more could be done with it. Ridley Scott is truly one of the greatest Sci-Fi pioneers of our time.
Ridley Scott had little to do with the universe. You can essentially thank Dan O'Bannon and James Cameron for it.
Not that great
@@MaxxTrajanthis game is basically, white men evil, minority women are pure and powerful. That's it. If there's a white guy you KNOW he's the bad guy. It literally worked FOR EVERY SINGLE WHITE GUY and I'm sick of it for real.
@@danunsworth8623Excuse me? Ridley Scott made the universe. James Cameron added to it, and kind of ruined the Xenomorph completely and turned it from a horror icon into an action bad guy. He damaged the series as much as he improved it.
@@TheFirstCurse1 No, no he didnt. He Directed the movie, Dan O'Bannon wrote the story and the majority of the script. Other writers, including Cameron expanded the universe into what it became in the books and comics.
You can’t convince me that at 1:18:00 the corpse is of a bald 9 foot tall white guy and not of a biomechanical monstrosity that was grown into that wall.
Most likely a Disney exec
Amazing work, perfectly done! A true masterpiece! The story, the visuals, the sound - absolute pleasure for every fan of the Aliens. I could only hope it will be made for the big screen one day! "In space no one can hear you scream"

BTW; I believe it's important to have a nice AI voice, even when it's to do with slaughtering hundreds of innocent humans. The way the AI said engaging targets was so calm & unassuming 👍, no point screaming +panicking at the end of day.
Did he not see the xenomorph? The distress signal says everything is being killed. No way I'd go out and risk more lives!
The almost chipper voice the computer uses to say "Engaging targets" is nearly as creepy as the aliens.
The b***es at the end was silent
Imagine you are a director of the next xenomorph movie. They only actors you have Is Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.
So an Air Force vet and a gun nut?…. They win. That’s what happens 😅
"Wow"
In my opinion this was one if not the best Alien(s) and RTS games. Almost a love letter to fans, I just wish it were longer. Kudos to the team behind it, I'm hoping for part 2 or another story in the Alien universe with Predators. Alien Romulus coming out this summer and then the series (fingers crossed they are at least decent), but if they are a success it would make sense to make another Aliens game

That facehugger jump made me spill a fresh cup of tea down my face 😂
I spilt something worse😮
Yep... i done shit meself 😂
Cant believe they made over an hour of high quality cg for this game
It's not all high quality CG. If you watch it you'll see a lot of in-engine cutscenes that don't look too good.
What we found was a new kind of evil but it found us first.
Better than a real movie
You don't watch enough movies.
Thank you for putting the movie for us.
30 min in it and it's a thumbs up 👍👍😎
MAN this whole thing just flew right under my radar! None of the Aliej youtubers I watched mentioned this game!!
It plays great on Pc and Ps5. Doesnt need a nasa Pc. Have fun, its a blast!
The giant lumbering xenomorph seen at the end reminded me of Melchiah, the first boss from Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. I'd love it if that series was remade in the future.
Banger of a game. Really loved playing through it on the hardest setting. We're blessed to have a good Robocop, Terminator, and Aliens game all within a year gents.
Story was more interesting then the last 3 or 4 installments combined
Loved THE SHIT out of this game. Played 100+ hours (at least 20 of that was Achievement hunting, yup still a thing!) The atmosphere was *chefs kiss* so SO spot on. One of the few games I forgot I was playing. I genuinely cared and was afraid for the safety of my people. Brilliant. Would recommend. The fact they literally have an entire movie worth of cinematics...kinda bananas. I watched all of these, of course, but ya know.. hours apart. Seeing them back to back to back...man, this story was deeper than I thought. O.o
Just soz people knowz, even touching the splooge they leave behin, causes a chestburster to form inside them. Novel wise, at any rate. < Alien nerd here haha
I played and finished this game and loved it thus game needs DLC content
8:14 oh god i didnt know they low key unleashed scp 096! although would be interested to see him go up against the xenomorphs
That was way better than most movies, maybe Disney could just stick to making PG cartoons & leave the good stuff to gamers, just a thought.
its crazy as much as tech advances in this universe how they still struggle to kill xenomorphs. I think they are just OP AF in most stories. It would make since for the queens but for the worker bees they should be cannon fodder
The warriors also have small caliber armor capabilities and explode into a shower of acid upon death.
Wth this is way better than any of the recent alien movies
No it wasn't. Comments like your's made me think that this would be amazing, but it's not even better than Covenant or Ressurection.
Those synthetics are nightmare fuel
They're called Working Joes I believe. They're terrifying in Alien: Isolation.
At least Working Joes having moving mouths (I think. It's been a minute since I watched one talk.) These droids just... make sounds.
8:19 So glad that SCP-096 made it into this game.

Alien is just an ant magnified to human size,,cause ants spew acid and has a queen only that lays eggs😂😂while the hatchling protect the nest😂😂
why the get called bugs
Actually Aliens were designed on Skorpions & parasitic wasps
The camera and positioning of these movies are far better than 90% of the Hollywood productions these days 😂 - just wow 🤩

It’s a bummer there aren’t more fmv:s in the game, filling out the gaps. This would be darn good movie.
Who was the infiltrator that opened to boxes with aliens?
A Cultists
Is this cut scenes from the game? or is this a separate movie?
Seems a bit odd that their engineering doesn't keep the technical manufacturing specs for the chip they needed.
