  • Teaching has become a big part of my musical journey over the years. There’s so many satisfying benefits of sharing what I’ve learned and continue to learn as the adventure continues.
Dissecting things we haven’t thought about in many years makes us better players without a doubt. It helped make me a more confident musician by revisiting and teaching these fundamentals regularly.
The relationships that develop due to putting yourself out there can been life changing as well. I’ve definitely experienced this firsthand.
So, if you’re looking for a thoughtful and unique holiday gift idea this season, please check out my four different private lesson tiers, as well as all the curriculums and courses at TrueFire and Artist Works.
I’d love to help you as we all continue our musical journey together.

Nothing sounds better than a really clean guitar. Guthrie doesn’t need a million pedals. He just sounds great

Anyone know the speaker Guthrie uses in his black face amps? They all sound like this and I love that mid forward tone!

@@forester057 I’ve no idea. I think it’s just a nice Fender clean tone and a very special pair of hands.

@@forester057 Not sure about this particular amp, but I know in the past he has advocated putting a 12” Eminence Alessandro Signature speaker in a Princeton. I put one in my Deluxe Reverb and it sounds great! Way better than the stock Jensen.

Wow. I hadn’t even made it to the Dom 7th part and this lesson is already worth it’s weight in gold. Listen, play with intent, pick up the guitar and make music from the first note. Such a great reminder. It’s so easy to mindlessly noodle and find yourself going back to that “lil ol’ blues lick” you’re comfortable with instead of really working on exploring the neck in a given key and actually making progress. Thank you !

Guthrie you have to admit that sliding that Tritone shape up to the 12th fret and having it imply the same chord as it did on the 5th fret is complete sorcery. I’ve never thought of it that way always used that stuff in the 5th fret position but it’s clear as day when you showed it moved up to where the root is on the A string and my mind is officially blown

The flattened 7 in a major chord❤ is a pivot point! To the 3rd of a major chord, in either direction❗ to the four and the five, of the major chord that you're in❤ understand the chords and you will see it on your fretboard🍄 peace

Dude. 11:20, 11:42, 12:07, 13:23. Unbelievable amount of connection that my brain just made behind the "why" I've been playing these notes but not understanding "why". Friends in the chat, don't make the same mistake I did--don't be a "mimic" when learning the guitar, to wind up 26 years in and not understanding what you're playing. Sounding cool early on is fun and impressive, but if you want to get serious about the fretboard, you have to do the work to learn it. GT knows what he's doing and can explain it simply.
